My boyfriend and I came on a Monday morning around 11 AM and this place was not full but definitely getting there. We were seated right away and given our menus. We ordered unsweet tea and an Horchata latte to drink. I am not a huge fan of chatter and I feel like this blend of coffee and Horchata was amazing! The only thing that kind of threw me off was the sprinkles, but it was cute I guess. I think I would've preferred a cold foam over whipped cream but thats just a preference. I will see all of their coffees are made with whole milk so there is a substitution charge. If you are someone that prefers something other than whole milk or if you have a food allergy to milk. Also note that the only other substitutions are almond milk and oat milk. They do not have lactose free milk as an option. Now for the food, I'm not sure if it's because we went on a Monday, but our service was awesome. It was our first time there, so we did take a little while looking over the menu, but our waitress ( I believe her name was Melissa) was super good about giving us some time and coming back shortly after to get our orders. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles de Barbacoa and he added a sunny side up egg to that, and he said they were very good. He was a little jealous that his Chilaquiles did not come with a side of potatoes like the other plate lol. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with my choice of a sunny side up egg and bacon as the protein. This was super filling for me. I love a runny sunny side up egg and they did just that! No critiques on my end and my boyfriend took a bite because he was still hungry and he agreed 10/10. The potatoes were normal potatoes. They weren't too salty, and they had a flavor with the bell pepper peppers and onions that were added to it. Water tastes BAD. Service seems confused -- they don't bring you what you need until after you need it (ex. silverware, sauces). Our food was lukewarm as if they had it sitting out for a while before they actually brought it to the table. Which I believe because we waited 35 minutes for it They will tell you the price of the check without giving you the check and get it wrong. If you pay cash they don't give you exact change (shorted me .25) The 3 meat omelet was not good at all. Over easy eggs weren't cooked all the way through and still had runny whites. What a delight! We had a family brunch here on Thursday and I'm so glad we stopped by. The inside is much more spacious than it looks. There's a bar area, and the pastries are right in the front, ready to tantalize. The serving sizes are more than generous, so we had plenty of food to bring home to my brother-in-law. We were going to order something separate for him, but with all the leftovers, it really was its own meal. I had the avocado toast, because millennial urges are too strong to resist. It came with smashed avocado, charred halved grape tomatoes, poached eggs, and balsamic drizzle. I was only able to eat one before I got full. (the side of sausage helped) I ordered a cortado, turtle latte, and a pineapple mimosa. All three were excellent. The cortado and latte even came with a little orange Halloween Oreo on the side. Tres cute! My family's meals all looked great, too - especially my sister's barbacoa flautas and her blueberry-lime refresher (that even came adorned with a little spider ring). The pumpkin churro cheesecake looked really good, but we were all too stuffed to order any dessert. Maybe next time. Our waitress was also fantastic. This place is a superb hidden gem. The ambiance is delightful, modern & clean. I was pleasantly surprised & my taste buds were even more pleased. Our server, Carlos, was friendly, nice & helpful. I was highly impressed when we ordered one dish & Carlos came back & said, "the cream for your dish was too salty so we are re-doing it. Meanwhile, I'll bring you chips & salsa." That is a true professional! I ordered Chipotle Cream Chicken. This dish was exquisite. You could taste the Chipotle with a little bit of kick, but not overwhelming...Super good! The other dishes was Chicken Florentine was very good. It had a light silky cream sauce that awakens your mouth to goodness. The 3rd dish was the Poblano Chicken which was zingy, creamy & delicious. We were visiting from Houston & stopped here for breakfast. So glad we did! Everything about this place was great! The decor/ambiance, the waitstaff, the food & prices. Our waiter David C. was very attentive & helpful with some suggestions. As well as answering a few questions. Did not take any pics. Now I wish I had! LOL! The food was very delicious too! There were 6 of us & everyone had something different. Everybody enjoyed their meals a lot. I had the Spinach & Brie Omelet...so yummy! The fruit on the side was fresh & good too. The coffees were all great as well. I had the Cafe de Olla which has brown sugar & cinnamon. Very good! We were all disappointed to learn there's not a location in the Houston area. This is an excellent restaurant if you're looking for a nice place to bring the family for breakfast or brunch. The vibe is chic and relaxing and everything looks clean and orderly. I went there yesterday with family members to celebrate my nephew's birthday. The waitstaff was friendly, helpful, and patient considering that we were a big group. The orders were all correct, the portions are generous and the food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the avocado toast without the poached egg (which wasn't a problem for them) and the yogurt parfait. The rest of the part ordered the different migas plate, omelets, and breakfast sampler. Everything was so good and we all agreed that this is the perfect restaurant for brunch and will no doubt will return. Brownsville needs more places like these. read more
