I have worked in the insurance industry for 10 years, first as an assistant, then an agent and…read morefinally an underwriter. I know insurance, and I know agents. I'm picky as hell when it comes to who gets my own money. I have my insurance with Randy Mitchell at Pacific International because he knows what he's doing and it's far more to him than just making a buck. He's honest to the core, hysterically funny and absolutely genuine. I rolled over my company 401k when everyone was losing their butts - and I MADE money immediately. I have multiple life insurance policies for my entire family with him, and they're great rates and great policies. The products he represents are trustworthy, have proven longevity, and are affordable as well as reliable. He answers all questions no matter how stupid and takes the time to make sure you are comfortable. He doesn't push, doesn't bug - just recommends or gives you exactly what you want. I've also worked with Ned Ingram, the owner - and he's a class act. Especially for large commercial insurance (which most agents aren't very good at) he's amazing. He's analytical and gets it done - which is what businesses need. I couldn't say a bad thing about these guys. I HIGHLY recommend doing business with them.

Truly remarkable: I reached out to Pacific, based on yelp reviews, to secure insurance for two…read morevacation rentals I own. The reception person answered in a brusque manner and asked me a question I didn't "get"-- something to do with vacancies on said properties. I told her I didn't understand her question; rather than rephrase, she asked the same question. I offered, wondering if it would help, "I'm seeking insurance for my vacation rentals. I'm the home owner." I received a why didn't you say so in the first place kind of answer (what does that have to do with vacancies..?) Then, totally unnecessarily , she followed up by telling me I should have communicated more clearly. I hung up. One of those days where you're fatigued and won't tolerate B.S. I don't judge a business based on one encounter with a front person, so I tried email. The remarkable part: None other than THE OWNER, NED, BOTH CALLED AND EMAILED TO TAKE ME TO TASK. I learned the receptionist lied, telling him I'd called her "stupid" before hanging up. I was startled by his reaction-- to immediately believe her, then to be so undiscerning as to immediately call and write me to say he is not interested in working with me. So: why should anyone else care? Because, this is what i call a "character revealing moment." This is how Ned runs his business. This is how Ned addresses conflict. This is how Ned, if anything goes awry, will deal with you. Not a class act; not a wise decision maker; not someone to give a (prospective) client the common respect that is due when you truly have no idea what happened because you were not there.

I am now saving about a $100 a month on my auto and home. The bonus came when I got to meet Dave in person. I'm going to be 100% transparent with you all. Yes, this is my first review on Yelp and yes I am…read morewriting this review as a direct response to the first scathing review. When I saw the first review by Tracy, I felt obligated to write a review of my experience with Dave. Be warned though that it will completely contrast Tracy's review, much like the one on Google Plus that Tracy believes is part of a conspiracy. So, out of the gate, if you are going to view my review as some kind of "fake" review that was intentionally put up to contrast the "first" review and won't take it seriously, then there is no need for you to read further. But if you have an open mind, by all means, read on. Tracy pointed out the following factoid: "20 [sic] years in the business and he has had 2 incedibly [sic] contrastring [sic] reviews within a week (mine first) ... ", well, Tracy, Yelp hasn't been around for 20 years and Dave certainly hasn't been on Yelp since its inception at the end of 2004. Congrats on being the first to review him though. It is an utter travesty that this man's first review was from Tracy. The reason contrasting reviews are coming up now is because his loyal customers saw her train wreck of a review and feel obligated to paint a real picture. The only thing I am getting out of writing this review is a clear conscious that I did my part to try to right the wrong that has been done to Dave. Dave has been my insurance agent for over 5 years. Before I owned a home I had my renter's insurance and car insurance through him. After I purchased my home, I continued to use him for my auto insurance and added the home insurance. I am a rather introverted individual and prefer to handle collaboration over e-mail. I rarely speak to Dave over the phone, not because he is a "coward" but because I simply prefer it. If I have a question or need to make a change I simply send him an e-mail and he usually responds within an hour completely answering my question. But if I were to have a complicated insurance issue and Dave asked me to speak to him on the phone I would, because, why not? Humans evolved vocal cords and language for a reason ... Tracy also says "After I posted this he also sent me e-mails asking me to call him to discuss this over the phone. I refused ... ", I don't understand the issue with this. How is your refusal to speak to him on the phone his fault? How is he a coward or a snake of a man for trying to rectify whatever issue you had over the phone? On that subject, I find calling someone a coward and a snake of a man on a public forum in bad taste, particularly in this case, when it is really untrue. After reading Tracy's review, I can only come to the conclusion that she came to Dave with baggage. She clearly does not like insurance agents and she obviously hates salespeople. Taking out her frustrations with her issues on Dave, whom I can't imagine didn't give 100%, is inappropriate and unprofessional. I urge all of you to disregard her hateful review. Furthermore, if you are a customer of Dave's please post your real review of the man and help push this venomous trash to the bottommost depths of the internet, where it belongs.
