It's served with bacon, maple syrup, and a decent amount of seasonal fresh fruit, although I do enjoy their caramelised banana when they have it! The pancakes here are good too and when I'm feeling a bit heartier than usual, their big breakfast always does the trick (they also have a vegetarian option of this available). If you don't want to order off the menu, they've got a range of baked goodness for you. I always get their vege savoury for a quick bite, and on a cheat day I'll definitely be getting the the chicken and mushroom pie, its always tasty. I don't usually go for their pastas but they're usually sold out by mid-afternoon. Hollywood Bakery is a great option in the mall that's away from the food court and gives you a chance to sit down and relax between shopping destinations. A few months' ago, I was invited to the media launch of the new Krispy Kreme store in Manukau. This world-famous doughnut and coffee chain first opened in 1937, and the brand is still going strong, having celebrated its 80th birthday last year (on 13 July). There are over 1,000 stores around the world - with New Zealand now in the mix, 35 countries selling these divine doughnuts! Walking into Krispy Kreme, the store is absolutely HUGE! It's nestled quite centrally in Manukau Westfield, so you don't need to trek too far to find the place. They have comfy seats and ample opportunities to do your people watching (people are so entertaining!). Something that puts me off Gloria Jeans is their plastic cutlery and plates. I know they don't have much of a kitchen to wash it all in, but in a time of increased need to recycle, it's disheartening to watch them chuck more plastic into the endless wasteland of rubbish. (also it's really difficult to cut things with a plastic knife! I only used that sort of thing for play dough as a child) How about installing a proper sink or make it all takeaway with paper bags? Anyway, that's my sustainable rant over and done with. These guys are still a good place to go. :)
