During our initial meeting, Nicole met with me and my daughter and she wanted to hear our ideas and what we wanted for this New Year's Eve wedding. Nicole and Trilogy Design did not disappoint. They turned the event space at Stratton Hall into a magnificent space. Nicole was instrumental in identifying and securing vendors for the wedding from the DJ (Million Dollar Man) to the bartender. Nicole and her staff are professional, thorough, detailed, timely and did I say professional. On the day of the wedding Nicole and her team were in tune to both my needs as the mother of the bride as well as my daughters need. Logan at Scenic Sound Solutions was my first and only call. From the beginning, Logan was absolutely amazing and attentive to not only the traditional needs of the reception but to what we wanted specifically. Logan worked well within my budget and provided so much more than I could have asked for. He accommodated my work schedule and worked with me after traditional work hours. I never felt rushed and Logan answered every question that I had. He was attentive throughout the weeks before the reception making sure everything was what we wanted. We even had some 11th hour changes (literally the night before the wedding) to now include father/daughter dance with an obscure song and to our luck, Logan already had it in his repertoire. As for the reception itself, Logan was the absolute best! We did not have a wedding coordinator so he offered to help with the announcing of events and keeping us on schedule. Him and our photographer teamed up and make sure the reception didn't have any hiccups. Logan read the dance crowd great and kept the flow of the music going with high energy all night. We only hired Scenic Sound Solutions for the music but they offer so much more like photo booths, hair/makeup, etc. If we are in Chattanooga again to host an event. Logan and Scenic Sound Solutions will be my first and only call!

My husband booked The Groovy Nomad as a birthday gift, a solo weekend reset, and it was just what I…read moreneeded. Three nights of quiet, a perfectly renovated room, and a real sense of being somewhere intentional rather than just somewhere to sleep. He picked well. I stayed in the Flower Power room and it's exactly what the name promises without tipping into kitsch. The owners clearly cared about the details: the vintage pieces are the real thing, the bathroom is genuinely beautiful, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and everything you actually need is there (Keurig, smart TV with Netflix, fast wifi). Even the mini fridge looks vintage, and I appreciated that it had a separate little freezer. It's a 1959 motel that's been brought back with restraint and taste, which is rare. A few things that made it worth every dollar (and the price is more than reasonable for what you get): Your reservation includes a Cloudland Canyon State Park pass, which is a lovely touch. The park is about 10 minutes away and I spent a slow afternoon doing the overlook walks and having a picnic at one of the rim spots. The outdoor courtyard back at the motel was its own little perk in the evening, with a fire going and a great spot to sit with a drink. Trenton is an easy 90 minutes from Huntsville and only about 25 minutes from Chattanooga, so it works as a true getaway without being a haul. For dinner, Lookout Mountain Pizza Company in Rising Fawn is a short drive up the mountain and well worth it. Quiet, clean, charming, and run by people who clearly love what they've built. I'll be back.

The owner, Briana works with each chef to curate a special sampling at each restaurant. We did our first course at Old Gillman Grill for a French inspired meal and then did a walking tour of Chattanooga's alleys - which are designed by the community. Then we headed to the Westin for a very competitive scavenger hunt followed by a Korean inspired meal at Alimentari. The tour then ended with tapas and an espresso bean old fashioned (Basil Lime Spritz mocktail for me) at Paloma Bar de Tapas on the 10th floor of the Westin, which overlooks the city. The tour lasted 3 hours and the food was phenomenal!!! This is definitely a must-do again when I have friends visit!
