We both have vivid and wonderful memories of drive-ins when we were kids, and we figured our children would never know the joy of watching a movie on a huge outdoor screen. I'm so thankful for the Amusement Park Drive-In, even though it's just one move per screen now. We got popcorn and snacks and filled up on water at the counter. I know the place, inside and outside needs major maintenance and fixing up. But it's still a great movie theater. It serves all the normal snack goodies, seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room & the auditorium is quite large. At a cost of just $5 per person, it's a real bargain & a truly place to take a date, the whole family or just go by yourself & enjoy the ambiance of a past decade. Add the professional super friendly staff at the concession stand & it's hard to beat. Not to mention the smell of real movie theatre popcorn that waffs through the doors & down the sidewalk just begging you to come on in. Add the friendly small town meets, greets and "how's the family doing" conversation & you're taken back to the good ol days when life was a wee bit more relaxed & easier. Highly recommend to all!! I understand equipment problems happen, but customer safety and comfort should come first. Sitting in cold temperatures for over an hour isn't just uncomfortable, it's a health concern. What made this worse was the lack of response to the situation. No effort to move guests, offer refunds, or even acknowledge the issue. It felt like profit mattered more than people. I truly hope management addresses this, because no one should have to endure that kind of experience after paying for a ticket.
