It has a serious Brooklyn vibe - thank you, hipsters of the world. If you're at all into vintage clothes, arts, jewelry, maps, antiques, home decor, and bric-a-brac, this is the mecca for it. I've never seen this much vintage merchandise in one location! Make sure to check out the underground vintage market halfway through the street, because if you're into shopping at all, you'll find tons of second-hand designer clothing and accessories. The food options literally left my jaw dropped, and the same will happen to your Instagram followers. The crux of it is geared towards Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi cuisines and dollar stores (hence the unofficial nickname, Curry Lane), but you can find all sorts of shops on the street, like chocolatiers, donuts, a world-famous cereal bar, Lithuanian food, Ethiopian food, Middle Eastern food, and more. There is so much personality and eclectic energy to Brick Lane - I can't recommend it enough that you add it to your itinerary!

It's an eccentric mix of shops and stalls, but everyone is quite friendly and they're all very happy for your business. Easy to navigate, the market has two parallel aisles that run from one end to the other. But if you're too tired or you already bought a ton of stuff, you'd be excused if you only do one aisle. Conveniently located, the market runs next to the Hammersmith Underground line, between Goldhawk Road and Shepherd's Bush Market stations. You can't miss it.

Actually, it's not all second-mortgage shopping here - there are some 'normal' shops too, they're just a bit nicer than most high street equivalents. There are oodles of places to get a snack on the way round, like Starbucks etc. and there is a giant foodhall with choices for the discerning and not so discerning among you. On that note, a trip to Bluewater isn't complete without a trip to Ed's Diner - have one of their awesome burgers and a spectacular milkshake to find out why. Just make sure you eat when you're finished shopping though as you will just about be able to stagger to your car afterwards with the feeling in your belly. If you go at Christmas there are some superb lights outside as you approach the car parks - giant deers are among the best ones, but be warned, it can get super busy there too. Ample parking means it's not such a chore to go and the whole place is big enough that you don't feel crammed in - it's akin to a lot of the big malls in the States, and one of the best shopping trips (if there is such a thing) you can make in this country.

Each part of the triangle has its own name, i.e. Rose Gallery etc and there are maps located at every point of the triangle, if you can't find that particular shop. There are plenty of eateries and restaurants to choose from with something for all tastes. There is McDonalds and Burger King but also Loch Fyne, TGI Friday's, Carluccio's, Nando's etc. The centre itself is light and airy with high ceilings and a feeling of spaciousness, even on a busy day. There is masses of free parking too. Shopping isn't all that's at Bluewater though - there is a multiplex cinema (10 screens I think) and if that's not enough, you can even do some boating outside and feed the fish!

My wife and I visited the Strutton Ground Market while we were on a trip to London in April 2019. We had just visited Westminster Abbey down the street, and my wife told me about a great street market that we could stop at for lunch. She had studied abroad in London and knew her way around the city pretty well. There were so many delicious-sounding food vendors that we had trouble picking. I decided to order from a Middle Eastern food vender called Falafel Zaki Zaki. I ordered "The Whole Shebang Wrap" which was stuffed with falafel, eggplant (aubergine), salad, hot peppers, pickled vegetables and white sauce. Just as I was about to take a picture of the delicious wrap, the vendor posed for the shot and had me cracking up. That wrap was so good!! My wife found a cool Indian street food vendor and ordered some Samosas and a side of Chicken with Rice. We ended up sharing all of our food and were very happy with our choices. We'll definitely stop again on our next trip to London.
