Didn't buy anything at the time but mulled it over and then called him back. He still had one of the two paintings we liked so we bought it. Unfortunately he had sold the other one. We talked about it a bit and he asked us what we liked about it. He pulled out some photos that inspired the original painting and he said that he could make anouther one like it. Two weeks later he called us and actually made two similar ones. We got to pick the one we liked better and he kept the other one. He also does comissions. Hard for me as a non-artist to describe his work. Basically oil paintings..with SF themes (trolleys, bay area views, gg bridge, down-town buildings, Alcatraz, etc). Andrea did a live event painting for our wedding. We had a great experience working with her. She…read morecame out to the venue before the event to start to make a plan for what she wanted to paint. She listened to our suggestions and took note of the parts of the painting that were most important to us - for example, we wanted a particular tree to really stand out in the final product. During the event, our guests had a great time chatting with her and seeing the progress of the painting. It took a couple of months to get the finished product, but it was worth it. We love the painting. It captures everything we'd asked for, and she even incorporated some elements that became special throughout the night - like the beautiful full moon that hung in the sky over the venue. We actually thought that given what/who we were looking for, that we might have to hire two separate people to perform different parts of our ceremony. It was important to us that our ceremony have traditional Jewish elements, be queer and feminist, connect us to earth-based sprituality, and be witchy. When we first met with Rebekah to see if she would be a fit, we couldn't believe that we found someone who we both connected with and who understood all the elements of what we were hoping to weave together. Rebekah was generous with her time, taking care to get to know us and learn about our love and our relationship, ways we have struggled, and the ways we have grown. She crafted a ceremony that truly reflected who are separately, as a couple, and as part of a community we hope to support and be supported by. As we were, our guests too were moved and touched by our ceremony and by Rebekah's ability to weave together our values, our families, Jewish tradition, and a connection to the natural world.
