This review is for the caring and intelligent receptionist who helped me tremendously! My daughter developed a toothache and I was trying to find a dentist to see her asap as it was a toothache and her current dentist did not have any appointments available. I had called about 12 other dentist offices and they all did not have appointments either, as well actually the case with this dentist, but the receptionist thought about it and told me to call Golden State Endodontics in Vallejo. I called and thankfully was able to get an appointment the next day and they were able to diagnose and alleviate her pain, it ended up not being a cavity but a misalignment of her tooth. All previous 12 receptionists just told me no we don't have any appointments, but the receptionist here thought about it and went the extra mile to recommend a solution to a distraught Mom. Heading out to Portugal tomorrow AM and what happens today? I chip my front lower tooth!!! OMG it is sharp and I am freaking out that I will have it that way the whole trip. I called Dr. Tosch's office and while their schedule was packed they said to come immediately and I might have to wait for them to work me in but they were so supportive. I was there in 20 mins and out in 15 mins. If that is not fast and dedicated service nothing is!! Dr. Tosch has been my dentist for many, many years since the early 80s when he first opened his practice in Benicia. Although I have moved several times, I always come back to Tosch Dental because of their caring and professional services. (Oddly, the doctor looks the same as he did in the early eighties.) His daughter, wife, and the rest of the staff are like a wonderful family to patients. One of the best things about the practice is Dr.'s generosity. The fact that staff members stay for decades speaks well of him and his practice. Whenever I need to see another type of oral surgeon, they always remark on the exceptional quality of Dr. Tosch's work. Recently I tried again to change to a more local dentist but was told I'dneed an extraction and an implant. I drove back to Doctor Tosch, and I still have my healthy tooth. read more

Dr. Tosch and his team are simply put, the most kind and professional dentistry I have ever been to. My entire family of 5 (me, wife, 3 kids) have been coming here for close to 10 years now and we would never EVER think of going anywhere else. When it comes to our teeth and oral health there has to be a level of flexibility and care that goes along with the whole picture. Tosch and his team are not only very accommodating, they will work with you through insurance mazes, payments, alternative options for care, they give great advice and always have an open ear to listen to us as patients. I cannot overstate how satisfied we are with our family dentistry and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. With Dr. Tosch there is the "Good News and Bad News": Good News- His work is high quality and his staff is very cordial and helpful. Bad News - One needs to be very careful of extra surprise billing charges. I told Dr. Tosch that I must be aware of charges not covered by insurance(Delta) up front. (1) Several years ago I got a charge for an extra routine exam that was not covered by insurance; I brought this to his attention, he removed the charge. (2) About 6 months ago he had to re-attach a crown he installed a few years ago. I said your work should be guaranteed, in protest I paid the extra charge. (3) Several months ago he replaced a crown and gave me a breakdown of what the charge would be. He sent me a bill for extra charges not covered by the insurance.He claimed it was only an estimate in the "Fine Print". He should know what the payment is from a large carrier such as Delta. I told him that I would not pay the extra charge, because If I would have known up front I would have gotten prices from other quality dentists. I have decided to change dentists. So if you are not concerned about extra unpleasant surprise charges, Dr. Tosch is an excellent dentist. 3 Strikes and I am out. read more

Dr Tosch and his staff are the best !!! I have been going there for years, and extremely happy with their care . However, today the doctor topped himself !!! I have been suffering what I thought was mouth thrush for over two months . I used a prescription of Nystatin (mouth rinse ) for a month - now using a prescription antibiotic for a month, and no success . Went to primary doctor / who did recommend I go to my dentist - however she did set up an appointment with ENT doctor when the Nystatin didn't work, after second prescription for it . The ENT prescribed the antibiotic- also commented I go see dentist . Honestly I thought ENT doctor would help me get over this because health issue!!! Finally I got into my thick head to see dentist . Dr Tosch knew right away it was Geographic tongue!!! He also said I could look it up - which I did when I got home . That is totally what I have !!! I started the mouth spray - mouth drops and cleaning of tongue - everything "he" said to do !!! Already a difference ! ! Wow a fabulous Dentist!! You will not regret going to him !!! So kind - compassionate- and answers all your questions with such knowledge and patience. I am almost 70, and ask more than once the same question- lol Best Dentist and office staff you could wish for !! read more

I had the worst anxiety toward anything dental related after a bad experience as a kid. I have gone to many different offices for first time patient appointments and never followed through with treatment. When I went to doctor Tosch I had wisdom teeth to be pulled, two root canals that needed to be done, a oversized filling that needed to be reconstructed, and several cavities I neglected out of fear. I went through a series of fantastic dental work in a short period of time. I was always happy to return to the dentistry. I am so excited about the work that has been done. My 4 yr old daughter recently started going to Dr. Tosch, and both my wife and my daughter couldn't stop raving about the office design, office staff and service. On 5/23, after chipping a front tooth for the 3rd time, I decided to change it up and see what they could do. They were able to accommodate a short notice to get me in. Both the staff and Dr. Tosch were great. My front tooth feels stronger than ever. And their costs for services are much more reasonable then many I have experienced. That's also important to me since we don't have dental insurance. As an added bonus, this office is awesome! Having a real estate background, I think they hit a home run with the architecture and design. Well thought out. I will be back, as will the rest of my family. I went to this dental office for the first time today and had a GREAT experience. Everyone was kind and professional, and even educational. Who knew there was a right way and wrong way to use an electric toothbrush? Perhaps everyone except me! At any rate, I was schooled on flossing, brushing and on teeth whitening. I really appreciate that they do great work AND try to help you do a great job taking care of your teeth yourself between visits. This may sound elementary, but I've been to dental offices where such advice and instruction is not so freely given (as evidenced by my ebrush ignorance). And I have to mention that they occupy a beautifully decorated craftsman-style home and have retained its natural charms, including a fireplace in the reception area and magnificent woodwork. So if you appreciate good dentistry, and good interior design, I recommend giving them a try. read more

I signed up for yelp just to write this review. I have been going to see Dr. Tosch for many years. I am sad to say that I have moved and he is too far to see now. I did not realize what an amazing doctor he was until I had left and experienced others. (I knew he was good, but I didn't realize how good!) I thought he was the "norm" and that all dentist were clean, nice, well educated, organized and didn't take advantage of you financially. Dr. Tosch is the best dentist and I highly recommend him to anyone. If I could rate him more stars I would. Even Dr. Tosch's staff and office are awesome! A friend of my recommended Dr. Tosch. I was not looking forward to this appointment thinking I needed a root canal. My appointment was at 1:50 I got there a little knowing i would have paperwork to fill out. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. The office was spotless and had a real homie feeling. I had to get xrays to see where my pain was coming from. When Dr. Tosch came into the room he shook my hand and I was immediately put at ease. He couldn't tell with the xrays exactly where the pain was so he gave me and exam and found it was in my tooth that had a crown. Dr. Tosch suggested that we try a new crown before doing a root canal. He made sure that I was comfortable and pain-free. He explained everything he was going to do. I have FINALLY found a dentist that I love. He and his staff are wonderful. I have no more pain and I don't need a root canal. So if you are looking for a comfortable and great dentist he is your man. read more
