I was at the office in July 2015 and never went back. The hygenist was not gentle, actually very aggressive and she scraped at me front teeth so much I was convinced that she took enamel off. I had xrays done but no other work. I do not believe I even spoke to Dr Romeo. They did tell me I needed work done in the future. As I left the office I was handed a bill and paid it IN FULL. About a year later I receive a letter that they goofed and forgot to charge me correct amount and that I owe them $34. Ummm. I paid in full. Imagine going out to dinner and a year later getting a bill for the side dish they forgot to charge you for? I don't think so. Today I rec'd a letter that they are giving me a final warning before sending to collections. I have the original bill and copy of check proving I paid in full at the time of service. DO NOT GO HERE!! STAY AWAY!! Dr Romeo literally broke my tooth on a consult. He was so jittery...running back and forth from room to room, beyond overbooked. His legs were bouncing uncontrollably. He was so harsh on my mouth...did I mention this was a consult and I had brought xrays with me...He slammed my two teeth over a dozen times to prove how strong they were. I left the office sure this was not the place to go (separate note it was not clean, hairs and gook on counters, machines very old). When I got home that night the front of my tooth fell off when I bit into pizza! PIZZA! This DR? literally broke my tooth. When I called the next day they told me he was too booked to see me and even though he broke my tooth there was nothing they could move in his schedule. I saw his associate Dr Genna whose explanation to how this happened was " I cannot speak for Dr Romeo, however since the front is broken I have to extract it, I'll order you a flipper from the lab" I was in such shock I actually paid Dr Genna $450...all the while Dr Romeo still would not come in to see me. Also, he wanted to do a bridge. I flew out of that office and saw an oral surgeon and a endodontist who both said the tooth does not have to be pulled out!! PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!! Worst Dentist ever ! Want for a cleaning and X-rays . Do ctors turn to come in look a the days and do a quick exam . Well, he never showed up for his appointment so we left making an appointment 3 weeks later to fill a cavity . I arrive on time ,after 45 minutes. Asked the nasty fron desk girl how much ch love ne'er and told the doctor isn't here yet . Really ? How do you not showing your appointments? I've had enough of this office and will be switching dentsts as of today. 9:00 am appointment, front door was still locked at 9:10 (this happens A LOT). I was the first person there and at 9:45 still hadn't seen a dentist!! I don't even know if he/she was there yet. Poorly run office with consistent lateness opening the building (every a.m. appointment i've had building is not even open yet at 9:00am). Front desk less than friendly with poor attitudes. All of my visits, the hygienist calls my name to come in and then disappears. I'm always guessing which way/room they went. How about walking with your patient to the room?! Once my hygienist stopped to answer a text on her phone and actually told me it was "just her husband looking for some love". I haven't had any extensive work there, so can't review the actual dentistry (I've NEVER had Dr. Salvatore). I've let it slide for so long because I'm only there a few times a year for cleanings or occasional cavity. But every visit is an uncomfortable, frustrating, time wasting experience. read more

I have a fear of dentist and i came here to finally get work done girl over the phone said to try and have my nd prescribe me an anxiety medicine for the day got the anxiety meds went in and was refused because i didn't want to do a cleaning she said sorry i'm not comfortable working on your root canal it's a big one okay well i need it fixed and i think i have an infection she referred me to somewhere else , i told her they don't take my insurance to please fix whatever needs to be fixed and that my dr isn't just going to prescribe me th meds again she said that's fine i'll do it i said oh you will she said well the place i'm referring you to will i told her dr romeo would fix it what is the problem she began to laugh at me and i went livid i will admit i called h r an gil person , there was also a patient in the next room complaining about her terrible bed side manner this so called dentist was rude and inconsiderate knowing i'm terrified to even step foot in there and i was calm and collect until she was laughing at my "irrational fear" welp i cursed her out and left she also made a comment stating it must be a full moon the crazies are out .Umm what if i have a mental disorder in real life ? doesn't matter ho crazy a patient acts they shouldn't be spoken to like that since she wouldn't prescribe me an antibiotic for my infected tooth pretty sure what she did is illegal don't doctors have codes and ethics apparently not this one i have never in my life been so infuriated by someone the way she was smirking and laughing and mocking me welp i left there with an infection and i'm not sure were else to go , i don't understand how i can be treated so unfairly i have 2 infected wisdom teeth and gaping hole in my tooth and terrible pain and she referred me somewhere that doesn't take my insurance and is closed on fridays real nice it's not the first time she was rude to me she made me leave once before without treatment and a swollen face i had to beg my dr for pain medication , i admit mayb i shouldn't have snapped but how about you don't deny your patients care they are entitled to or let them leave with pain inflammation and an infection !!!! or to make fun of me. I am a new patient to this office I see dr. Stephen Genna. I have previously seen him at another practice. He has done a lot of work on my teeth and I get compliments all the time. I think this office has an excellent front desk staff and Dr Genna is a great dentist he has great bedside manner he's efficient and he calms all my fears. This is a terrible dentist office. The staff there called me today the same day as my scheduled appt and said I had to come early because the dentist I was seeing was leaving early. When I explained I specifically requested not to see that dentist anymore the girl didn't seem to understand me. The whole time I was talking to her ,there was a man telling her what to say next to her. He never got on the phone. I made this appt weeks ago and said I did not want to see one specific doctor there who was rude, and hurt me on my initial visit there. Since then I had seen the woman doctor. Now they call me to say I must go back to the first dentist I saw!!. I was going for one issue and the girl kept saying I had to go back to the dentist that I complained about and who hurt me. Now I have no appointment and need a new dentist. Don't go to them they don't care about the patient. She just kept talking about money and the lab. I was going for swollen gums !! It's hard to say with this guy, he takes my insurance in full and when he does the work he does a good job. The Endodontist is awesome, but his schedule is tough. Most of the time the wait is 40+ minutes, it's so tough to deal with, I have to find a better place. I realize there's always going to be a wait but there just doesn't seem to be any care on a patients schedules. It's frustrating to say the least. read more

I started seeing Dr. Melissa Cartagena and she is absolutely wonderful. She is very thorough and explains every step while working with you so it's not a wonder what she's doing. I have never come across a dentist this informative and caring. I come all the way from centereach which is a 45 minute drive to see her. I will definitely be back and recommend her to everyone. The first time I called the office, I was told they weren't taking any new patients. The second time, I was given an appointment. When I went in for my appointment, the front desk staff was brash and rude, the office was dirty, and most of the staff came it to work as I sat in the waiting room for half an hour. During my appointment I wasn't even seen by Romeo Salvatore, but his son (I think) who didn't even do a complete exam/x-ray before suggesting I do two emergency root canals. He suggested I do the root canals NOW since it was so infected. But he had only taken one xray photo of a chipped molar, so I asked if he should a) take an xray of the whole mouth to get the complete picture, and b) if an endo should do the root canal/draining of abscess, etc. He told me he didn't need to see the rest of the mouth on xray, and that my infections weren't too big of a deal and I didn't need to see an endo. I told him that he was inconsistent: my infections were so serious I should get root canals now, but they are not a big deal and I don't need to see an endo. He then went into the back, and he and the front desk staff audibly talked shit about me. I told them I was leaving. On my way out, the front desk staff asked for my copay. I told them that my dental plan doesn't have a copay, and they started shuffling papers as if looking for evidence otherwise. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I will not come back to this office. read more

Stay away. Told me that my son had 1 cavity and then when we went to have cavity filled I was told he had 6 cavities that needed filling. Got into a fight with the dentist and left after he filled first cavity and was informed for need to come back for the other 5 fillings. My son just returned from Dr Dory Stutman down the block and was informed that his teeth were fine and he did not have 5 cavities. I really think Dr Romero's office has no integrity. read more

I've been a long time patient there. I only stay because I hate going to the dentist and I like Fatima the hygienist. My biggest complaint is how dr Romeo rushes through everything he does. If you need dental work he comes in all hyper and talks you, Numbs you then leaves then goes to next patient then comes back to finish. He rushes through it, like he has somewhere else to be. I feel like saying please slow down it's not a race, it's my teeth take your time. He also worked on my child and messed up his mouth so bad he need 2 extractions and 3 cavities filled. I now take him to a pediatric dentist, I was told dr Romeo was a pediatric dentist, apparently not. We are not happy with Dr Jenna either. He likes to watch tv while he drills your teeth and rushes too. He started to work on my husbands wrong tooth and my husband had to stop him. If they are that rushed they should not book that many appointments in a day. Every patient deserves the attention of their doctor and not to feel rushed. When you rush you make mistakes. read more

Went there today called this morning cracked my tooth last night was in alot of pain they had me come rite in treated me rite away was told my tooth needed root canal after taking x-rays they tried to fix it today but I could not handle the pain prescribed medication.told me to start rite away and have an appointment next week to finish up the job !!!! Dr. Romeo is a great dentist and most of his staff are polite and capable. However, Susan, the one in charge of billing is nasty, rude and very unprofessional. Often times she makes mistakes on the billing and is obnoxiously rude when she talks to patients. Dr. Romeo should let her go before he starts loosing patients. read more

Completely livid right now with this office. I paid up front for my crown using care credit. Usually the promotion is a deferred payment option where you have 6 months to a year to pay interest free. I use for my vet bills, its fantastic. But what does this office do?, they put me into a promotion that charges me a daily interest at 14.49%!!! You'd think they would say something when I was asking them for a deferred payment plan. Luckily I logged on today to make a payment and discovered what they did. Are you kidding?! I would have written a check or used a regular credit card. How do you do that to a patient and not tell them? Paid the balance in full minus the interest. Now I have to chase this office to correct the matter to dispute the interest. BTW got the crown two days ago, had 9:30am appointment didn't get called in until 10:30am. Not the best place where patient experience is concerned. I liked Dr. Genna but this is bullshit. That promotion was the likes of loan sharking! read more
