Rooted AF was great! I don't typically eat strictly vegan, but I decided to give it a try because their buffalo cauliflower bites looked delicious and wow, they did not disappoint! Just absolutely delicious, freshly made, friendly service and so worth the trip there to eat. We also were able to eat outside on a covered patio, which just added to the experience. The food is out of this world! Looks like maybe one should avoid the Jicama wrap, but otherwise, everything else I've seen and had is excellent. The beef and cheese empanadas are out of this world! I mean they alone are worth having as your only meal and traveling from Philadelphia just to have- they are that could. Juicy "meat", flavorful dough- just all around crispy and tender and oh-so-good! You don't have to be a vegetarian to go ecstatic about this. It's one of Wilmington's latest best kept secrets. Some may say the preparation time can be like 10-30 minutes because there is so much care to the food and a lot of orders. This place could definitely use some more staff than one person if it's feasible. The strawberry crunch cupcake is flavorful and familiar cupcake textures. The samplers I had at an event beforehand doesn't do justice to capture the quality of flavor and texture of the cupcakes served here. Strong strawberry flavor with a sliver of jam (not too much but just right) and the flavored crumbs complementing the cupcake so well. The smoothie was a healthy blend of different juices and I couldn't have enough of it. In a market that typically only locals might visit because Wilmington doesn't stand out as a city to many, the market itself is beautiful with local musicians who do acoustic performances of your favorite modern, 90s or older cover (you don't usually get to choose), and maybe some local originals depending on the band. Clean facility, visually appealing, clean and plentiful bathrooms, finding the location can be a bit tricky as the windy roads to find downtown can be a bit awkward to an outsider. The garage actually has 3 levels and not two levels like I originally thought, as the basement level "entrance" is at the end of the ground level parking. Don't drive? "No problem!" Take that d@m# regional rail to the Wilmington stop, and then walk those 18 minutes or so to the other side of town to eat here. You won't regret it! When you go in, if you don't notice the elevator to your right, there is another one across the hallway on your left, then if you took the one on your left, you have to cross the big lobby area to get to the market. Also, I received a Chancery discount card at a Yelp Elite event and it had a QR code on it. The code did not apply a discount at all and RootAF told me only certain vendors took this discount and they weren't one of them. The food here is too good and also of anyone needs to get docked, it is the Chancery market for such a gimmicky card and not RootedAF. You know if it's a bit hard to get to and locals are still coming out that it HAS to be good. Rooted AF fits right in! 11/17/23 addition: #ThankYouThursday for having a place that offers quality, flavorful food at reasonable prices and even in a less noticed venue for non-locals. Located in "the CHANCERY MARKET Food Hall & Bar" (i.e. food court) with indoor as well as outdoor patio seating, this is a comfortable spot to get a meal. Convenient to 95, you're only a few miles off the interstate. Maps will take you to the parking garage. We opted for a parking meter not knowing parking would be validated inside. Good to know for next time. My son and I got vegan chicken cheesesteaks. We both found our meal delicious and satisfying. The price of food has gone up everywhere hence a tad more than I expected. But no matter, the friendliness of the servers, the cherry ambience, and the quality of the food, (as well as it being all vegan, sparing us any headaches clarifying the diet) make this a place we will keep on our radar when taking this particular road trip route in the future. First of all, everything's vegan which is GREAT for my food allergies. It's hard to come by delicious vegan food, but this is it my friends. The empanadas were also to die for, I could probably eat 10 in one sitting. The fries have a special little seasoning on it that may not be for everyone but worth a try. Frequented this place for their slap bugers on GF bun with fries. Total for my wife and I was $38.99. Always asked for and received plastic fork and knife, ketchup and mustard. Today no knife, got some ketchup packs and mustard was 50 cents extra. How petty to charge 50 cents extra for a condiment that is available everywhere you go for free. Updated review is as follows because of the food court's online ordering system confirming my order but not actually sending the order to the restaurant. The first review I left was unfair to Rooted AF and was a reflection of the food court and/or the third party online ordering system, NOT the restaurant itself. I got the slap burger, fries, beef and cheese empanada, and soft girl era drink. I didn't personally try the food because it was for someone else, but she told me it was all really good. The vegan beef was very meaty and hearty. Chipotle crema sauce in the burger was fantastic and worked so well in it. The drink was a soft girl era, which I forgot what it is, but it was also really good. Like the best lemonade you ever had, but with a really nice herbal taste to it. Terrell, the gentleman who took my order over the phone was very knowledgeable and knew all the drinks and everything off the top of his head to help me order. My girlfriend picked the food up and said he was very professional and laid back and friendly. 6/5 stars read more

Had a staff meeting at Hercules Plaza and finally had a chance to try the plant-based restaurant inside Chancery Market Food Hall & Bar. My boss ordered for the table so I got to try the "chopped cheese" and the Thai "chicken" wrap which were both deliciously flavorful. My favorite appetizer was the empanadas OMG I hate I had to share them lol. If you go with more than 3-4 people and you like good empanadas, do yourself a favor and order at least 2 because foodies will love them. What impressed me even more than the food was speaking to the owner iamholisticnik and learned she is a certified nutritionist. It's nice when you see the owner look and talk the part, so I left feeling even more confident about what I put into my body. The overall vibe and ambiance was great because I had the choice to sit inside & enjoy the A/C or go outside on this beautiful patio. I can see myself coming back once a week for a sea moss smoothie and patio views to break up the monotony of working from home. I'll end this lengthy recap and respond to the 1 star review that had a problem with the portion size.
