I take a historic and minimalist approach to restoring a piano, relying on craftsmanship and experience to bring heirloom pianos back to their full usefulness. I restore and rebuild pianos in my own shop myself. Only cabinet refinishing is outsourced, and even there, I personally take care of the dissassembly, reassembly, and hardware restoration. It is for kids ages 0-5, which at first I was nervous about, but it was fine. Parent involvement is needed, so if you think you are going to go and just watch, you are wrong. The class is on Saturdays before the store opens, and you need to per-register. It is an 8 week class that is about $130 for one kid and $200 for 2. The teacher gets everyone to sing songs, play instruments, and dance. My kids loved the drums and the songs. They made us all have a dance party and my little guy was rocking out to " We will Rock You" by Queen. It is nice that it is not all kiddy songs. They also were showing the kids how to keep a rhythm with drum sticks. I highly recommend this class to anyone with little rock stars!

I took voice lessons for about 2 years in high school, took a break during college, and once I…read morestarted working I decided to give it another try. I needed a hobby to help me break the (sometimes) mind numbing routine of having a 9-5 job. Although I have a very good ear and can sing in tune, I wanted to take lessons mainly to increase my vocal range. I was lucky to be under the tutelage of Carey for over a year and a half. Within that period, I've been able to increase my vocal range and build up a nice repertoire of songs based on my musical interests. Since Carey has a huge database of songs to teach from (over 5000 songs!), we covered a lot of musical theatre, pop, and some jazz. Carey's studio has very calming, comfortable, and nurturing vibe. It's definitely a great environment where you can let your guard down and sing your heart out without feeling embarrassed! The only reason I am not with Carey today is because of financial constraints. Trust me, if the standard of living in New York didn't eat away at my income, I'd still be with Carey today!!
