We got stuck off I-5 on our way to LA with coolant leak at 100+ degrees, when we called firebaugh towing, Eric came with a towing truck and took us along and the car to the garage (about 20 miles). He found the issues with heater hoses to coolant, fixed it and put us back on the road to LA by 7 PM. He was professional, knew the issues, fixed it quickly and charged reasonably and gave a detailed receipt for both towing and repairs with work done. Today these guys save my butt. I went out for a sweet shooting trip at tumey hills. And it started pouring rain! Before I could pack up I tried to move my truck only to get wedged into a ditch. Called to get a tow and the tow truck driver recommended that we try Firebaugh Towing before towing my car all the way into Gilroy.This was on a Sunday right after Thanksgiving. Ben was GREAT! He showed me what the problem was, told me what he could do and what I needed to tell my mechanic when I got my car in to get it fixed the rest of the way. I cannot say enough good things about Firebaugh Towing or Ben who helped me out when my car broke down on I-5 in the middle of the night on a Saturday. No other towing company was open. I was on my way to SF so I needed to get to a hotel room and get my car fixed. I had never been in the area and without Uber/Lyft and most auto repair shops closed in the area on sundays, I didn't know what I was gonna do. Luckily, Ben not only had his driver tow my car to his shop, he had me dropped off at the hotel, then picked me up himself to take me to his shop to get my car. Our car broke down on I-5 on Aug 10th, 2015. Tow truck driver Nick was dispatched to help us and he concluded that the alternator was ruined. He told me how much he would charge to replace it and made phone calls to see about securing the part. He picked us up around 6:20 PM and drove us to the auto shop where we were greeted politely by the owner. My children and I were welcomed to wait in the office and the owner told us to make ourselves comfortable while we waited. He offered us the TV remote so the children could watch something, told us to help ourselves to cold water, and he also pointed out there is a restaurant across the street, in case we were hungry. Oh, before I forget, Nick did mention that he knew of a hotel he could refer us to if we needed to stay over night. Nick fixed our car and stayed until he finished the job. My family and I are grateful for all the help we received from Firebaugh Towing. The price was super reasonable and made this experience much less stressful. read more

Very expensive, and definetely not comprehensive. Called them to get towed to a mechanic, he took me to his own mechanic place charging me the same amount he would charge me taking to the mechanic I First wanted. Charged me the trip to the mechanic, and after I decided not to use their service and requested them to take me to LA or SF.. He charged me $1000 to LA and $800 to SF.. He laughed on our back, so I felt cheated. At the end even me using the same company he still over charged us. For me? No stars! That's for sure read more

On Feb. 22, 2019, our 2 1/2 year old Subaru Forester wouldn't start at a rest stop near Firebaugh. At noon, we called Subaru Road service. It took them over an hour to get authorization to Firebaugh Towing. Subaru said we needed to get to Fresno by 4pm to get attention. The flat bed truck was on another call so by 2:30 pm when the truck arrived, we were nervous. Inglisias (sp?) was wonderful...so professional and careful yet efficient. The truck couldn't go very fast (heavy load) so I was getting agitated. Inglisias was able to calm me down. We got to the dealer at 4:05pm, but they assured us we would be helped. Throughout the ordeal, Inglisias assured us we would get help somewhere even if not at the dealer. We had a non refundable res. in Bakersfield so were thrilled to be repaired and on our way. Car broke down on Interstate 5 at Chevron Firebaugh exit. Called my insurance company which then contracted Firebaugh Towing to take my car on a flatbed truck 150+ miles to San Francisco. It was very expensive but still $300-$600 cheaper than the two other local towing companies that my insurance company looked up. After picking up my vehicle and dropping it off at mechanic shop they charged me $300.00 dollars yelling at me saying I wasn't quoted that price. Terrible service. My vehicle broke down in Firebaugh and needed to be towed to Fresno to a dealership, about 60 minutes away. I paid my insurance company extra money so that the towing service could travel the additional miles. When the technician arrived to get my car at 10:30pm, I told him that I set it up with the dealership so that he could drop it off past closing time. This would have ensured that it was there when the dealership opened at 8am. The man told me that this could not be done because they would be closed and the gates would be locked. I assured him that I spoke with the dealership and that it would be ok. He told me he would take it there immediately. The following day, the dealership informed me that vehicle was not there. I called Firebaugh Towing and was told that the vehicle was still on the truck and could not be dropped off in Fresno because the dealership was closed in the middle of the night. Basically they never bothered to take it there because the service technician decided to not take it there despite what I told him. The man who runs the towing company, who was rude and demeaning, told that he would not take it to Fresno because I was only covered for 12 miles. I informed the man that I paid the money for the additional miles, and had the receipt via email to prove it. I had to follow up with my insurance company and they fixed the issue. The vehicle was then towed to the dealership but 3 hours past when it was supposed to arrive. The outcome was that it wasn't looked at till about 4 hours later and therefor was not able to be fixed so not only did the company lie to me about taking it there unsuccessfully, they are ending up costing me more money because I have to leave the vehicle in Fresno and cannot get back to work for Monday. To top it all off, the man who runs the towing company talked to my friend who was trying to help me and he expressed his annoyance with me... even though I as the customer was the one who was lied to to cover there own ass and was further inconvenienced. Of course, if you break down in that area, there aren't many choices, but be on alert that this place may cause additional problems for you in an already problematic situation. read more

These guys are a rip off. They charge an "arm and a leg" for their service. Our vehicle broke down on Highway 5 near Firebaugh. These guys were the only ones around. They towed our vehicle to their shop for service but was not able to get an estimate until Monday, two days later. We were charged $15/day for storage. How outrageous! We were stranded because we needed a vehicle to continue our trip. The owner, Ben, charged us $150 to drive to Fresno Airport to rent a car. That is double the Uber rate. On our way to the airport, the vehicle we were riding in died. We had to wait another 45 minutes for another vehicle. No apology or other compensation. They could have at least waived the 2-day, $30 vehicle storage fees for the inconvenience of their broken down car to the airport. In total, we were delayed 5 hours in waiting for their tow to the shop, driving to the airport, waiting for another vehicle in lieu of their broken down one, and renting a car. What a waste of time and poor service from this towing service, mechanic and "Uber". If you want to be ripped off and waste your time, this is the place!! My car broke down on I-5, my insurance company set up a pick up with Firebaugh towing. Ben was the fantastic human being who picked me up. Unfortunately, my breakdown was worse than I thought and needed to replace my part which Ben helped guide me through my options. I needed to get back to the Bay Area that night and to my surprise, Ben was more than happy to drop me off at the nearest Amtrak so I could get back home. My car was fixed within a couple of days (at a reasonable price) and I couldn't have felt more fortunate to be helped by a great person and company. You never know until you break down in the summer heat, mikes from anywhere. Then you look at your phone, using my yelp app I found this towing and mechanic shop within 20 miles of my location. I waited about 30 minutes, surprisingly fast, and they towed my work vehicle to the shop. The diagnosis and repair took a couple of hours and I was on my way. Best thing, my boss was able to handle the billing over the phone. With all of the dishonest mechanics out there, it was great to find an honest repair shop that got me off the side of the road and took care of everything! Great job! read more

My daughter and I were broke down at the firebaugh exit. The car was losing power we stared to park and the car died. We were able to get it in to a parking place. It would not start after cooling down and tried to jump it. Our insurance called to get a tow truck and he was there in 25 minutes and it was Sunday. I needed to get to work on Monday and needed a mechanic. The tow truck driver was great and said he had a mechanic on duty today. They checked the car and it had a bad distributor. $367.41 in repairs and tow we were back on the road to Oregon in about 2 hours and made to to work Monday.
