The crew arrived early, worked in a highly productive manner throughout the day, finished each day leaving roof in a no risk protected condition from potential rain or wind and did not leave until all personnel participated in a thorough clean up of debris, including magnetic screening of lawn, gardens and driveways for nails. I have done construction projects in the past, know building codes and felt the crew met/exceeded my expectations. The living room was an addition, so had a flat roof compared to the rest of the home and different roofing material. Nobody could have anticipated what we would find mid-job. Not only was the ridge beam broken from snow load, but absolutely nothing in that area of roof was up to code. It was all being held up by *2x4s* and showed signs of stress. At this point, another company might have bowed out. But Cody, Luis, and Vinne took it in stride, immediately made a plan of attack, and in the end did what was best for my family and my forever home. They completely rebuilt my roof from scratch and changed the entire roofline to prevent future damage from snow and ice. The whole crew even worked through Saturday to get it done. In their defense, he always returned my calls immediately but had to postpone at least 2 times. They sent 2 workers to assess the damage and do a temporary repair until they could get me an estimate. Said it would be $1,000 for the repair and said they would credit that amount toward a new roof. The men were at the premise for 25 minutes, from the time they drove down the driveway until they left. They said that they put 3 feet of ridge vent to protect me from any leaking. The owner came by after they left to pick up his $1,000.00. (He had never assessed the damage, himself) They came highly recommended and I trusted them, due to whom the recommendation came from. While waiting for my estimate, I had 2 other roofers give me estimates and they all determined that I needed a new roof. After another week or so, Roofing Elite gave me a verbal quote of $35,000. I told him that I had other estimates and he reduced his bid to $32,500. The other 2 companies came in between $27000 and 28,000. The insurance adjuster came to the premise and said we did not need a new roof and they sent another estimator, from Massachusetts, with years of experience in the business ,and we were told that it could be repaired for less than $1,000. We hired a local contractor, who is a custom builder, and as a favor, he nailed a few shingles down and used 2 tubes of roofing glue and insisted that we did not need a new roof. I feel that $1,000 was excessive for what they did and was told by the Insurance company and the other roofers that the job should be approximately $400.00. I would not recommend this company.
