Was told twice they would come out and take a look at our roof. First time no showed and contacted…read morethem. Was told they got busy with in progress projects due to rain storm previous day. I told them no problem and was told they would be in the area that day and would swing by to take a look and report back with pictures and an estimate. That was a Wednesday, the next day I once again asked if they made it out and received no communication back. On the following Monday (still with no communication received) I got the hint that not only were they not coming out to look at our roof, but they had ghosted me and were no longer communicating with me. Not sure what the problem is, if they are too busy this time of year to give estimates, fine just let me know (as other roofers have done in the past) but to tell me they would come out no problem, then twice not only not come out but not tell me until I finally ask a few days later...and eventually just disregard all communication altogether. Luckily we don't have to worry about what kind of a job they would do as they decided for us to not do business with them now or in the future and after this level of unprofessional-ism I wouldn't recommend to anyone to do business with them.

Last week I decided to have Straight line Roofing do the job because of referrals from builders I had do a fantastic kitchen renovation. Ernie, the owner of Straight Line, knows his stuff and I found him interesting to talk with about a subject I have very little knowledge of. The men who installed the roof after taking off the old one, did a fantastic job. They were efficient, conscientious and super clean. They spent from 7:30 til 5pm, non-stop and did it in a day. I would certainly recommend Straight line roofing if you are looking to have a job done right.

Some questionable issues…read more Estimator was several hours late on day of appointment. Required several calls to get Estimator on site; reason given was "mix-up" in scheduling at office. Clue #1. Phone number for main office in NH has 603 area code (which is correct for NH); calls always went to voicemail; caller ID from one POC (returning one of my calls) was for Nevada. Clue #2. Days went by and no (promised) project estimate was provided; no calls from business. Clue #3. An e-mail to Estimator requesting status went unanswered. Clue #4. A phone call to main office number and voicemail left has not been answered after two days. Clue #5. Glad I didn't do business with them.

He also evaluated our aging roof and skylights. Instead of selling us a new roof and skylights (which he easily could have done ... we wouldn't know otherwise), he saved us thousands by being honest. He made a few repairs, secured the ridge vent, caulked a few spots, replaced some nails with screws, and said we should be just fine. Very prompt, knowledgeable, honest ... and a really nice guy to boot. I would give St. Hilaire Roofing TEN stars. Very satisfied!
