3 friends celebrating a birthday. Waiter has a terrible cold. We inquire about the time he had been sick, Day 2 = he is contagious. I ordered from their weekly feature menu (chicken cordon bleu). About 10 minutes passed and the waiter tells me the kitchen had run out of hollandaise. We went at 11:30, so when did they run out? Should they not have alerted the waiter. Apparently not. He suggests a substitution (same sauce as their box tie pasta). I do not like tarragon so I said no. I ordered fish and chips. The waiter never asked if my friends wanted to wait for all orders to come out at the same time... My 2 friends got their meal. I insisted they eat. Mine came when they were almost done. The waiter never asked if we wanted more water, forgot ice for one of my friends and when I finished eating, he said "just the bills?" He did not offer coffee or desert.... Anyway... When we came to pay, he tried to do small talk with me. Why? So the tip would be better? Sick, shows no concern for his clients and then wants to engage in small talk. Nope! I am NEVER returning here. Although the food was good, the service was lousy. A contagious person should not be allowed to touch plates, cups, cutlery that they are handing their customers. A waiter should check in with patrons at least once. And should try to figure out what else they client may want, other than the bill. To boot, they did not even comp me my soda water!!! Romeo is expensive but there pizza is amazing had a some with my family before and it was great. The service is normally pretty good. And the place is normally kept extremely clean fun restaurant to go with the family. read more

I have never left a yelp before but this deserves one. Our Large reservation arrived at 5:30pm and were sat in a unventilated area in the back corner. Right away our server said not to worry he had experience with large groups and an automatic 18% tip would be applied to our bills (this should have been the first red flag). Drink orders were soon taken and table numbers assigned, 15 minutes later drink orders were retaken as he forgot. I ordered a coffee my friend a tequila drink. Drinks were brought and my friend had to order a shot as it tasted like no alcohol was put in. 7pm rolls around and the waiter shows up again chewing gum with an open mouth and takes our food order, by this time kids were starving and some people had left. 7:30ish food starts rolling out appies and meals mixed. waiter stood in the middle of the room yelling out the orders asking who it belonged too. After the last dish was placed he makes a big announcement. The kitchen and Bar were now closed, no last call or food add ons were allowed. As this was a 50th Birthday party and most of guests were servers and bar staff for many years, this did not go over well at all. After my meal I had to asks for a refill on my coffee as no one had come around to offer since my time of ordering . Food was just OK. Service was one of the worst I have ever had. I will never recommend this restaurant and I retell my horrible experience when ever the opportunity presents it's self. A huge disappointment and waste of my hard earned $85. read more

Calamari and wings expensive which would be okay if it taste good. Calamari was bland, thin, fishy tasting and expensive. 8 small wings for 18$ which were bland. Pastas were also very bland. Pizzas are pretty good if you're not a picky pizza person. Maybe it's better dining in if it is more fresh. read more

Hands down the best pizza in Duncan, not to mention their hot baked pasta dishes as well. Plus they have the tastiest and freshest spinach salad with the most ingredients I've ever been served. Scrumptious! Also have friendly and fassssst service, clean, pleasant atmosphere and kind, caring staff. Special thanks go out to Eialeen and Joanne who always make us feel like family. Menu choices are consistantly reliable, if you enjoyed your meal the first time, it will be just as good the next time too. It's delicious food that tastes like it was made with that special kind of love from Mama's kitchen. :) read more

Romeos's always has excellent fresh food! We have been going there to eat for many years, and we have never had a bad meal, they are always consistent with good standards, and the place is clean, comfortable, nice atmosphere, and like I said awesome food.. keep up the good work Romeo's read more

Food was bad, service was worse. Complained about the food to waitress and she said she loved the food. Management did not come and talk to use just gave us 15% off the order. Not impressed will not go back again. Did I say the food was bad well it was bloody awful. read more

Horrible. French fries were greasy and tasted like cardboard. The meat on the pizza had a disgusting smell. I ordered the chicken club and it was soggy and lacked taste. The bill for pizza, chicken club and 2 soda drinks was $54.00!!! read more

Romeo's continues to rest on its "best pizza in Victoria" awards from the past. But the pizza quality just isn't very solid. It was greasy and had TOO many toppings on it. Like all pizza, it was better the next day after about 10 minutes of convection baking. read more

I've gone to Romeo's a half dozen times in the last several years and I've consistently found the service is excellent, the food is very good, and the menu is huge. Great desserts, in particular. They're open later than most other conventional restaurants in Duncan too. I don't think anyone will ever say "Romeo's is my favourite restaurant" but it's dang solid all around, in my opinion. read more

Last Saturday, I spent the day and evening with my daughter. We have been Romeos customers for many years. We ordered The Spinach Special and Kalimari to be delivered. The pizza, when it came was hot and tasty. The Kalimari was undercooked, lukewarm and inedible. I called to tell them and they said they would deliver more right away. The second box arrived within a half an hour. There were less Kalimari in it than the first time, and these also were lukewarm and less cooked than the first time round. I called again to tell them and apparently everything was cooked perfectly by the chef and we must be wrong. It all ended up in the compost. So, yes. By all means order pizza but give the kalimari a miss unless you really enjoy raw squid. read more

This is a very good restaurant in Duncan, with great service. The last really good dish was chicken fajitas and it was perfect, and there was a lot of food. The spices were just right. We eat there once a week and always enjoy the food and the friendly service. The individual pizzas are very good. read more

Went there today. Haven't been in a while. Used to go as a high-schooler 30 years ago. We were out for a carb-load prior to a big ride tomorrow so I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Waitress clearly got the order wrong because I got meat sauce but no meat balls. So I called over a waitress and explained who then brought me two meat-balls, the amount of meat balls for an add-on but not the three meat-balls with the menus item. When I explain I'm told "the kitchen says only two meat-balls are normal" but that's not what the menu says. the menu says : Spaghetti & Meatballs Signature meat sauce, three house-made meatballs & asiago cheese So I told them take the meal back and I'll pay for it. They come back and say, as if doing me a favour, that the meal has been deducted from the bill. That's its. No real explanation or attempt to make amends, no "we're sorry but we hope you'll come back". Just made to feel like an unreasonable customer. Our dinner was ruined, I still left a tip, but I'll never be back and I'll be sure to spread the story. And by the way, the spaghetti looked hard, but i never tasted it. If i could give zero stars I would, but I have too give them one. Poor service and total apathy from the wait staff. read more

We would never go back here and will make sure to let anyone we know not to go there. We had a large group and they were very disorganized. The one waitress was rude from the start and very unfriendly. I have never been to a restaurant where all the adults got their meals before any of the kids. The food was not good at all and certainly not worth the price. Not only was the service slow when it came time for our bills the computer wasn't working. It took at least 15 minutes to sort out the bills. To top it all off because we were a group over 10 we automatically had to pay a 15% gratuity. Worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. The snarky waitress even told us we should call the owners and let them know, so we will! read more

Worst Romeos on the Island! Our pizza was greasy and burnt! And our pasta was under cooked and bland. The hostess was rude, and refused to accept our complaints, replying "its edible".... We ended up paying for food we couldn't eat!!!! We will never eat there again! If we ever return to a Romeos resturant it will be in Victoria, as the food has always been good there. read more

There's a reason this restaurant is number 38 on the list. I take clients there once in a while on my business trips from Victoria. The food has become boring. I took a business associate for lunch there today and while the server was at tentative enough it wasn't very busy. When asked how I liked the meat lasagna I had I explained "it wasn't up to your usual standards" as there was very little meat in it and didn't finish it. She seemed surprised and said she would let the kitchen know. Needless to say, nothing was said again and she brought the bill (with the lasagna on it) and no explanation as to what happened. When I went to the front to pay the bill the manager ignored me while she went to clean another table. Obviously this restaurant is badly run and the staff have no guidance or authority to change things. Needless to say I won't be back. I suggest folks go to one of the locally owned restaurants such as Just Jakes because they try harder and appreciate your business. read more
