What an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! For our Wedding, my (now) husband and I were in the middle of the trifecta of doom, as far as transportation was concerned. We live in South Brooklyn, his mother lives in South Brooklyn and my parents live in Jackson, NJ - We were getting married in downtown Brooklyn and had our reception all the way out in Woodbury, NY, Long Island in the evening. All of this, and so many people don't drive! David, Louie and Andrew of Romantique Limo helped me through every step and every decision. They didn't attempt to mislead or overcharge us in the least. We came to the Bay Ridge location on a Sunday afternoon to do some limo research for our May wedding. Although some of the limos and SUVs were out on the road, we wanted to actually sit down in some of the other models to see if it would fit our needs, and to discuss pricing. The staff was very helpful and did not push other models if we weren't asking. We ended up selecting the size, color, and model we wanted and left a non-refundable deposit. Bottom line: If your having a wedding ask for Sal to be the driver. Heres why Sal is the best: 1. He was a life saver on the day of my wedding. First, i forgot the bouquet in my apartment and locked my self out of my apartment. While i waited in the limo frantically calling my landlord to get the spare key Sal was waiting in the hallway of my building for the landlord. The landlord let him in he grabbed my bouquet and my keys for me, locked up and saved the day. 2.Then he made sure he was holding the umbrella over me the whole day cause it was pouring rain heavy. Made sure i stayed dry the whole time. 3. I had a cathedral length veil with my dress. Sal made sure to carry it under the umbrella and help me inside the church to make sure it was all sitting right. 4. They are tough-nosed Brooklynites so if you are not from around here originally don't be offended by their demeanor, they are really nice! They have 1950's black or white Caddy's for weddings, basic limos, high quality 18-passenger limos and huge party busses that fit over 35 people for parties. I just recently brought them a thank you card from the wedding because they wanted to put it up on their wall in the office with the rest of their clients. We went to the Staten Island office (at 2041 Hylan Blvd.) and dealt with the Manager there. He basically reminded me of a used car salesman pushing limos off on people. A few months later I called to make an appointment in mid-April because I was going to be in Staten Island (we live in Manhattan) to go over specific details/times etc. after I made the appointment with the secretary I got a call from the manager asking WHY I was coming in. I explained the situation and he immediately told me that they "don't EVER do that, because brides are always changing their minds/the weather/etc. etc. he would only talk to me the week before the wedding." Immediately that turned me off. Don't tell me what I'm going to do, I'm paying you to do us a service. So we went in a few days later and I won't get into specifics but the Manager and my fiancee (now husband) got into a screaming match (essentially I asked to change one of the cars, he told me I was giving him an attitude, my husband got defensive) eventually the Manager walking out because he was too upset to work. Eventually he took one of the cars off and listened to what I had to say but it was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I never heard from them the week before the wedding and just hoped for the best. The day of the wedding I was nervous the limos wouldn't even show up. They did show up on time and were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I found out later that one driver refused to let my new 10 year old niece into the family limo because he didn't want her in the car without her parents (even though her grandparents were in the car). He yelled at her to go with her parents in the van we had rented. She is very shy to begin with so she didn't answer back and just ran away. Anyway, between the Manager being the most unprofessional businessman I have ever dealt with and the Limo driver being rude to one of my guests I wish I could give negative stars. The only thing I can say they were nice about was letting us cancel a car- but I'm sure they were able to rent it right back out again. We recently had a work night out and we booked a luxury coach bus as far as us having enough room that we had. As far as the driver being courteous and very nice to us - we had that too.  We did not have the driver being on time which since we had to be at the club we had booked at a designated time --- that was a huge problem. We did not have him knowing his way around the city we got lost even with GPS - one of us had to map quest and help him - we found out he was new afterwards.  As I stated a really nice guy we enjoyed friendly and very courteous just probably still green around the edges and he was learning the ropes. End of the night being told there was overtime for him when the overtime was his fault and we had to fork over extra money that was not coolness.  All and All an okay experience I guess not sure I will try it again. read more

Just went to check out limos. They were filthy, similar to the time I saw them at the bridal expo at Dyker Golf Course. Not impressed and very disappointed. Overpriced and small selection. When they couldnt help me (completely booked on my date) I asked for a referral to another place to which I was told. " I really don't know of any other limo place. I think we're the only ones in Brooklyn." Any decent place would have recommended another company to help a bride out. I hired this limo company for my wedding. I picked out a white Chrysler 300 for my wife and her bridesmaids and a black stretch Hummer for the groomsmen and I. The day before the wedding the limo company called me to confirm the Hummer was to be black, not white. I thought that was strange to confirm one limo, but not the other one. Also, 24 hrs before the wedding was strange...besides the worry I heard in his voice. I confirmed that I did request the black Hummer and the conversation ended. On the wedding day the black stretch Hummer arrived to pick up the groomsmen and I. I thought it was strange that the limo pulled up across the street and the entry door where we would enter the limo was facing the other side of the street. We took pictures in front of my house then began to file into the limo to head to the church. I then noticed the huge dent on the side of the limo. Now it all makes sense, the phone call the day before, they were hoping I would forget and just accept the white Hummer. Parking across the street to conceal the huge dent. Unfortunately for the limo company the church is on a one way street and the limo was forced to face one way and reveal the huge dent to all. All who came to the church noticed the imperfection, including me. I did not want to ruin the day so all I did was tell the driver to tell his boss to expect a very angry and disappointed phone call in about a week. I received money back but it did not make up for the mishap. Luckily I had a bunch of friends getting married in the following years...and none of them used Romantique...AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! read more

It is unfortunate that I have to write this review because my wedding day was a dream come true aside from the choice we made to use Romantique. We ordered an antique limo for my father and I to arrive at Church and for my husband and I to arrive at our reception. The moment my father and I got inside we noticed the AC was not working. Once in front of my Church I waited in the limo with my father for 20 minutes while all the drivers stood outside (I assume because it was cooler outside the vehicle then it was inside). At this point I assumed the drivers were preparing the Church with the aisle runner. Wrong. I walked into the Church to NO aisle runner. The Church (although beautiful) looked naked and none of my pictures came out the way I had anticipated. Upon leaving the Church we reentered the now scorching hot vehicle they provided. After only a couple blocks my husband voiced his dissatisfaction to the driver (Rich who was lovely). Rich told us that we could join our family's limo and get in ours a block before we reached our reception hall. What? If that was what we wanted we would have arranged for that in the first place and saved money. Once at our venue my husband realizes they didn't even send our family the car we asked for. We paid for an Escalade and got an Infiniti. Two days following our wedding we called Romantique to let them know what happened. We called twice before reaching the owner, Tommy. Tommy tells us that he is looking at our contract and that we went over by an hour which was not true, in fact we were 45 minutes ahead of schedule. He then excuses himself and said he was looking at the wrong contract. Nice try. He says he will call back and never does. All I was hoping for was perhaps an apology but he wasn't even able to provide that. As business owners ourselves, we understand it can be uncomfortable dealing with unhappy clients but it is an owner's job to accept responsibility when a client is not pleased. read more

I tried to book Romantique for my wedding. I was getting married on a Thursday in the day and wanted to book a party bus. I doubt they are very busy usually during that time, so you would think they would be eager to book a job for that time. Think again. I called a few weeks prior to my wedding and discussed options and pricing with them. I wanted to come in to see the bus and sign contracts. I called them every day for a few weeks and they kept telling me to call back tomorrow because the bus was unavailable. Finally, a week from the wedding I realized that I should not have to chase down a vendor. I called another limo company, they were more than happy to show me the bus and I signed them on the spot. We booked the Chrysler 300 stretch for my daughters prom. There were 10 kids in all and they fit well with room to spare. Sal was the driver and he was the nicest guy. He met us all at Whitestone Park where we were taking pictures and exchanged cell numbers with me, my wife and also my daughter as she would be the group contact with him for the night. He assured us that our kids would be safe in the limo. He's a very responsible person and very organized. The kids said he was so nice to them and made the limo ride just perfect for them. The drivers at Romantique are so unprofessional it's ridiculous. We booked a limo for our wedding well in advance and went over all the details prior to the wedding. We only booked one limo and they were picking up all the guys and bring them to the ceremony and then coming back for the girls. I paid in advance with the required tip included and everything was supposed to have been sorted out prior to the wedding day. First, the driver NEVER called to tell me he was at my hotel to pick me up. 45 minutes after they were supposed to be there, I finally called and asked where they were. My husband text me an hour before telling me he was already there so I should have been picked up soon. I'm told the driver had been waiting for me. How am I supposed to know he's there while in a hotel room if he doesn't call?!?!? I'm then told the next day that since the driver when through the Battery tunnel he needed an additional $11 and proceed to ask all of my groomsmen when dropping them off for the money. One even gave it to him!! If he desperately needed this money, why was I not told when I payed a week in advance? Was it necessary to harass my bridal party for money on my wedding day?? I used Romantique/Double Diamond for my wedding on August 4. I ordered two limousines (a 28-passenger party bus and a 14-passenger Expedition), as well as a car to bring the bride to our church in Brooklyn. We weren't the easiest customers, as they had to make two stops in Staten Island with the Expedition to pick up the bridal party, bring those passengers to Brooklyn, use the three cars for church in Brooklyn, and then bring us to our reception in Garfield, New Jersey. I could honestly say they were on time for every single stop and did exactly as I hoped they would. Our driver of the party bus, John, was especially very nice and extremely accommodating. After leaving the church, he discussed routes with me and let me know that the city would be a little backed up due to a street fair. We decided upon the dreaded SI Expwy, which by some divine act was EMPTY at 4 PM on a Saturday (someone was looking out for us, I guess). The office manager, whose name I forget, was very friendly and helped us the whole way through even when we had to do changes with addresses. I highly recommend them. Great service. read more

I used this company for my wedding on 11/28/15. The limo driver was supposed to pick up the groom and groomsmen at his house, drop them at the church, then come to get my bridesmaids and mother. The driver didn't show up to my house until 2:20 when I was supposed to be at the church by 2. I had known the guys were dropped off at 1:40 so he got lost and wouldn't admit it. Instead he told me my soon to be husband was drinking at his house and wouldn't get in the car. He then put down LIME GREEN tape to secure the runner in the church which is absolutely absurd because that is in all of my pictures. He then had a leaky roof in the limo that was dripping on my mother-in-law and his solution was to put more duct tape over the spot to stop it. They then proceeded to have the lights and music flicking on and off and spent most of the ride in darkness. I would never use this company again read more

I used this limo company for my wedding and although they did their job, the level of professionalism was not up to par. When the limo arrived to my house, he was early which is fine, except instead of ringing the bell once and/or calling me, he decided to ring the bell incessantly for about 10 minutes. I live in a co-op building, not a private house, so with photographers and an entire bridal party, it was difficult for me to run downstairs. My husband, sister, and mother tried answering him on the intercom and calling his cell phone but he didn't answer. Instead he continued to ring the bell while I was taking my wedding photos in our apartment. I would also love to know why the limo driver was asking me if I wanted a runner right before I was about to walk down the aisle. Really? No, how about I walk on the slippery church floor. Why weren't they prepared when I confirmed this numerous times? I wish I could say that was the worst part but then our limo driver decided to complain about his life to us. Um, I don't think anyone wants to hear all about you right after they get married, this isn't a cab ride. I also want to mention the Staten Island office is horrible. The salesman there only tried to pressure my husband and I into renting the most expensive limos so we went to the Brooklyn office instead. While they did the basics, i.e. driving safely, getting us to our destination, etc., considering the prices we paid, I expected something better than the basic service, perhaps drivers who are a little more polished. read more

He helped us with our bags, gave us a bottle of champagne and helped me into our car with my train. The whole process was smooth and flawless, from the original phone call I made to them to the wedding date. The worst limousine company I have ever dealt with! They ruined my wedding day! I reserved and paid for an antique vehicle for my wedding day months in advance! I was very clear on my desire to have that specific car as a prop for my wedding pictures and I told them I would not take another car. I was assured that my requests would be fulfilled. On my wedding, the car was late and when it finally arrived I realized that the DECEITFUL SHYSTERS sent me a 2011 car instead!! I was furious! I got married 2 weeks ago on July 21, it was 97 degrees that day. I had 1 rolls Royce, 1 expedition, and 2 Chryslers. Every limo including the rolls Royce did not have air conditioner. When we pulled up to church everyone was dripping from sweat it was unbearable. The drivers were all nice, but that is unacceptable that we all arived to church that way. The heat was so bad my husbands mother had to get out and call a car service to take her. Let me start off by saying that the only reason why this limousine service got ONE STAR was because the limo was on time and took us where we needed to go. My friends and I booked this limo for prom and we had the package for 13 hours. When we first met our driver, he was nice and we really liked him. He turned out to be a STINKING LIAR THOUGH. We went to afterprom and we knew our 13 hours would end half an hour before the afterprom cruise we booked did, so when I got into the cruise, I called our driver to let him know to leave. It was the first time in the night that he didn't answer, so I suspected he was just driving and waited for him to call back. He DIDN'T CALL BACK, but since I was at afterprom, I forgot to redial again! When we got out of afterprom, we saw him STILL THERE. We went up to him and told him that we tried calling him but he didn't answer, and he said he probably fell asleep! THAT'S NOT OUR FAULT, AND AS A LIMO DRIVER WHO KNOWS HE NEEDS TO PICK UP SOMEONE, IT'S COMMON SENSE TO CHECK YOUR PHONE WHEN YOU WAKE UP! He still charged us for the additional hour, which was another $140, and what's worst is he tried to scam us even further! He offered to drive us back to a friends house near where the limo service was in brooklyn and he said he would "TRY TO AVOID TO GOING INTO THE NEXT HOUR", but he took 30 minutes just to go down to the train station that was at 34th street even though it was at the next exit! We would've definitely gone into the next hour and he would have charged us another $140! Seeing as to how we contacted him and BOTH OUR PHONES HAD PROOF, I WOULD SAY THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY PHONY, and IF YOU NEEDED TO PICK A LIMO SERVICE FOR PROM, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! read more

Just a word of caution - ask questions! We used Romantique for my son's wedding, but it came as part of a package with the catering hall, so we did not pick them out ourselves. Very early on, they told me we did not have to make arrangements until two weeks before the wedding. When we went there about a month before, we were told that all they had was a car that would fit 7 people. We had 10 in the bridal party, and expected an 8-10 person stretch limo. I inquired about renting a second limo and was chastised for not coming sooner and told they had nothing else available. Long story short, I was promised a call back from the owner, which never happened. I called back a week later, and was told that it was "assumed" that we wanted a white limo, and that's why we were getting one that fit 7 people. Since it really didn't matter, they swapped it for a black stretch that fit 8-10. (funny how that was available). I asked about a runner, and was told I got that from them, but they never mentioned that I had to request one and pay for it! So of course the driver didn't have one in the car, and we did without. Small point, but annoying. Since I wasn't in the car myself I can't talk about that experience, but even if it was wonderful, I would never recommend this company to anyone, based on my dealings with them. My other son is getting married in a few months, and I will certainly make sure they do not use Romantique. read more

Minus the fact the driver got lost, made me 40 minutes late for pictures, and tried to rip me off for tolls, the cars are very nice. We had 2 vehicles (party bus for the girls and an SUV for the guys). The girls had no problem and arrived to the park on time for pictures. We had a different experience. Limo picked us up on time, picked up my parents from the hotel, then was supposed to go to the park for pictures. When I realized we had been in the car for too long he said "well this is where the GPS is telling me to go" He took us through Newark and stopped in some shady area, finally realizing he was wrong. The photographer that was following us wouldn't get out of his car, fearing for his own life. Finally he re-entered Verona Park into his GPS and miraculously a different address and new directions popped up. Eventually he agreed to give us back the additional 40 minutes for free, since he went 20 minutes out of the way. Later, when we arrived at the venue and we were finalizing the bill, he tried to hit me up with $120 worth of tolls. I was quite livid at this point and asked for a breakdown, which he didn't provide and he finally said since the cars were coming out of Brooklyn I was getting additional tolls. I refused to pay since I booked the cars out of Staten Island. He re-ran the tolls and it came to almost half the cost. Honestly, if we didn't have the issue with getting lost and he wasn't so coy about it, I would have paid the $120. So, word to the wise when dealing with them: a) make sure your driver has the correct address and knows there he is going b) don't let them take advantage of you for tolls, they definitely pocket that money read more

Romantique was a large part of why my wedding was so amazing. The prices were good, the service was great, and the limos were beautiful. My roles Royce got stuck behind a moving truck on the way to the church. The driver got out of the vehicle and was trying to help them move whatever they needed to get us where we needed to on time. He played here comes the bride multiple times during the drive. This car was also great as a photo prop. The party bus was huge and fit everyone spaciously. I have encountered many companies that it's either way too hot or too cold, which is more important then you would think sweating in a wedding dress. I was nothing but comfortable during the two hour ride out to Long Island. The music was great too. My parents also had a limousine that was upgraded by the company last minute.
