The same day, I received a response from Bobby Prince advising me that he does not cater events for less than 75 people (if that's the policy, I can respect that), and it really should have been left at that. Instead, he immediately followed that with the statement that most caterers require more than 20 guests and suggested I go to PUBLIX to get food for my event, which came across as extremely condescending and unnecessary. So I began reading across the Google reviews that had been left about previous interactions with Mr. Prince. While the majority were positive, it would appear that I am not the only one who walked away from my communication with him with a bad taste in my mouth. His public responses to negative reviews show a troubling lack of professionalism. Overlooking the absolutely atrocious spelling and grammar in Mr. Prince's responses to negative reviews, his utter lack of customer service skills and his obvious sense of self-importance is beyond shocking. I've never encountered a small business owner that is so comfortable with openly mocking customers (or even potential customers) in an open forum! Instead of simply taking negative feedback in stride, he repeatedly stated that he "takes pride" in the fact that the client wouldn't have been a good fit for his company, simply because they had a negative word to say about him. He repeatedly discounted reviews as having "zero merit" just because he disagreed, even going so far as to state that he would "make sure other local catering companies are aware as well". And in the most disgusting display of his lack of tact, he openly pointed out that the complaining customer had chosen the "least expensive catering package", as if that merits treating them differently than any other customers. Every paying customer deserves basic respect, regardless of price point. Openly threatening or belittling customers--past or potential--does not reflect well on any business. I'd also like to point out that I contacted this same company back on 9/24/24 to get a quote for an event for 30 guest. At that time, no 75-guest minimum was mentioned, and a quote was provided without issue. But that is neither here nor there. I reached out to several other catering companies in the area, and received interest from all of them, despite the size of the guest list. So despite his delusions of grandeur, Mr. Prince does not speak for every company. I am very happy that Mr. Prince's business is doing SO well that he can afford to turn down any possible business opportunity on a random Wednesday in January, but I take GREAT pride in knowing that Mr. Prince and his company would not have been a good fit. Respect and professionalism matter--especially when dealing with meaningful, personal occasions--and unfortunately, this interaction fell far short of that standard.

Events Chattanooga Catering Company provides us anything BUT full service for my wedding…read more Not only did they fail to provide food that I paid for, they also failed to provide ice and cups at the bar as the promised. After my initial email and addressing my concerns to Bobby (the manager) I was promised a check for the ice and cups my mom had to leave the wedding for to go grab. HOWEVER, that check was promised to me 3 months ago and I have yet to see it or even hear from them. They stopped returning my calls and e-mails months ago. Along with all of that, their service at the wedding was HORRIBLE! The catering company was declining my guest food because they underprepared the amount of food. The bar tender also declined my guest drinks that were on the drink menu and decided to dip into my moms personal alcohol from the rehearsal dinner and serve that instead. The bartender also completely disregarded not only my request, but my wedding coordinators request for no liquor to be served during cocktail hour. She ALSO completely disregarded our his and her drinks recipes and served our guest straight liquor instead. To the point where we had multiple people complain on how bad the drinks tasted cause they tasted like straight liquor. And the last thing that set me off the edge was the company switched the payment software with me a month before the wedding so ALL my previous payments were not taken into account for in the final total. Which means they owe me my money back since I paid more than I was quoted. However, when I addressed with manager with Bobby Price, 5 emails and 2 months later and still no response. After multiple emails and calling I still have yet to hear back from them. No email. No check. Nothing! DO NOT BOOK EVENTS CHATTANOOGA CATERING FOR ANY EVENT unless you want half ass service.

Having our wedding at The Barn at Highpoint Farms was probably one of the best decisions we made…read more First off, I love that it is a family run business with generations of experience. They take pride in their venue and the personalized, thoughtful, and unique setting they provide. Margie has been planning weddings for years and her experience was incredibly helpful for us during the planning process as she asked questions and gave suggestions on things I never would have thought of without her! The Barn at Highpoint Farms offers SO much- first, they are a flower farm as well as a wedding venue. This means that we were able to use fresh cut flowers for our bouquets, table settings, ceremony décor, and got to take pictures in flower gardens that had the same flowers used for our wedding in them. The flowers were stunning, smelled and looked fresh, adding to the ambiance. The arrangements were well thought out and better than I could have imagined. Second, they offer some housing on site! Along with the ceremony space and the barn for the reception, there are two houses and a couple's tree house on site that you can rent for additional spaces to stay. We did a premium package where both houses and the tree house were included in our weekend. GREAT DECISION! This meant that we, plus our wedding party, had somewhere to stay Friday AND Saturday night that was right on site. Everyone commented on how much they loved that they didn't have to commute back and forth from a hotel, and that they got to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the farm all weekend. Plus no one was late or had any mishaps. We loved the venue so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there Friday night plus the wedding ceremony and reception there Saturday. It was so convenient and really reduced stress having everything in one place for the entire weekend. Finally, there is so much to do and see on the farm! It feels like a magical place, and they have done an excellent job of preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the farm. Everywhere you look there is a perfect photo opportunity, from flower gardens to old pickup trucks, to green houses and rustic barn doors. The venue has so much natural character and charm you really don't have to overdress it with décor and fluff which was a cost saver in the end. There are even horses, goats, cats, and dogs you can take pictures with offering unique photo opportunities. The two guest houses are comfy and stunningly decorated, Margie and family really have a great designer's eye, making them beautiful settings for getting ready photos as well as comfy places to stay all weekend. I could go on and on about The Barn at Highpoint Farms, but it'd be a book. Go tour the venue, you won't regret it. I highly recommend, it was the best decision we made in wedding planning.

Very accommodating! The view is stunning but Jill's ability with flowers and greenery was over the top! Everything she created (bouquets, table decor) was so very pretty. The arbor she decorated at the front of the aisle took my breath away and made a beautiful background for the pictures. Our guests loved the baby goats and the bonfire/corn hole area. It just added to the fun and enjoyment. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!l

First off, I'm not the bride or groom, but I was a bridesmaid; therefore, my experience is limited…read moreto the rehearsal & wedding day as I had not dealt w/ Weddings by Design prior to the wedding weekend. Secondly, I go out of my way to offer positive feedback, and almost everyone involved in the execution of this weddings was fantastic! Unfortunately, I don't have any positive comments about how Sherri Thomas handled the event. From the get-go, she was rude & extremely uptight. She continuously YELLED at the cooperative wedding party--so much so that the young flower girl looked at me and said, "She is so rude." Sherri does not have the personality for the profession. She is easily flustered, negative, & inflexible. Sherri upset the bride on multiple occasions with her bad attitude and harsh words. Her job was to make the day run smoothly--not to disrupt the day. Again, because I did not deal with Sherri prior to the event, she might have been a tremendous help planning the even, but I did not get that impression when the bride's family basically said "good riddance" when she threatened to QUIT after the ceremony and prior to the reception. Despite Sherri's success at upsetting the wedding party throughout the day, the event was beautiful and a complete success. Please get several positive references before deciding that "Weddings by Design" is the coordinator capable of pulling off the most important event of your life to date. There are so many wonderful wedding coordinators in the southeast; choose wisely!
