I would rate 10+ stars if I could do so. If you need a root canal or a partial one please go here. Especially if you are like me and are scared of dentists you will like this place because the dentists there are very nice. The two ladies at the front desk are comforting as well, even if I talked to them only at the end of the appointment. The x-rays are also not as painful as the metal ones. And the three dentists who worked on my canal were very nice to me and were comforting me basically as they worked. They also let me hold my bunny the whole time which I really appreciate! Thank you for numbing me and taking care of me, and especially for also giving me medicine to take before I left! I appreciate everything you guys do! :) Also I will come back here if I ever need another root canal or something similar done! Love you guys! Sending love your guys way and God bless all of you!

I was scheduled to meet Carolina cucco at noon. The office called me and asked if I could come in earlier. I complied only to wait in the waiting area for at least 15 minutes. The egos in this office are palpable! Upon going to have a cbct x-ray taken the office technician proceeded to argue with me about my gag reflex. And insisted that she knew more about me than I did. Upon taking my blood pressure it had skyrocketed! Wonder why? My meeting with Carolina was worse. The condescending manner in which I was addressed further exacerbated my stress! She recommended that my tooth be extracted. She was not willing to examine any other options! Even with that being the case, she was not going to be the person that would pull the tooth but she sat there just insisting that I listen and obey her edict! I will seek another endodontist that is more experienced and knowledgeable! Someone that will try to alleviate my concerns and show empathy and compassion.

On June 24th, 2004 I had my appointment for a root canal and Dr. Racek reminded me about possible outcomes and also reassured me that the procedure wouldn't hurt and ya know what?!? He was right. He applied the gel that numbed the area for the needle and told me I'd feel a little poke but I felt nothing at all. The last 2 injections I felt a teeny bit but that's not even worth mentioning here. (Although as you can see, I did mention it here.) They let the anesthesia set in and soon Dr. Racek began his work. His calm and confidence rested easily on my mind, and he'd reassure me telling me things were going well. The 2 gals that assisted him showed perfection at their own jobs and they worked together supremely well. All 3 of them, really. I was told the procedure could last an hour to an hour and a half, but with the expertise and the perfectly scripted requirements of each of their positions, they were done in just over half an hour. I was in awe, dumbfounded and amazed at the end of it. Done so soon? Wow! Not to mention I was very happy, too. Back at home the anesthesia wore off after a bit and I had no pain at all. Who can recommend Dr. Racek at the Root Canal Specialty Associates in Livonia? *Raising my hand* I hollered "ME!" One more thing ... I don't think I properly thanked Dr. Racek before I left but I am very thankful for him and his abilities and this is my thank you to him right here Thank you!.

The dentist decided to use a " light dose" of lidocaine to start (no valid reason). I had extreme pain in the middle of the procedure for no valid reason. Numbing gel was applied to my daughters' gums and he tried to get her to open wide to numb her mouth with the needle. After a few tries of us trying to get her to do so, she was crying and scared, and the dentist reply was "I don't have all morning to sit here and fight with her I have more patience". My daughter apologized as if she did something wrong. I let her know that she was not wrong for being afraid and I let the dentist know it was EXTREMELY unprofessional for him to make a comment like that in front of a child and if he had something negative to say he could have took me in the hallways as the parent, as she's already an afraid child in a dentist chair that's going to be more afraid when she feels your energy is negative as if she has done something wrong. He let me know I can reschedule and I told him we would never. The nice assistant cleans my child up, we checked out and left. If the dentist is not kid friendly maybe a practice would be not to take children as a patient!

Dr. Speirs provided me with TWO false diagnoses: while I sat in the dental chair, he told me that I…read moreneeded a root canal. He also added that I had decay in the subject tooth. I got a second opinion, and it turned out that I didn't have decay--no decay at all--and that all I needed was a tooth filling to fill in the crack that initially broke off part of the tooth. About one month after the visit, he billed me for an additional amount, after I paid-in-full at the desk before leaving the office, for having one x-ray, and talking with him for less than 5 minutes.

I would have given this business a 5 star review if I was basing it solely on the work performed…read more Dr. Speirs was kind, efficient, and did his job well. I'm giving this a 2 star rating because I continue to be in agonizing pain which is a continued response from dental work that would have best been put on momentary hold. I sought out EA during the COVID-19 crisis. Like millions of other Americans I was laid-off and struggling financially to make ends meet. I was pissed that a tooth emergency for which I had no dental coverage had arisen. I have no doubt the dentist was able to perform a root canal, or two as the case happened to be. There were, however, extenuating circumstances that needed to be considered. I have a cyst in my sinus sitting directly on the root in my back tooth. I had to borrow money from a family member to even pay for the services I received. I stopped Dr. Speirs before he did the second root canal and pointedly asked him if I should wait to see what my ENT recommended before doing the procedure given that my money was extremely limited. Meaning I HAD NONE! THIS WAS IT! AFTER THIS THERE WAS NONE LEFT! I can't recall his exact response, but somehow I ended up having the root canal first and then following up with my ENT. Long story short, my root for the tooth in question ends in the middle of the cyst in my sinus. As long as it's penetrating it in any way I'm going to be in pain. A LOT OF PAIN! My ENT recommended I have the tooth I had just spent my last $1750 on be removed. Boy am I pissed! I tried following up with EA to let them know what is going on, and to express my obvious and legitimate dismay. I have not been rude or irate with them. I just let them know the facts. After a few phone calls, the last of which I was told they would get back to me, crickets! Nada! Nothing! I stopped the dentist! I asked him point blank if we should wait for the ENT to weigh in! I was happy to wait, would have trusted them to hold onto the money they already had, but no. Now I am in need of yet another dental procedure I absolutely have no money for, and EA has failed to respond. If you know exactly what you need, have no extenuating circumstances, or have endless supplies of money at your disposal EA is as good as any endodontist. If not, do your research first, make sure every other thing that could possibly be wrong is ruled out first, and then take the plunge because once their work is complete, whether it helped or not, EA is nowhere to be found!
