I can not say enough how much I love going to Root Republic. As soon I walk in the door I am offered a drink and a hello. I have been going to Eric for about 4 years. He always offer suggestions on style and products. Eric always schedules my next appointment before I leave the salon, making everything convenient. The rustic decor offers a home relaxing feeling. It helps me relax and forget about the outside world. The space between each booth is nice, we can have a private conversation and without having to over speak each other. Very sweet girl. Waited weeks for an appointment But when you drop $200 to get chunky blonde with darker lowlights and leave with just a darker brown than you came in with (I had all documented communication where I told her repeatedly I wanted my blonde back and how I hated the mousy light brown), I have to frown upon that... this was simply poor service for the exorbitant price. I tried to wait 24 hours to see if it would grow on me and i completely hate it. STILL HATE IT I contacted her and was only given the option of one day in her ENTIRE calendar to fix it. I work in a busy hospital and I can't just drop a day to go on her only available day she was willing to rectify this. Sad that I really was hoping to find a reliable place in pueblo. read more

My appointment was with stylist Jimmy and unfortunately, their unprofessional and rude behavior severely impacted my experience. During my appointment, Jimmy, was rude & unprofessional. I found this behavior to be uncalled for in ever aspect of integrity. . A professional salon environment should be welcoming and positive, and this was not my experience. Gabby is the absolute best! She has been cutting my hair for over three years and not only does an incredible job but is a lovely person to talk with. If you have curly hair, or just hair in general, she is as good as any $200+ curly cut I've gotten in Denver. Love their new location too! read more

After being dissatisfied with a haircut from another salon in town, I visited Root Republic and had an appointment with Trysten. I showed her the same picture as the previous stylist, and she cut it just like the picture. She even texted to let me know I could come in early, which saved me some time! Excellent haircut by Rebecca! I had some inspiration pictures, which she took into consideration. The end product is fantastic! I got the length, style and layers I wanted. Rebecca is very meticulous and takes time to walk you through the whole process. She also gives you a look in between to see how the style is going. I'm really happy with my hair cut and styling. I went to Jimmy Garcia at Root Republic Salon for like 6 years. I followed him from Headlines in Pueblo West. This is what he sent to my wife because she posted about how judging people for their dietary choices is classist and ableist. I wasn't gonna blast him, but this is unacceptable. Jimmy is wrong here and I feel like people should know this. Chances are good that if you think he's your friend, this is what he really thinks of you. Sad. read more

I am in Pueblo for work and desperately needed a hair cut after not having one in a year due to COVID. I read reviews and decided to try Root Republic - particularly Robbie. He gave me exactly what I asked for! He is great! Very sweet and easy to converse with. I waiting for another two weeks and scheduled to get my hair colored. All I can say is that he is amazing!! I half ass told him what I was hoping for and he nailed it! I may have to travel back to Pueblo every time I need a cut or color!!! If you are looking for a great cut/color give him a try! The inside is really cute, I got put w/ a lady that hadn't been out of school very long. She was very kind but made me nervous. Buttt my brunette root touch up was pink and washed out w/ in 2 weeks. The prices were good but not for 2 weeks of what was supposed to be permanent and didn't last. read more

I look forward to my regularly scheduled cuts with Lacey. She is one awesome stylist. The salon itself is very inviting, with a spacious waiting area that has comfortable seating if you arrive early. Probably one of the things I appreciate most about Root Republic, other than their excellent customer service and top notch stylists, is that they respect their clients' salon experience enough to limit the presence of children under the age of 8 to those who are receiving salon services. Going to a salon is supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating, and having these parameters allow for that. read more

I just moved to the area and tried a few other places before finding Root Republic. So happy I kept looking for a great salon here in Pueblo because this place is spot on. When picking a stylist or esthetician, obviously, their skill and expertise is what I'm mostly after, but it is also important to me to feel pampered and in an environment that makes me feel inspired...and pretty! When you step into Root Republic the salon itself is gorgeous. It's the kind of place you expect to see in a much larger city. The owners have spent massive amounts of attention to detail and that really matters to me. It's very upscale in a non pretentious way. So far, I've gone twice, once for color, and the other a manicure/pedicure. I've been really happy with the level of service (and how I look after!) and plan on going back for follow up color/cuts, and more spa services. read more

I came to this place after having a horrible experience at a salon in Pueblo West. You do have to call a couple of weeks in advance to get an appointment. I was not expecting my stylist to come to the phone and ask what I wanted. I got there, and I felt like she (Lindsey) actually listened to me and did what I want. She offered suggestions about what to do, then fixed what I had done before and made my hair look natural. I'm wearing my hair down again and curling it like I did before! I highly recommend this place if you aren't into the overpriced, loud, and trendy. Ask for Lindsey, she's good. read more

Absolutely love Lindsey and wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. She has been conservatively cutting my hair for a couple of years, trimming away unhealthy ends and allowing for new growth. She asks questions, listens intently and has helped me have the longest, healthiest hair of my life. I didn't really have the experience that most people share on this and other sites, sad to say. First off, there was not a warm feeling of reception when I entered the salon. The owner came behind the front desk and never even smiled or acknowledged that people were sitting and waiting in the chairs to see stylists in his salon. Second, when my stylist did come out to greet me, the first thing done, as I was a new client (but I think they call them "guests") was to immediately tell me how the owner is the only stylist in Pueblo to have his own line of products and then proceeded to take me into a room where he had various bath and body and beauty products for sale. The salon is lovely and very well decorated and is very "open." That is a plus. It is clean and well lit and easy access to all areas. The shampoo station is nice, with the stylists able to shampoo clients from behind the sink, rather than stylists hovering over their clients, who stare into armpits in most other salons in town, was even more pleasant. My stylist was real nice, but I also felt like the other stylists were not allowed to intermingle and I did not experience a real sense of camaraderie with them. Very few even acknowledged other stylists and/or their clients, even with a friendly smile. And no, it was not an overly busy day. I stated what I wanted and felt pretty sure that my stylist was going to produce what i was asking for with my hair cut and color, from all that the stylist was claiming, in terms of skills and experience. However, when I got home and saw everything in the non-salon lighting, I realized it was not quite what I expected or thought I was getting. So, because the stylist provided a way to have personal contact, I did just that and expressed my disappointment at what I was seeing. The stylist had explained to me that there was a 5-day "grace" period where I could come back for any correcting, etc. without additional cost. (I did appreciate knowing that in advance.) I was somewhat uncomfortable having to call a stylist back and stating that i wasn't happy because it can be intimidating and one is never really sure how the stylist will react to a client who doesn't find their work perfect, but I made that call and I went back, explaining the issues and the stylist again talked as if the problem could and would be remedied because the stylist was skilled and experienced to do so. So, with faith restored and trust in tact, I again expected that, this time, things would be right. I had a picture to show what I was hoping for, in terms of color expectations. So, we went through the whole rigamarole once again, with all the talk that this time things would be right and the stylist talking up their coloring skills. So, here is the final outcome: my hair looked nothing like the picture I showed and was reassured could be easily done. My hair was not styled as I asked - more than once - and I am still paying for the "over-styling." I now have pastel sherbert colors of orange, pink and lavender in my hair. Definitely NOT what I wanted. I have had some of Pueblo's best stylists do my hair over the years, with greater experience and staying power and "Best of Pueblo" winners, who do not charge what this salon charges. That isn't even the issue, as I have no problem paying well over $125.00 for chin-length hair to be cut and colored, as long as I get what I am asking and paying for. However, it is an issue if it isn't done to the customer's satisfaction twice and now has to be again repaired elsewhere. I really was hoping that I could and would become a repeated, long-term, loyal "guest" of this salon, but that won't be happening now. Just as an added thought, I was not made aware when I initially booked that checks were not an acceptable form of payment at this salon, so I was somewhat stuck having to put this cost on a credit card, which I would have preferred not to and could have come prepared with cash. To sum it up, I see this as trying to be an "LA salon" in Pueblo, Colorado. Sorry, as I am happy that so many others had a great experience. I, however, cannot make that same kind of claim. And also note, I have no personal or professional axe to grind. I was simply trying to find a new salon and stylist and thought, because of all the reviews everywhere, that I, too would have that unicorns and sunshine Utopian experience here.
