Decided to go Italian this time, it was our friend Jackie's birthday, she had eaten at Romans Place one lunch time and said she had enjoyed her experience so a table was booked. On entering the restaurant we were warmly welcomed, the place was very full for a Sunday night, but this was as we found out was because of two large Christmas dinner party's (More Later). The menu had a varied choice, what you would expect from a typical Italian restaurant, and also there was a good selection on the specials board. Food arrived promptly and was good, the restaurant decor was very nice although pretty plain. Prices were about right, also the two for one meal offer was a good deal. But the only downside to the evening was the very loud noise from the Christmas diners who were shouting and screaming a lot of the time. Now I am not against anyone enjoying themselves but it was very excessive and spoilt what would have been a nice evening, but to be fair to the owners they did apologise when we left although it was not their fault, but we would defiantly try it again hopefully next time it will be quieter. read more
