Get ready to do some serious walking. This zoo is super clean, even the restrooms were spotless. They clearly care so much about the animals and park itself. Highly recommend getting the extra ticket for the tram ride. They give you a wrist band and you can hop on and off. The gentleman who was our tour guide was so sweet and made the ride fun. He knows the names of all the animals. We don't have rhinos at our zoo, so I was thrilled to see two here. Stop by and say to Carlos the Camel!! We enjoyed visiting the refuge. However, we were disappointed that the petting zoo portion was not open that day.

Had a great time! The grounds are very clean and well maintained, the animals appear to be well taken care of and we got to see plenty of active animals. There were no crowds so we got to take our time and enjoy reading all the facts. Also, the museum is awesome!! Was not expecting such a quality display. Very large and worth a walk through. A lot of the animals have injuries like bleeding and gashes a lot of missing hair. It's sad I personally don't recommend this zoo at all. The restaurant isn't a restaurant it's a fast food joint with a small menu food was very old and stale. read more

Great shade and AC areas for cooling off and affordable slushies with a fantastic indoor kids play space! Would love to go again and spend more time in each area. Great variety of animals and close up encounters. The indoor museum was really cool and well done. The rhino was only a few feet away and wow, it is one POWERFUL animal. I cannot believe this doesn't have more reviews! We stopped here on the way through town (on a road trip) and I wasn't sure what to expect because while the reviews were good there were only 6! So go ahead and pretend this review counts as 100 If you ever find yourself on I-70 heading through Kansas STOP HERE! This place is AWESOME! Most of the animals are rescues (including a couple chimps whom were saved from animal testing facilities) so I loved supporting their cause! Everything was affordable! It was 95 out while we were there but they had plenty of shade and indoor exhibits as well as a mini "water park" (jump houses/slides/slip n slide ect) which was fun for my baby as well as my toddler and there were kids of all ages having a blast! You can feed certain animals and most of the exhibits allow you to see the animals at all times! We were within a few feet of most of them including the HUGE rhinos! The cafe has good food and a good selection(their burgers are great) and they are environmentally friendly using cups(that look plastic) that are made from corn and straws made from paper and beeswax! We rented a stroller ($5) but if you do the train tour($3) you won't need one! They have a museum, gift shop, as well as a playground. This place is awesome! We will definitely return but next time we will be passing through on purpose! Plan on spending the day there if you want to enjoy everything! read more

WOW, this place is amazing! I love zoos. I've been to a lot of zoos all over the world and this place is interesting as it has the museum/art gallery as well and only with one price of $12.50. I came here today on a roadtrip and had a great time. The staff is extremely nice. The animals were very taken good care of, the habitats were very clean and maintained. There were Indian rhino, orangutan, giraffe,lemur, cougar, giant anteater, aardvark and many more. The scenery and lakes are beautiful and you can also feed some animals,ducks,geese and koi fish in the lake so make sure you take lots of quarters if you like to feed the animals as well. There They offer free kennel services if you have a dog with you. It wasn't over crowded today. They do have trams but they only run on weekends until the summer season is here. The museum is beautifully structured and the animals were so life like. Animals were displayed for particular region. The dioramas were cool. Way worth the money!! Go check it out! read more

On the road towards the zoo the surrounding area looks like kind of an old town sketchy neighborhood but once you drive a little further closer to the zoo everything looks better. So don't freak out thinking that it'll be ghetto. When you pay for your ticket inside, the cashier will give you a small survey to fill out that you can give at the small restaurant inside the park to get a free bag of popcorn. The zoo was a pretty decent size it took me about 2 1/2-3 hours to take my time walking around the whole thing. when I first walked towards the entrance of the zoo it almost looked like there were no animals anywhere and that it was dead. Also most of the animals were still sleeping I came there around 12pm. But once you keep walking further around the zoo it gets better and can see more/bigger animals. There's also a small museum with fake animals and a large kids room to play. Definitely recommend visiting this zoo with your little ones(: read more

There is nothing negative about this zoo! It is clean, full of variety, and fun for the whole family! It is somewhat cheap and affordable and worth the price. It was clean with no floating trash and no streaks on the concrete. You don't have to worry about gum on the ground like other zoos or random trash. It does smell near the chimpanzee section, but that's a given. It has so many animals to look at and was not that much walking. Most of the animals were out even though it was around 9-10. The animals seemed happy and were playful. It made me feel better that I was visiting a zoo that was taking care of their animals. (Beware if you come in the morning they feed their reptiles live fish). They have a trap but you pay 3 dollars per person, so if you have a big family it is not worth it. The zoo itself was only 7-12 dollars for children and adults. read more

I love zoos. I've been all over the world and always go to the nearest one! So, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to get to this one... Great for kids of all sizes! The museum is beautifully done. Dioramas are amazing, and the info plackets were nicely written. Even a kids zone at the end. The zoo itself was a lot of fun. Nothing fabulous animal wise, but laid out well. And if you've ever been to zoos that make you feel like you are contributing to animal cruelty you'll really appreciate how important space and cleanliness are. I absolutely love zoos. This one was pretty awesome. There is a large assortment of animals. I loved how many of them you could see without fencing. I was disappointed that the tiger exhibit was closed, bad timing on my part. The museum was very educational as well as entertaining. The robots full of information were my favorite. I went into both gift shops and the staff I encountered were very polite and knowledgeable about their products and the zoo services offered. We took the tram tour and that was worth the money. My favorite was learning the animals names as well as history. read more

Best zoo I've been to since childhood! Really enjoyed a full day there. The animal exhibits were up close with lively animals unlike a lot of other zoos that I've experienced. The museum was incredible and in my opinion on a Disney World level. Very well put together. Would highly recommend this place it is well worth your money. read more

The Rolling Hills Zoo is fantastic!!! The layout is great the animals are cared for exceptionally well and the staff really takes the job to heart. This place is amazing. It is a zoo, gardens, a sculpture park, a wildlife conservation park and a museum. I enjoyed every minute of it and was delighted with it all. I was there with two people in their 80s and there were plenty of benches for them to take a break. And the six-year old boy loved it too! read more

It was so nice and everyone was so nice to me and all the animals where so happyand when you need help they are there just to help you.

Been here a number of times over the years. Place is always well maintained and great assortment of animals. The museum is interesting too.
