After being in the hospital for almost a month, my spouse told me she had been bed shopping, since I was told I could no longer floor sleep Japanese style as I done for years. She said wait time would be two weeks, and I needed to sleep somewhere (the couch was the temporary answer), so the same day I left the hospital, we went to Romaine's even before getting home. Wyatt immediately welcomed my spouse back, and was very understanding of my walk and weakness. He took us to his recommendations and I tried them out. An adjustable bed, as I did like raising my head and feet. I picked a Tempur-Pedic, expensive, but likely to be our bed for quite some time, and perfect as I did long term home recovery. Wyatt kept us in the loop and managed to get the bed to us almost immediately once the order arrived rather than wait for an assigned delivery date. My life this year has been drastically changed by some major medical issue my spouse endured. Until his double by-pass graft surgery followed by a stroke we were floor sleepers. We slept on shikibutons. They were ordered from Japan via Amazon. Sleeping this way was incredibly comfortable and restful. However, with a restriction of no lifting more than five pounds - yes 5# - after his heart surgery sleeping on the floor was not an option. He weighs more than five pounds and so he could not lift himself up once he got down. After his stroke we knew he would need a bedside to sit upon as he got his bearings to get up. We had tried many mattresses in the past and none of them were hard enough to give the support we both wanted. We like hard beds. Occasionally on vacation we would luck out and get a hard bed - we considered ourselves lucky. I have a friend who sleeps on a Tempur-pedic adjustable bed so I had a direction which is why I choose Romaine's. I was greeted by Wyatt Parks and he was wonderful! Wyatt was low pressure, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had a lot of questions and he had answers. So I tried lots of beds at Romaine's, wrote lots of notes, and left to do some thinking. The decision would be up to my husband as his sleeping needs are greater than mine especially as he's healing. He had yet to be released from the hospital. After my husband had just been released from Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at EIRMC. Romaine's was on the way home and we needed a bed. It would take two weeks for us to get one so he said we might as well go look. Although he was weak and needed his cane he was a trooper. I had narrowed down the choices to what I liked and thought he would like as well and he tried three beds. One was just right. So that is what brought us to Romaine's and the salesman Wyatt Parks kept us informed so we bought that very same day my husband tried these beds. Yes, they are pricey, but it's the best sleep we've had since our floor sleeping. The Tempur-pedic actually rivals our experience with floor sleeping. Due to his need to heal he's slept more than the usual eight hours and being able to adjust the bed to fit his body and needs has been wonderful for him. I was treated poorly by the owner of this store and called bad names due to a misunderstanding. I had a review that was bad up but I took it down because the owner told me he would sue me for defamation if I didn't take it down. My bed I bought has already sunk on both sides so I just decided to leave one up finally just to make me feel better about my loss. read more

I am getting much better sleep since participating in a group tour of their new, gorgeous facility! Manager Chris really spent a lot of time with us informing us of why we think we need a new mattress. It's because we're not sleeping well and it's not always the mattress' fault. Before we got in, he was also playing outside with his friend's Tesla and just watched us park our car and watch us go in the wrong entrance with our two kids. He was accommodating to our needs and what kind of mattress we wanted. We then mentioned our budget. He kinda didn't give us the time of day. His demeanor change and didn't care much or had time to let us try out other beds. Our budget was less than $1000 or at least close to $1000. We tried probably 3 beds and the 4th bed was probably as hard as plywood. I think if there was better customer service, we probably would have bought a mattress. I thought buying a new mattress would be an absolute nightmare but boy was I wrong. I made this account just to write this review because my expectations of how this would go vs how it actually went were so far off. Jake is the perfect example of how salesmen should be like. Not only was he very knowledgeable about what he was selling. He led us straight to what we were looking for, gave us several options and suggestions, didn't try to sell us crap we didn't need, and we were out of there with a perfect mattress in probably 15 MINUTES! We bought a bed and had it delivered on the 2nd week of October. I was informed by the salesman that it might not feel exactly like the one we tried out at the store immediately because there would be some break in time. After some time i couldnt get one side to break in. I felt there might be a defect in the mattress itself. November 24th I contacted Romaines, on a weekend, when they were closed, I didnt expect to hear anything back. To my suprise and delight I was contacted back very quickly, they sent someone to look at the mattress and they determined it was a manufacturer defect. They delivered me a new mattress and set the new one up within 2 days. They didnt have to do all that and it was very much appreciated. Best experience! Romaines saved us! I had a nightmare experience when I ordered from a different store, Jackson mattress shop. I had ordered two king sized mattresses three weeks ago and had a very firm deadline, which they assured they'd meet. They said they were on their way to deliver our mattresses on the agreed upon date, then never arrived. When we called them they told us the mattresses didn't arrive (they didn't previously call to tell us this either), so we demanded a refund. They took our credit card number but then refused to refund us and blocked our phone number. I had to scramble to find someone who had a Cali king in stock, apparently this is a not so common size now and is rarely in stock anymore. I tried 5 places before I found Romaines! The man on the phone was so sweet, I'm so sorry I forgot your name! He had them deliver multiple mattresses and box springs so we could find the perfect fit. They thought of everything, they even brought mattress covers! It was free delivery, even though they are located 3 hours away from us. Not to mention it was a Friday and same day delivery! I never even had to step foot in the store, he helped me pick the mattresses over the phone, then sent extras just in case. It was like they brought the store to us! I met my deadline and I have Romaines to thank! Even the guys who delivered the mattresses to us, last minute on a Friday, at 6:30 when they still had a 3 hour drive ahead of them, had smiles on their faces and were incredible helpful! After moving multiple mattresses onto the beds, they hauled away our old mattresses and box springs. I paid in person with a phone app and they were on their way! Very fast and very easy, I highly recommend this company! Their prices were much more affordable than Jackson prices and they offered 5 star service. I would never shop here again. They do not stand behind their products. We spent $4200 there a few years ago. We purchased a mattress with a 10 year warranty. When the mattress sank substantially in the middle, we pulled out our original receipt and called to find out our options. We were told the mattress company had agreed to take it back with no questions asked and we should come in and pick out another mattress and they would make us happy. We drove an hour to get there. Spent 45 minutes picking out another mattress only to be told the mattress company would only give us $700 credit. This was never mentioned in phone calls or the first 45 minutes we were in the store. The owner was very aggressive, rude, and condescending. Ended up purchasing a mattress at another store in IF that had a much more professional and knowledgeable sales team. read more

My wife and I have been shopping around both Idaho Falls and Rexburg. We went to several stores but we came back to Romaines to purchase. There are a few reasons why. First, I really appreciated being greeted at the door by a sales man, he asked what we were looking for and if we had a budget in mind. I told him our budget and he took us to an area of their showroom in that price range, in fact a little under. He briefly explained in general terms the different types of mattresses there and then left us to shop on our own. There was NO PRESSURE TO SPEND MORE THAN WE HAD PLANNED. In fact when he came to check on us we had wandered a little farther and he pointed out that we were getting a bit out of our price range. On top of that they DELIVERED FREE TO REXBURG and hauled off our old mattress. The delivery was the next day only because we were there right as they were closing had it been earlier in the day I know they would have found a way to get it to us same day. read more
