I was in Roosevelt Care Center in Edison after surgery for a broken hip. The nursing staff was wonderful, as were most of the aids. One or two of the aids might've needed a little help or additional training on how to move a patient who has no ability to move themselves. The PT staff was 100%! Every one of them were kind, caring and compassionate. They made me do as much as I could without experiencing pain. They never pushed me to go further than I thought I could. I went into the place not even able to roll over onto the bedpan, and I left there 4 weeks later with just a cane. I highly recommend the place. read more

This newer building is where the hospice annex used to be, and seems to be what remains of the former Roosevelt Hospital. Visitors can sign in at the front desk on the first floor, which also has a cafe and a hair salon with very limited daytime hours. The rooms and hallways appear clean and well-maintained, at least during the day. Being a long-term care facility, some of the patients (along with some of the staff) can be unruly and disruptive in the evening when other patients are trying to rest. read more

my mother was a long term resident at RCC Edison for about 2-1/2 years. during that time she was well cared for by the staff with many of them going above and beyond their actual responsibilities. once in a while an aide might not cut the mustard but the issue was always addressed by nurses. like many places they seemed to be short staffed at times , especially in the cna area. however everyone worked hard to be helpful and supportive to my mom and to us as family. The place was immaculate with not one trace of some odors common in some facilities. the recreation staff developed multiple activities throughout the month. my mom entered as covid visitation restrictions were lifting which was great. During that crisis families received weekly or more frequent emails as to the Covid status of residents and staff. when possible the recreation staff took patients outside on their enclosed patio for seasonal activities. they have a therapy dog that visits as well. my mom passed away this ost week at the age of 95 and about half a dozen staff traveled at least a half hour to attend her services. custodial staff, food service staff, along with professional staff like nurses and therapists were amazing. I'm relieved my mom spent her final years surrounded by compassionate people once her daily needs far exceeded our ability to care for her read more

My loved one finds this place to be a nightmare. She is post -surgery weak, unable to walk, unable to go to the bathroom by herself, and waits for hours for responses to call button requests when she needs a bedpan. By calling the desk too much I have irked the unit nurse and feel it is diminishing returns to ask what is going on with my loved one's care. Very disappointed in the place, feel nonstop anxiety to have left her there and gone back to my home, out of state. I don't know if this is how all these places are, but I am a nervous wreck from the frantic distress calls I keep getting, and I am angry to have been blown off by staff when it was my turn to talk, but the nurse took another phone and didn't bother to tell me she wasn't listening to my long apology for bothering her and appeal to her kindness to understand the predicament of my old, hard of hearing, immobile relative. With some notable exceptions of the staff I observed when I was up there, the care does not seem above average to me. read more

It is a terrible place to attempt to volunteer at. I wanted to volunteer there but I lost my patience before I could do so. They made me call them multiple times even after I had filled in the application. And twice they asked me to come in and then told me that their volunteer orientation had been canceled and moved to another date. The lady at the front desk is rude and irresponsive. I just wanted to help and be a part of their community. Really makes you lose faith in humanity. If there was an option to give this place zero stars I would do so. read more

I went to the Old Bridge location of this facility to look around for my grandmother. I thought the building was relatively clean but I found the staff to be extremely unprofessional in their appearance and conversation. I then overheard a conversation with a couple nurses about their night before of partying and wanting to "smoke a blunt" on lunch. I was completely disgusted and left. I was always under the impression that nurses had to be drug tested but apparently not here. No thank you I'll find somewhere much better. read more
