My 11 year old needed to have 7 teeth removed in order to proceed with his braces. Our Ortho suggested Dr. Gold and we could not be happier. I was nervous taking him there after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. That being said, I couldn't be happier with the office. I'm going to assume that they may have changed office staff because I found them to be pleasant, helpful and accomodating. Same thing for the nurses/assistants who helped us out. Dr. Gold came in and looked at my son's scans and while he did speak to me on what he saw, he also took the time to sit and speak directly to my son to let him know what to expect. I freaked out when he told me that he was going to take all 7 at once. The day of the procedure, I freaked again when I found out I wouldn't be able to be in the room during the procedure. However, when Dr. Gold came in, he immediately put my fears to rest when he assured me he would talk my son through the whole thing and keep him informed of everything he was doing. 20 mins later, I was back in the room and my son was doing great. My son told me that Dr. Gold kept talking to him through out the whole thing and made jokes. Dr. Gold even called the next day to see how my son was doing and to make sure all was good! Did consultation few months before the appointment in which we decided on sedation when we got to the appointment they didn't let me go inside with my daughter (17) and when I asked "are you going to sedate her?" they said "yes". In fact what happened was that they didn't sedate her only gave her local anesthesia and a laughing  gas. Later that day Dr. Gold called to ask how she is doing and when I asked him if she was sedated he said she wasn't. And when I asked why and how could it be after we decided on that in the consultation he said "it's been done I don't have time to go over the consultation again when you come for the appointment". I had 2 wisdom teeth taken out, extraction and a tooth graft with Dr. Gold. And it has been a great experience since the beginning. From the consultation, the surgery, to the post op check up. He was comforting during surgery and assured me I would be OK since I'm not very fond of dentist and I was having anxiety about everything that was about to happen. It was quick and not painful at all, just lots of tugging and pulling. Dr. Gold asked me how I was doing throughout the procedure and made sure I was comfortable. I'm not sure about what those first 2 yelpers were talking about because he presents himself very well and he's very nice and made sure I was doing great. Can't say enough great things. Dr. Gold explains the whole process during the orientation appointment. The day of the surgery we went over everything again and he answered all the questions I had. He kept me up to date with what he was doing during the surgery and explained and provided detailed typed instructions for taking the antibiotics and other medication. You can tell he really cares about his patients and he even followed up with a call the evening of the surgery to see how I was feeling. This guy is the most affected and unprofessional dentist I've ever encountered. After enduring the pretentious recorded phone greeting in order to make an appointment, the only thing I got from his staff between hello and goodbye when I got there was the paperwork and talk relaying the amount I will have to pay this and next visit. In the exam room, the guy never once looked me in the eye and seemed annoyed to be there. For someone who has performed "thousands" of my procedure, he was challenged and inconvenienced by my anxiety He clearly is stuck in the wrong field of work. Never called to see how I was doing. Thoroughly happy with Dr Gold and team... I am at the tail end of a dental implant and about to be released to my cosmetic dentist to appropriately finish off the work that Dr. Gold started. In the midst of all this, Covid19 struck and so I could not get to Dr Gold for a couple of months. Dr. Gold removed all 4 of my 16 year old daughter's wisdom teeth, and he was amazing. She was incredibly nervous about the procedure, and he and his office staff were comforting and really put her at ease. She had a pretty long list of questions she made him answer before he did the procedure, and he took his time answering them all because he knew that was important to her. The procedure itself was quick, and we were sent home with very comprehensive instructions. Doctor seriously needs replace them ASAP for a better business.I took the very first appointment at 8 AM, front office staff advised me to go 15 minutes early - I got there by around 7.45 - Door was closed.As appointment was for my wife - we had take our 13 months baby along with us - We had to wait outside to open the door in cold winter for an ample amount of time ,even though the Staff notices us - and acted like arranging stuffs. After checking the insurance , they would finalize all the ways to extract money from Insurance. WARNING: Ronen Gold was VERY apathetic during my consultation and made it VERY short but definitely not hesitant to give me an unnecessary cat scan of my teeth ($600) which my current oral surgeon said is completely unnecessary and did a fantastic job without it. Anytime I asked a questioned since he completely lacked and rushed explaining throughly anything, he looked annoyed. He quite clearly hates his job which is not someone I personally want to have as my doctor. The most accurate depiction of this doctor are all the terrible reviews. I'm not surprised reading that he continued aggressively pulling another patients tooth while they were screaming in pain. Before I could finish saying "what if I change my mind about what sedation I wanted" he abruptly cut me off with "change your mind about WHAT?" seemingly mad that I might go somewhere else. Even though my insurance almost FULLY covered the surgery, I went somewhere else that I felt safe and paid 3k which definitely hurt my pocket. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about this man then go at your own risk. Good thing I listened to my gut and went somewhere with more care and manners. read more

Outstanding dentist! Beautiful new modern office with easy parking in the back. Super professional and sweet staff. Dr. Gold is a world class dentist plus a very decent gentle person. Dr. Gold is physically very strong which allows him to remove hard to reach Wisdom teeth (cemented by lifetime of use) with extraordinary controlled strength, balance and precision. A physically weaker dentist would have taken much longer to remove my two teeth and I would have endured much more discomfort and pain. read more

I'm yelling, trying to raise my arm to tell him to stop. His assistant holds my arms down while he continues without pause. He finishes and tells me I basically imagined the intense shooting pain. I recently had all four wisdom teeth removed. It was easy to get everything set up. I showed up the morning of the surgery, went under, woke up, the nurse helped me to the car and that was that. I experienced some pain but the prescribed medication helped me handle it easily. After a week my mouth was feeling better and everything seemed to be pretty healed up for my follow up. The one thing that had been bothering me was a sharp bit of what I assume was bone or something that was sticking out of the inside of my gum and constantly scraping the underside of my tongue. Dr. Gold inspected my mouth and didn't mention it until I brought it up at which point he told me it would round out over time. Today, (three days after the follow up) I was very fed up with this sharp bit interfering with my tongue when eating, brushing or even sitting around. I was planning on calling back to get a second opinion but after a bit of wiggling I managed to dislodge it from whatever it was attached to and remove it myself. While I could just let it go, I do feel like it should have been addressed rather than brushed aside when I asked about it. To conclude, if you're looking for a dentist to remove your wisdom teeth, he'll get them out and set you up right but if you have a concern, you're going to have to be quite vocal and stubborn about it. read more

Before he could answer I said, "tell you what, Ill be the judge of the reviews...lets see how you do." This is my review. I couldn't possibly be anymore satisfied with my experience at Dr. Gold's then I am right now, and that's coming from someone who underwent a wisdom tooth extraction and root canal in under 18 hours btw. Between my short notice and ability to schedule an appointment for almost immediately, his knowledgeable and extremely friendly staff, to the follow up call I received a few hours later asking how I felt, Dr. Gold made me feel at ease with the procedure and like a regular patient that he had seen for years. I would recommend Dr. Gold to anyone of my friends who needed a procedure done, especially on such short notice and at such a wallet-friendly price. To anyone who is reading this, based on these yelp reviews...which are oh so accurate (most extremely sarcastic tone possible)...you have a 33% chance of being satisfied...but I guarantee 100% you will be more then satisfied with your visit to Dr. Gold. Dr. Gold and his staff are awesome. Dr. Gold is a great doctor very good and def fast which is a plus since most people like me are not crazy about any type of dental work. Every time I've been there been see right away and explained exactly what is going to be done. And Dr. Gold always makes sure your comfortable and doing okay during your procedure. I took my grand daughter to her appointment and was told by the receptionist that they neglected to inform my daughter that a parent had to be there so, unfortunately, we would have to reschedule. I made a new appointment and they gave me a previously filled out form and a blank one to use if the information had changed. Her Father took her to the next appointment and was advised that because the new form had not been filled out, she had to cancel their appointment and reschedule again! All the information was the same and even if they wanted a new form, there was no reason why he couldn't have filled it in right then. He had left work and made the trip from Newark and that was not taken into consideration. I believe that this was very poor service with prejudicial overtones...and my suggestion to my daughter was to find another dentist to do the work. I would not want to do business with these people, not knowing what kinds of unfair treatment we would get in future dealings. read more
