I adopted a lab/boxer/pit mix puppy from the spca two months ago and I am in over my head with his energy. My boyfriend and I hired Armando and in just two sessions, I already have a whole new dog. He's learning to follow commands and I'm learning how to manage his puppy energy. It's made the household more structured and happier for everyone. Armando is fantastic at replying to messages, setting appointments, offering suggestions, etc. He genuinely cares about what he does and it shows in his teaching. I took my 4-month-old puppy to stay with them for 3 nights. The woman on the phone was very sweet and said I could bring his crate and crate cover since he sleeps and eats in it, I could bring any toys he might enjoy, and his food with instructions on how much food he gets and when he normally eats his meals. I felt very comfortable dropping him off because the same woman was there and loved on him and assured me that he would be fine and well taken care of. My husband and I returned to pick him up, and the man there asked if we were here to pick up our dog. My puppy's crate was already outside in the waiting area, but his crate cover was not on it and it was a different blanket. I heard yelling in the back, telling dogs to "keep it down," and our puppy emerged dirty and frantic. I had to ask about where his things were and the man asked me what I was looking for. I told him we came with his crate, a crate cover, his towel inside his crate, and some toys. They emerged wet because he said they got soiled (which our dog has never done in his crate before), and he said their dryer wasn't working. I asked why my pup's food container looked like it hadn't been touched. He said that "dogs typically freak out when they're boarded so we only gave him as much food as he would eat." He was STARVING when we got home and fed him. I was really hoping this would be a good experience, especially as first-time boarders, but we will never be boarding our pup with Rompin Rovers again. read more

Had a bad experience a year or so ago here where I picked up my dog and she was covered in urine as were her belongings after a week long stay. Wrote an email asking them to make it right before posting my issues and Chris was kind enough to do so, refunding my money and promising to speak to the staff. Saying they would like another chance. Fast forward to this week, I want to get my dog in some day care and call and I'm told to come in and fill out intake forms, which I do and I'm advised that Armando advised to tell me they are 'full' because of bad reviews I had posted prior. I never posted anything because Chris was professional and made it right. Now it seems like maybe the situation a year ago and the treatment today is how this company does business. read more

I have 2 young and very active dogs (Golden Retriever and a mix bread) that I take to Rompin Rover periodically for doggie daycare. They love it. They're excited to go in when we drive into the parking lot. I have used the overnight services on a few occasions and my dogs come home happy and clean. They get to play in the doggie pool and love it. I'm glad I found a place I can be comfortable to leave my fur babies. read more

for daycare.. Had great customer service by phone. In person, I gave simple instructions for feeding-- feed her about 12:30. When I picked her up later in the day, I learned that no attempt was made to feed her until just before I picked her up (4pm-ish). How do you mess that up?? *Highly recommend Rompin' Rovers!!!! My son's girlfriend rescued a Papillon 2 years ago, but when they moved in together, he started acting aggressively every time my son would approach her, being an extremely possessive and territorial little guy. Since I live alone, I thought it would be a good idea to bring him home with me. Since then, twice I've had male workers come in for different reasons and he charged at their private areas. And he charged at one of my neighbors (male) when visiting. See the pattern? He also demonstrated a bit of aggressiveness towards other dogs in the building. All this probably to history prior being rescued. I started looking for places nearby that offered dog training, even though he was well trained, maybe there was an underlying trauma that might be corrected with training. Finally found a place, called and Armando, the owner and dog trainer, offered to do a free evaluation. That free evaluation was around 2 hrs long! FREE! That was 5 training sessions ago, and he is doing so much better. I did not expect for it to be a quick fix. As Armando mentioned we had to go back to basic training in order to tackle his aggressiveness. I have been leaving him for training sessions and doggie daycare and I could not be more pleased. When I pick him up he's so happy and so tired and the same time. Armando, Emily and Chris and very welcoming and helpful, as well as very caring. You can tell they are dog lovers! The fees are straight forward. Daycare pricing is very competitive. I want to be brutally honest, at the beginning I thought the training fee was a bit high, but I was desperate. Just a few weeks into his training, after seeing the improvement in such a short time, and how much Armando cares and all the extra time he puts in, totally worth it. He takes time out of his busy schedule to give you an update. And when you pick your fur baby up, he shows you what he worked on that day plus trains with you, so you can follow this at home. The place is extremely clean considering the fact there are so many dogs there. As I said before, I highly recommend this place. I have worked in different fields of customer service for many years, and having said that, I don't recommend places lightly. They work with your baby, with you, to make sure you get what you paid for. Not only is the customer service outstanding, the way they care for your baby, it does make this place perfect for you and your baby! read more

My dog Benji loves going to Rompin Rovers to play with the other dogs. He has been going for over a year and has stayed over night several times. He always runs right in so I know he is looking forward to his day of play. He loves Chris and the staff and is always happy to see them. I know my dog is safe and well taken care of and he sleeps great after a day with the other dogs. I highly recommend Chris and Rompin Rovers as a good place to take a dog for a day of fun and socialization. read more
