The is my initial review of many more to come, as I review my progress..... first, before we get too involved, to all who read this, I despise YELP and don't care for it whatsoever. Extortion at best. I'm making this review because of the stellar service I've received from Dr. Dickinson's practice and I believe everyone in the area needs to know about it!!! Back to Dr. Dickinson, oh my, simply the BEST by far. He and his staff welcomed me, took excellent care of me and truly care for my well being. If you're reading this, give them a call, hands down they're the best in the Savannah/Hilton Head area. I had last seen a dentist 12 years ago, and tellingly, did not have good memories of the last nor any of the many dentists in my past. So, saying I was apprehensive, well, way, way apprehensive is better to say. If it were not for the looming fact that I needed a root canal and could not put it off forever, well it wasn't easy going in. As a matter of fact, Dr. Dickinson's office was 3rd of my list. I actually went to two other places first, because they were nearer to my home. After an appointment both times, and waiting for more than 30 minutes and never once seeing the doctor or anyone besides the receptionist, I politely cancelled the visits and left. Upset, because I had wasted 2 hours of my day and no nearer to getting my problem evaluated and fixed. I called Dr. Dickinson's office and received an appointment 2 days later at 7am, which I took because I knew I was running out of time. I was late and believe I showed up 5-10 minutes after 7, but was greeted by smiles and concern as they assisted me in filling out new patient information forms. Oh, and within a few minutes, Dr. Dickinson had already walked out front to say, "good morning." Big, big impression on me!! :) BIG. Within minutes I was whisked to an examination room where Lisa was very gentle, understanding, and professional as she explained everything she did and why she was taking X-Rays. Not my first time being examined, so I can confidently critique her as doing an excellent job!! And all the while doing a great job of calming me down and making me feel as comfortable as possible. Before long, all was done, and Dr. D briefed me on my problem, and insurance coverage. I agreed and he performed the root canal (not my first) quickly, thoroughly, and absolutely pain-free!@! Wow, he was quick, never did I suspect it would be that quick and that painless!!! They scheduled me for a cleaning the following week, and I do my second review about that in another day. This note is our way to confirm the positive comments made by others about Dr. Kevin Dickinson and team. As snowbirds, we were desperate Fri. evening when my husband experienced great pain due to a cracked molar and a cavity that had worsened. We could find no week end emergency care available. He managed with the help of measured doses of aleve and tylenol and liquid diet. During the time, he phoned many nearby dentists and left voice messages hoping someone would have pity and call on Mon. One did but she said she did not do extractions. Early Mon., he continued calling others with addresses near us and learned that many either don't extract or the earliest appointment would be in April. He decided he needed to drive two hours to the VA in Charleston and take a chance on being helped. I used Siri and asked for the best dentists in Savannah and first on the list was Dr. Dickinson. Thinking we had a poor chance, yet I phoned and was so assured by Rachel, the first staff person we contacted. Concern was in her voice as she said, "Can you be here by 10?" We left immediately! Dr. Dickenson even came to the waiting room to explain his plan with me (and served me a cup of coffee). Al was attended to compassionately, competently and efficiently. His comment as we left said it all: "If we lived within 75 miles, he would be my dentist." All I can say is WOW!!!!! I was impressed from the very first phone call I made to Dr. Dickinson's office. As a new patient, I had several questions.....they were all answered very professionally and with a lot of compassion. When I arrived at the office, I knew I had made the right choice, I was not only welcomed by a friendly staff but Dr. Dickinson came out to the lobby to introduce himself as well. I had some pretty extensive work done this past Friday and for the first time in my life going to the dentist I felt no pain during the procedure. Dr. Dickinson's bedside manner is second to none, he wanted to make sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and took extra time with me to ensure that fact. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dickinson to anyone looking for a dentist. By the way, I found Dr. Dickinson via the internet. I searched Dentist ratings for Savannah Ga and he came up as the number 1 choice. I can certainly attest to the that fact......those reviews were very accurate. I had braces as a teenager, but over the past decade my bottom teeth have somewhat shifted, causing one tooth to move behind the others. It wasn't horrible, but it was definitely something that bothered me about my smile, especially because I smile a lot! After my initial visit (new patient/cleaning), Dr. Dickinson talked to me about options for correcting this tooth, and the option we decided on was called the "Essix" retainer. It is a clear retainer that Dr. Dickinson made minor modifications to each week for the past month or so until my bottom teeth realigned. I just had my last weekly visit with him and his team yesterday, and I am thrilled with the results! I understand that results can vary for individual people, but in my case, the entire process took just over a month! I have dental insurance, but this was not covered because it is considered ortho/cosmetic; however, the fact that this entire process only cost me about $200 made this COMPLETELY worth it, in my opinion! I highly, HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dickinson to anyone! He is fantastic, and I am going to miss seeing him and his team on a weekly basis! read more

We are new to Savannah and had no Dentist, what to do? It is always so hard to find someone you will like from a phone book ad so I did the next best thing, I went to the internet. I saw a line, 10 best dentist's in Savannah. I checked it out and #1 on this list was Dr. Dickenson. I read all the reviews and was very impressed by what everyone said. I thought I would make an appointment and see if what everyone was saying was true. Believe me it was!!!!!!! Everyone was so friendly and did everything they could to make comfortable. Dr. Dickenson is the best! He even sent me a handwritten thank you, something hardly ever done anymore. Couldn't wait to get home and tell Ed about this great Dentist and oh by the way honey you have an appointment next week. He thought he was great too! read more

New to Savannah had not found dr or dentist yet. And of course wake up with a tooth ache. So I turn to google. Find Kevin Dickinson and what a blessing. Going blindly into this whole thing I couldn't believe what I found. Being from a military family and then marrying a career officer been to more dentist in my life then you can count. Hands down best dentist I have ever been too. Had to have a root canal totally painless . Walked in at 1:00 and walked out at 2:30. Out of pain. Amazing he is great and so is everyone working in his office. Highly recommend him. And he even called me that evening to see if I was doing alright now how often does that happen. This place was amazing! I just moved to Savannah for school and of course my retainer broke a couple of weeks after the move. I didn't anyone here and didn't really have a lot of money, being a full-time student. I found this place by accident, or by the grace of God rather, because Dr. Dickinson and his staff were awesome! Everyone was super friendly and made me feel like a part of the family. The building was really easy to find and very clean and comfortable. It was the best experience I have ever had at the dentists and I have really sensitive teeth. Nothing hurt and nothing was tender after I left. Let me assure you, this is the best dental practice I have ever used. The staff is awesome and treats you like a friend when you walk in the door. Dr. Dickinson and his staff are top notch. The equipment and lab are state of the art and extremely clean. Dr. Dickinson's expertise is matched by his personalized approach to his patients. He takes a good amount of time to get to know you, listen to your concerns, and offer/provide a long-term plan for your dental health and smile concerns while addressing immediate issues as well. Just came from the dentist and every time I go the staff has made me feel very welcomed. It's always a pleasure to see my hygienist Lynette, she is always in a good mood. Today I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with another staff member, Myra, before Kevin worked on me. She did an awesome job assisting Kevin. I look forward to seeing her again. Dr. Dickinson and his staff are absolutely amazing. I have been to his office several times in the past couple of months and have been 110% satisfied with the care and respect I received.
