It was one of the best reunions we've ever had and having the beach across the street was perfect. You have kayaks and paddle boards to use and it really felt like we were right at home

A few small things to consider- do not expect world class paddle boards, there is one SUP paddle that functions and two old paddle boards- kayaks seemed ok. The walk to the beach does require crossing a busy road, but once there it IS a nice beach, but you must bring all your own gear, including beach towels. There are not any beach rental chairs, etc. nearby. The wifi did not seem to work for us, the fan in the spare bedroom had a short apparently so my first night trying to sleep, it got up to 78 degrees in the room as we could not adjust the temp on the thermostat, the couch is not comfortable, the streaming buffered, so it took a couple hours to get that to work, there is a neighboring house with a large dog barking and although they warn you, I find it strange for the nightly price ($336/night!) to offer a small soap and shampoo. There is a washer, no dryer. The blankets were thin, beds were decent and the place was clean. There are no screens on any of the windows so you can't really get fresh air and there was a wasp nest above our bathroom window so definitely didn't want to leave a window ajar while showering. There is a "no refund" policy, so you are stuck there as we had wanted to check out after our first of two nights. There are not any walkable restaurants nearby. We were offered a couple of free nights to make up for all the mishaps we had. All in all, there were nice chairs and solitude by their water's edge. I could see a family enjoying the grounds and playing the outdoor games they had, but for us it was a letdown for the price. I think some people would be perfectly happy here but we had a lot of stress upon check-in and so many things not working properly.

We visited this spot about two years ago when it was in a smaller space and have been dreaming of the Gumbolaya since. When we arrived in Titusville we about cried when we saw the restaurant wasn't there. Not knowing the name we couldn't google the place. But Thankfully the nice folks at the hardware store knew exactly who we were talking about and told us they had moved to a larger space off the main road. We of course ordered the Gumbolaya which was as great as we remembered! We also had the beet and goat cheese salad, debris fries (fries could have been crispier) but flavor was bangin and we ordered the cheese cornbread which was moist and magical! The chefs husband waited on us and he was truly just an amazing human and made our experience that much better! It's clear he loves what he does and believes strongly in the food they put out, for good reason!

When we arrived, I thought it was really like somewhere in New Orleans. That was very cool. We walked around the place and it had a ton flare. We finally ordered some food. Appetizers were nachos, Boudin balls, and the garlic mushrooms which were the best. So good we ordered two. We then ordered our dinner. Shrimp and Grits, smoother chicken, catfish, and a few other things. There were 6 of us. Everybody seemed to enjoy everything ordered. I lowered the service to a 4 star bc of the slowness on checking on us and finalizing our order. A one off in sure. This place is real cute and of you were just dropped in here, you would think you were in MSY. The food is good. Entertainment was good. I will be coming back and bringing others with me.

Harry P Leu Gardens - New cafe! Can't wait to come here to get some work done

I found out the Leu family donated their family land hoping to share its beauty. Unique gardens with plenty of shade. Great for all ages, including toddlers. It is fenced in with lots of areas to picnic, if that's your thing! There's a small cafe for coffee, ice cream and a few snacks. On certain days they have infant and toddler reading time (20minutes long). The first Monday of each month is free entry however there are no guided tours. Check their website for more info!

If you love nature, you are in for a special treat as this garden has hundreds of plants and flowers all very clearly labeled. Sprinkled throughout the paths are funky bird houses and information on the birds there which sing non-stop in the background which is mesmerizing to sit on a bench by the brook and listen to birds and water, like I said, a special treat. I located a new bird to me, the gila woodpecker! The house museum tour is full of local Florida history and the house is beautiful with many interesting details like the children's back stairs and the bathrooms have original tiles and fixtures! The bathrooms are accessible, clean and well stocked with supplies. The map gives a clear idea of where you want to wander to and where you might want to stop to take in nature. One of my favorite places with sculpture added to the gardens along with specialized gardens for cocktail ingredients, salsa garden, chutney garden and tea garden! Fun! Many fruits and herbs as well. A must see if you love the outdoors, birds, plants, flowers, gardening or the peace that nature brings. A must see!!!!
