beware..... prices change randomly. also seems to have a very poor memory and never can remember…read morewho you were or what car you have. took my truck in and the price went from $400 when i dropped it off to $900 when i picked it up. when i got home i noticed the transmission was leaking fluid everywhere. i called andy and he first didn't know who i was or what vehicle and tried to say i was never at his shop. i reminded him that i have a receipt and he miraculously remembered me but said "well what do you want me to do" (very rude) i had to have the truck towed back to his shop then it took him 2 days to fix the transmission leak. when i got home i put cardboard underneath to be able to see any leaks. the next morning there was a big puddle of engine oil under my truck. about 2 weeks before going to andys transmission, i had a shop fix all of the engine oil leaks and a new rack and pinion installed.the truck was not leaking a drop of any oil or transmission fluid before going to andys transmission. when i took it in to get the new oil leak fixed, i was informed that whoever did the transmission work was obviously very rough with it and had caused oil leaks from the pan gasket and rear main seal both of which were just replaced and were not leaking prior to andys transmission. the repair he did only lasted about 3 weeks and had to be repaired by a different shop. the bureau of auto repair of california was contacted and their agent crawled under my truck and stated that andys transmission did shoddy work and had illegally repaired my vehicle. they had zip tied the linkage instead of putting the bolt that holds it back in. which in small claims court andy himself said they pulled the transmission and repaired it without disconnecting the linkage which is physically impossible. this place does shitty work, lies, and does more damage than when you first bring your car in. beware.... stay away from andy's transmissions

When they dropped the trans, I was advised to change the clutch too. So I went and bought all the parts and trans fluid. On top of the parts, he charged over 1100 dollars. I finally get my truck back after about 2 weeks, and when I get home, I find that it is still leaking. So I take it back and question why it is still leaking, and he tried to tell me that I never brought it in for leak, despite that being the literal reason I brought it in, and it being on the receipt! After this I was brushed off and left hanging, so after a few months I get to bringing it back. Then, he just sprays the trans with brake clean and a bit of paint and calls it a day. So obviously I was furious so I bring it back again, where he finally fixes the leak, but then the clutch would not work at all, so it was in worse condition than I brought it. Additionally, he made a mess of my interior, left my shifter boot disconnected, and many more things a quality mechanic with even an ounce of dignity would have no problem. My clutch would not engage at all so when I call and try to take it for a 4th time, he was rude and an asshole about it. I ended up forking up my own dime and fixing it myself just so I wouldn't have to deal with this shop anymore. This is how Andy's transmission shop values their customers. After coming to a stop and looking under the van I was crushed to see my axle hanging off from where my newest CV joint was recently replaced. I did a quick google search for a mechanic and started to call down the list. Mechanic #1 was Ramon's, but no one answered. Mechanic #2 said my car was too old and to try Mechanic #3, who said it would be four days before he could look at my car and recommended Mechanic # 2. I called #2 again and pleaded for help and was put on hold "to ask the manager." While on hold, I get a call from an unknown number with a 559 area code and decide to pick it up. It was Ramon. "I'm sorry to have missed your call. How can I help?" I shared my story and he said he might not have the part today given the van's age, but the least he could do is have a look. As the tow truck pulls onto Ramon's lot, he hops onto the flatbed, examines the situation, then assured us he would be able to help! He personally supervised the repair and test drove our vehicle. In the end, he handed me a write up of what he found to share with my mechanic at home. Our entire ordeal from breakdown to back on the road lasted three hours. I'm going to buy Ramon a clock for Christmas, because he only charged us for maybe an hour's worth of work instead of taking advantage of vulnerable and weary travelers. Ramon has restored my faith in humanity's ability to help one another in times of need and I cannot thank him and his crew enough. If you live in Mendota, or are passing through and have the same unfortunate luck as me, then I would highly recommend Ramon's for honest and excellent work at an amazing and fair rate!

They kept telling me for almost two months that they were "ordering the bumper tomorrow." Tomorrow…read morenever came. I was promised multiple times by that the bumper would be ordered and the car would be done before the 21st. I clearly communicated my deadline a full month in advance, and it was never an issue until suddenly it was. They barely ordered the bumper a week ago, after weeks of excuses and delays. When the bumper was finally painted, the quality was horrible. There is extreme orange peel, uneven paint, and the finish looks rushed and unprofessional. The paint is completely messed up. When I questioned the poor quality and asked what was going on, I was told "you rushed me", which is ridiculous considering how long they dragged this out and how many times they promised it would be done. On top of all that, they give themselves fake reviews. It's obvious when you look through them -- brand-new accounts, generic wording, and all posted to hype up their own shop. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. This place is unprofessional, dishonest, and does not stand by their word. If you care about your car, your time, or your money, DO NOT COME HERE. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

We have been forced to donate the car to charity because we have been paying insurance and registration on a vehicle for over a year and a half and the car just sits and rots away. When we got there, the gentleman took a close look at the engine and determined he did not have the machine to determine the problem. He recommended we go down the street where another shop could help us. That honesty and directness would have been enough for 4 stars. They went above and beyond - a young woman working at the shop had us follow behind her and took us straight to the other shop and did a warm handoff with the other mechanic. This place might be in the middle of nowhere, but you will be taken care of like family here.
