My first encounter with the office was through Indeed. I've been in dentistry for years, I've always treated staff and patients with respect and kindness. I've never worked in an office of arrogance and closed door problems. Attitude sets the tone. February 23-March 10, 2022, I was hired had extensive PC issues which I reported it was handled by their IT, then if not a few minutes later the issue would resurface. I was trained by one of the Biggest Dentistry Corporate industries on the East Coast before my arrival to this office...
with that being said...
I've always been a person that if I start training someone I finish training that person only because trainers have a perspective and a focus that needs to be carried out to NOT set that trainee up for failure. One person who was a manager helped me learn the fundamentals at my former office, then I was trained by another person who was clinical- when the first person had to move on with other duties .. seemingly this is where the problem in training occurred for me. My second trainer would call the office speak with our seasoned co-worker .. Who would then give a message to me and she would say not sure why she didn't tell you that as you all were talking. The message to resolve was an i.e the schedule needed to be adjusted.
I received notification from management via text and in person..
During training.. I was told and texted.. I had been thrown to the wolves since I started.
During training.. I was also advised verbally that I had been the 10th person in my position by a seasoned worker whom I worked with 4 days a week.. which led me to believe this position was possibly set up for failure... so WHY waste time training, it was definitely, an environment of likeness or not, but I was continuously Assured, "You are doing great. I was Thanked for my efforts."
As a former employee .. this not anger this is simply~ I'd look within my office environment~ if a culture is leaving room for #11 at the front desk... That's concerning.
In my years of experience with ... corporate and private Dental atmospheres there have been trained, years of experience with HR background.. doctors who have Seasoned reputations of over 40 years of experience in the industry .. and I've had the pleasure and honor of working with in the North and LOWCOUNTRY...all of which I have RESPECT even if a difference of opinion of their knowledge and craft.
That same respect has been given to me as well.
These doctors DON'T savor in arrogance, they are more profitable by their consistent attitude, team fit and patient focus .. which has resulted in Great REVENUE, and EXCEPTIONAL training of good/quality leaders.
ONE corporate company has even given Communication Training .. and this same company has ASKED~ Management to look in the mirror first.. filter out some (Internal) issues prior to hiring new personalities to prevent questions like the following:
Why are these individuals not fully trained as a new hire?
Why is our turnover in this position in double digits?
In terms of Schedules falling apart, a reasonable Management team.. would give reasonable understanding to their team..
that patients may get sick and/or have an issue the day of the appointment especially during a pandemic...and it may cause a impromptu cancellation & not blame .. the team or one individual, especially if they've shown efforts to work hard to schedule the doctor's chair in all offices along with the hygiene columns.
Working with Doctors can be easy or hard.
If a team takes the time to inform the doctor on reviewing treatment, scheduling and /or adding patients, but is belittled or spoken to less than a person.. with remarks of LEARN your doctor or you may NOT be the best person to talk with the patient .. yet the doctor wants the team to fill the schedule - it leaves NO room for GROWTH in learning and truly no respect for anything humane.
Lastly, TEAM work is done best if everyone when a problem arises ..
is pulled in an office TOGETHER for all sides (NOT just opinions) are equally and fairly HEARD. That's my work with the EEOC coming out. This Action of collaboration not separation~ shows in No way a HOSTILE work environment and the situation is not tainted/unworkable.
When a person is judged without~ given the chance to defend a biased decision already stirred up~ resolution will not been done... just opens a revolving door of impasse.
One should always be welcome with a fairness atmosphere and not shutout because~ they are viewed to be too nice .. friendly or has a bubbly energetic personality.
I wish this practice well.. hopefully the next person won't be seen as Just filling a chair, but seen as a person with~ feelings, who has a family ..
Basically pursue that person to do good work as long as they are equipped with side by side training prior to being thrown to the wolves. read more
