Chai Guys - vegan chai and cardamon bun. So yummy!

Still a 5 star market but Donovan's Bakehouse has gone downhill. The doughnuts have been stale there over the last couple of months at least and the staff are ruder than ever! Definitely avoid, so many other dessert options in the market.

Went to Wicked Fish Spitalfields for our first meal after landing in London. Had been to Mayfair Chippy on a previous trip which was phenomenal but wanted to try something new. The fish served here is haddock (I prefer cod), and was a very large serving. Fish didn't have much flavor but was cooked well. Woman behind the counter was rude. Wouldn't come back here honestly.

The Spitalfields Market is a great, and large market with many vendors selling a huge array of things. It is in a covered market area, but open to the outside and with buildings housing numerous other shops and eateries all around it and in the middle. We found sellers of interesting new clothes of many kinds, vintage clothing, old records, posters, arts and crafts, and more, plus many vendors with food. The esteries and drinking places around are varied and there is an incredible amount of food and rink of many varieties to choose from. We were there between Christmas and New Year's Eve and there numerous outside places to sit and get mulled wine or similar festive drinks.

Great place. There were many places to choose from to get a bite to eat, There are many stands and trucks but also several sit down restaurants.

Hours on Google Maps is wrong, so we travelled here for nothing.

Absolutely a waste of time going here via the Tube. On Monday, Feb 17, 2020 at 5 PM, ALL of the stalls were closed down or being packed up, despite it supposedly being open until 8 PM on Mondays, according to Google Maps and their official website.

Really cool place to visit. Tons of locally owned shops and vendors. A great place to get the real London experience and away from the more touristy areas! Go to dirty bagels the pulled pork was incredible! Also the Banky pink car is very nearby! A must see for the contemporary art lovers!!

12/08/2018: Discovering riding Bus #35-Shoreditch from Elephant & Castle will happily take me to THE first Diptyque Retail Store I have visited globally and upon getting off the bus, I noticed Bus #205-PADDINGTON stops right in front of Spitalfields Market's entrance via Primrose Street, too . . . Well, that's something worth emblazoning within my critical thinking skills should another egregious rush hour prevent any of the Tube's Stations becoming forcefully closing due to commuter congestion, i.e., like I experienced on 12/5/2018 when the JUBILEE TUBE TRANSFER FROM KNIGHTSBRIDGE WHICH WAS FORCED CLOSING DUE TO COMMUTER CONGESTION WHICH I MUST ADD LEAD ME TO HOOFING TO HYDE PARK CORNER CATCHING THE BUS #148 HEADING TOWARDS VIA MERCY PARK (There was an amusement park via the Bus #148's Bus Stop) ONLY DISCOVERING THAT BUS STOPPED OPERATING-AUGH~I hoofed over 1/2 MILE catching another Bus #148 in order, returning to where I'm residing in London! Anyway, I purposefully chose riding Bus #35's Shoreditch Bus Route in order, arriving at Primrose Street Bus Stop, i.e., this part of London I haven't bumbled or skulked to date; specifically buying one Diptique product: The DoSon, roll-on parfum since, Harrods doesn't carry the roll-on parfum as part of Diptyque's product line exclusively sold at Harrods. I realize I began walking the Spitalfields Market via the exterior street of Primrose Street in order, hoofing the distance from Primrose Street to Commercial Street truly expedient, i.e., shorter route; however, with no realization, NO IDEA OR CLUE what was inside this huge place I saw from the left, exterior POV. On the right side of Primrose Street, I saw and stopped by Space NK first checking if, this retailer has what I'm seeking purchasing; sadly, this retailer didn't have the roll-on I wanted: I immediately exited the store attempting finding Diptyque's retail store somewhere located on Commercial Street but, where? I finally found Diptyque via 113 Commercial Street-EUREKA-I found DIPTYQUE~YAY . . . After finishing my most important mission purchasing the Diptyque DoSon, roll-on parfum and exiting the store, I began strolling towards Primrose Street discovering, noticing a side, wide entrance on the right: My curiosity was highly piqued, inquisitively began peering into what looks like a humungous warehouse . . . Reiterating, I didn't have no idea what was inside this huge warehouse but, I was determining discovering I'm going to start bumbling going inside this side entrance: EXPLORING ANOTHER NEW PLACE . . . Ohhhhh~What is in this area, eh? Surprisingly, I began slowly perusing all the Merchants' booths which truly are captivating my inquisitiveness, i.e., an amazing visual and palette overload: Antique Japanese Kimonos, Japanese hand-made dresses, leather goods, artisan painters, hand-made jewelry, hand-made throw rugs, hand-crafted blankets, and everything a creative human being might create is IN this Spitalfields Market~WOW! I noticed foodies flocking, devouring, INHALING the PLETHORA of food trucks' numerous, expansive cuisines within Spitalfields Markets' massive, sprawling, spanning five to ten blocks . . . Surely, Spitalfields Market is absolutely a fabulous place spending the entire day . . . perusing EVERY ISLE of Merchants' wares . . . Formidably, possibly going bankrupt, penniless from buying everything in each of the long isles of myriad of whatever you DO NOT NEED~lol.

Lovely marketplace filled with local venders. Easy access from the tube and totally tour worthy. The surrounding area is awesome for those wishing to explore London's finest shops, bars and eateries. It's great for both kids and adults no matter your interests: desserts, cosmetics, burgers, vegan food, cocktails, t-shirts, jewelry, fine furs, fedoras, souvenirs or just cool photo opps...Spitalfields accommodates. Give it a whirl. ~Christy

The Market is picturesque with lovely flower carts by the entrances. Historically, Covent Gardens were the gardens for the convent. Today, the beautiful enclosed market hosts various vendors that change regularly. The market is a great way to connect with locals. We went to the market four times during our visit. On Sundays, various art vendors set up and we visited with a local fossil dealer and purchased a couple fossils. We loved our dinner in one of the nearby cafes. On Mondays, antique dealers set up and sell various treasures. My husband bought me a vintage bracelet. We also watched a quintet play in the atrium. We found a few reasonably priced souvenirs to take home for gifts. Plenty of great restaurants surround the Market. We ate at several places and enjoyed our meals. For any one of my friends traveling into London I always recommend veering off a little to Carnaby. Over the years some shops have come and go but some of my favorites remain open. I'm a huge Great Frog lover and their shop is nearby, also for us rock n rollers I can't help stopping into The Rolling Stones Uk store. Lots of major branded stores but also cute local vendors and stores. It's a very walkable street and safe. Plenty busy so come earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Another pro tip is catching a reservation at dishshoom down here as I've found it easier to snag a reservation here than at their other locations. Plenty of dining options though and local stalls like Starbucks and Joe & the juice. It's a touristy street of shops but I love it - definitely bookmark this area on your must shop / see list when on this side of town.
