Multiple valleys, peaks, skylights and vents with curated gardens and decks below compounded the project. The project was completed from beginning to end with a high degree of conscientiousness toward quality and care for the overall property. The crew arrived early, worked in a highly productive manner throughout the day, finished each day leaving roof in a no risk protected condition from potential rain or wind and did not leave until all personnel participated in a thorough clean up of debris, including magnetic screening of lawn, gardens and driveways for nails. I have done construction projects in the past, know building codes and felt the crew met/exceeded my expectations. The quote was detailed and the work was completed to high quality standards on budget and on schedule - we got a an excellent value for our expenditure. Based in part on Owen Corning web page and in part on Yelp reviews I contacted Marsters Roofing. Marsters Roofing responded within an hour, and arranged to come within 2 days. Ephraim showed up on time and inspected the roof with ladder and drone. He replaced the damaged shingle we were aware of and replaced another damaged one that he found in different place on our roof. Now our roof is fixed and with the drone inspection we know there are no problems hidden in areas that we can't see. The cost for the repair seemed quite reasonable, especially considering that they did not install the roof to begin with.

We worked with O'Shea Builders for what would have been several small jobs. However, our primary…read morejob, a waterfall inside our house, turned out to be much more extensive than both we and O'Shea anticipated. Due to upper deck flashing that had been incorrectly installed by the prior owners, water had seeped into the walls and caused extensive damage. Jeff, the O'Shea foreman in charge, a contractor in his own right, and the person who did the vast bulk of the work, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating of our needs, as well as professional and exacting in the work. He and Warren O'Shea, the owner, offered us several alternatives of varying prices in terms of how to deal with the issues involved, and gave us the pros and cons of each alternative. The damage was addressed extremely competently and thoroughly, and a significant rainfall that occurred within a week of the job being finished showed that our interior waterfall was now gone and that has been the case since the job was finished. The other jobs within the house, cited in our home inspection, were also addressed quickly and resolved beautifully. As a side note, I would like to address hiring contractors generally, having been through seven major jobs through the years. I got what I view as excellent advice from the first two contractors I worked with. The first advice was to be aware that no contractor can see behind walls (our house was almost 100-years old at that time,) and once they break through the walls, they have to deal with what's there - and that means that if, for example, electrical wiring isn't up to code, they are legally required to bring it up to code, and doing so almost always is going to add to the cost of the job. The second piece of advice was that our quote was very specifically based on what we'd told the contractor we wanted/needed and that *ANY* changes would likely result in additional costs, so we have always been extremely careful to know exactly what we wanted beforehand and to never have changed the scope of the job. In conclusion, we were more than satisfied with O'Shea and will certainly call on them for any future work. They are exceptional - as in great - to deal with on all levels.

The final price came in over $300,000 and at the end of the job he chose to not complete the job. The work done was good, but his price was so far over what he quoted it made for a very unsatisfied customer. In addition he didn't finish the job when he said he would, which was sometime mid April to early May. He stopped working in early June and as I said before he chose not to complete the job leaving me kind of stranded. My suggestion when working with O'Shea Builders LLC is make him sign a contract where his price is his price, not this contractor mumbo jumbo excuse laden "Not my fault, man".

We had our metal roof installed only 3 years ago and it started leaking last year. Apparently they…read morenever installed ice stops and the ice pushed our vents and caused leaks through our stove vent. (This caused mold which meant we had to renovate our entire kitchen. That cost $18,000!) We did our best to calk it in the meantime for an immediate fix. Sure enough, it started leaking again into our new kitchen! When we called them about it as the roof is warranteed, the woman who answered the phone referred us to some guy named Toby who used to work with them. He gave us a ridiculous price of $1600.00 to fix the leak and install the ice stops that should have been installed to begin with! We specifically went with Burke's because of the guarantee that the dad, the founder of the company, assured us of when he came out to quote. Apparently the son does not uphold the guarantee and quality that the company earned its reputation on. I still have my paperwork with the guarantee. I want my roof to not leak. I'd rather give my lawyer $1600.00 to get them to stand by their work than to pay some dude named Toby. Their guarantee is garbage. Go with someone else. Edit: 09/25/23 I just received a phone call from Sheryl Burke stating that our problem was from a lack of "maintenance" not their work, therefore they could come out and quote us to do what is needed to fix the leak but that they are more expensive than the quote I got recently. I informed her that this is not an issue of maintenance when they, the roofing professionals, never informed us that we needed additional hardware for a leak-free roof. We assumed that they, the professionals, would know what our roof needed and would include all of this at the time of quote and install. She tried to insinuate that we haggled over price, going with a cheaper option, (we didn't) and she stated that Zach didn't do the work, his dad Mark did. Wrong again, Sheryl. Mark quoted it in June and Zach did it in October. The bottom line: don't trust them to do what is needed, don't trust them to inform you of what is needed, and certainly don't trust them to stand by their assurance of a leak-free roof.
