The salon was clean. My hairdresser trimmed up my A-style, then took a blow dryer to it. The Avalon stylist followed pre-existing lines, and trimmed it up a bit for me. This was as requested. She did a good job. Makeup came next. I generally wear a little makeup, mascara, little blush, very light lipstick. But I needed foundation for the photos. I left feeling a little concerned about how the photos would turn out, as the foundation that was used seemed to enhance and deepen fine lines around my eyes and lips. I researched online to see how this is avoided and learned that a primer that seals lines and closes pores should have been applied. Would I go back to Avalon? Absolutely. But I would request the primer.

The cashier at the time said yes, as long as it's 80% full and not broken, and I was like cool I've used it twice, it stinks. I drove home and brought the perfume back, the lady that helped me the second time (a heavy set alternative/emo looking girl with wild dyed hair I think silver) was not very good at customer service, and she was the manager, I walked up with a smile and a cheerful greeting (because I do have good customer service) and my request to return my perfume. The way she looked at me and gave me a fake smile I could already tell that the girl wasn't going to help me. She looked for a box to scan the sku code and said she didn't have it therefore she couldn't do the return, she also said it was because it looked open. I called customer service and they said that the return should've been possible, I came down to a different store and they did the return with no issue, not needing the barcode from the box, they just got it from the computer with no issue and no sass. I used to go in and pick up products because I liked how calm that store was, I never minded the ladies followed me and stared me down, cause they thought I was going to take something. Because I knew I was there to purchase stuff, but not being able to return something I purchased at the same store, because the girl didn't want to do her job and just wanted to profile me, is not okay. A person like that shouldn't work customer service and definitely shouldn't manage a store. People shouldn't feel bad where they go purchase their products. They should get better training so every store can go ny the same policy, they should, but I guess it wasn't thorough enough.

When I went in for my appointment I was told the picture I was asking for was a balayage and asked if I wanted that. I said no just do the whole thing to my roots but match the colors. Everything seemed great till I realized she was only doing highlights and lowlights. Confused I asked her what she was doing and how she was planning to get the color all over and to my ends. She said I was scheduled for only highlights and low lights. Once we both realized it wasn't what I asked for (just to make it clear, I was not upset with her because it wasn't her fault in anyway) She then offered to fix it at my earliest convenience with no extra cost. Thank God! I went home with BLACK stripes as low lights and gray stripes for highlights. Nothing matched the photo I had at all and I was very confused. Before returning I received a text asking me to come earlier then originally planned on that following Monday and I happily agreed then added the photo and information explaining EXACTLY what I wanted so there was no more confusion. I returned that Monday and said again! "I want my whole head ash gray/white like THIS photo and no more added low lights" and even asked to have the original lowlights lightened because I wasn't into the black stripes. She agreed and began to fix my hair. She ended up fixing the dark strips and gave me MORE highlights like I said I DID NOT want. (As you can see in the text conversation) I wanted my whole head to be light ash gray/white LIKE THE PHOTO. It looks 10x better but when I pay $100+ for my hair to be done I didn't expect to get nothing remotely resembling what I was asking for. Unfortunately will never return. I don't know how I could have made it more clear on what I wanted but who knows, I'm not a hair dresser and don't know their language apparently. English and photos as examples don't cut it.

She was very professional & obviously knows what she is doing. I like her directness in answering questions & I appreciated her kindness & time. I will see her again. I may have her color my hair as well. She seemed to take pride in herself as well as her work which means alot. My appointment was at 10am & I received a text from her well in advance asking me to come in 15 minutes later which I had no problem doing. I actually thought it was nice of her to even ask me. I could have sat in the shop for 15 minutes waiting for her without knowing why. It was a good experience overall this morning. I will recommend Jennifer to my friends & family. Thank you!
