I cannot recommend Charita enough. I've been coming to her for over 8 years, and whenever someone compliments my hair, I'm quick to tell them it's Charita's hands at work. She has a private little salon in a larger building, but you are totally within your own area so that is really nice. I cant say enough good things about my hair- it looks fantastic! Had to send her a message since online appointment book was not working, but to my surprise, Prinshell contacted me right away (during the holidays) and I was able to book my appointment the same day. The location of the salon is great (right off westpark toll) and the establishment is well maintained with wide open space with an inviting feel once you enter in. However, Im more accustomed to privacy when I get my hair done, so Prinshell's location is perfect since she has an actual room with her own bowl and dryers. Plus, Prinshell is not only professional, but friendly as well. She can hold a conversation and still straighten your hair silky smooth without burning your ear! For my safety, I do not do home based businesses unless I know the person or was referred to someone with one. This made the search a little more challenging. When I discovered For Braiders, I not only saw they were an actually in a shopping center and the price was comparable to many of the braiders I had found, they offerred a free shampoo with their braids. Now, this was a deal for me because its always a pain to prep my hair the day before braiding. After some thought and reaching out to the biz about the address which GPS did have me on a goosechase to find, I booked with my $30 deposit. Unfortunately, the day I booked became a conflict as I had a funeral to attend, so I reached out to the business again and I was reminded to just reschedule through my confirmation. Easy piexzzy. The only thing I wish I had done was just did the add on for the hair because due to my schedule I was last minute getting my hair and even had to settle for 1 vs 1B because the supply store was out of that color. I did reach out to the business asking how many 3 back bundles would be enough and was told to get three for safe measure. Understandably, as a new client I may have had very thick and long hair and the third pack would have been needed. Although the third pack wasn't needed, It will be useful for the next time I come as this was an enjoyable appointment. Not only was my hair shampooed and blowed out for free as advertised, the braider was gentle and asked me about my prefereced such as did I want my edges out, asked me to check that I like my center part, and putting oil on my scalp when she finished. Very accomodating and nice for sure. Plus, I was able to watch a few movies on the tv while she braided. The final product was done in 3.5 hours- that includes being shampooed and blown out, laying out the hair to be braided for each bundle and bag, and dipping my ends. I've sat in the salon for more time than this and most of that time was waiting. The only thing that could be one less star on was one of my braids had my own hair sticking out that didn't get tucked in and the braid was in the front. I didn't see it until I flipped my braids at home to do a side part - then it was visible. However, for the value and speed that these braids were done and not having to worry about styling my hair for awhile, I will let it slide this time. I will be back for sure and you should let this be your braider if you're looking for someone or need a new one.
