Wow! I absolutely love this place. For its location on route 19 in central Mount Lebanon, this place is gigantic. It has its own dedicated parking lot in the back, which is great because parking in the ares is always a bit problematic. This is a great little hardware store with all the smaller items of a typical store, but a little less in terms of large items like wood, fencing, etc. It's also a bit confusing with the layout, and I got separated from my family and lost in the store. It was a glorious kind of lost though, because I love hardware stores. This place has a lot of nicer high-end fixtures like lighting and faucets that I haven't seen at the big-time stores. In addition to traditional hardware items, this place carries some kitchen supplies, camping and outdoor gear. They had a great selection of reasonably-priced Carhart gear in the center of the store that I was eyeing for Christmas gifts, and I also saw an aisle full of ceramic teapots that I reluctantly avoided to prevent unnecesary spending. This place is great for browsing DIY-ers and people who just love to roam hardware stores, like me. I went here at the beginning of October and they have a great selection of adorable Halloween decorations. The center of the store has a giant table full of sale items, including last-season decorations and random knick knacks. I didn't get a chance to explore the place in depth so I can't say too much about its inventory or prices, but it's a wonderful, large, convenient, and interesting store and I can't wait to go back. read more

So I don't usually go to Rollier's because A) I don't live up there anymore, and B) because it's usually expensive. But I have to say that my experience today was great up until the end. I found stuff in the garden center that I didn't know I could even get in Pittsburgh, I found fertilizer for a much cheaper price than I see at my place of work, I was offered help by two nice guys even though I didn't need it, then I talked to another nice guy over in the cabinet hardware. I didn't find what I needed there, so I went to check out with my soil and seeds. Apparently, the woman working the register on the right facing the parking lot is only nice to older men. I thought for sure I'd get a hello, how are you, have a good day, ANYTHING when I walked up to her, but literally all I got was ignored. She rung up my stuff, almost forgot to put it in a bag, and the only conversation she made (not that my introvert ass wants conversation at the check out, but I do expect politeness) was with the other cashier about a dude with his dog OUTSIDE the damn store. It was a big eff you to me, and I don't appreciate it. I said hello, I said thanks, I said have a good day, and all I got was basically a big fat eff you. The old man in front of me got a nice chat about the weather, and other pleasantries. I work in retail. I understand that not every interaction with a customer has to be the best one of the day, but come on. I just saw this asshole be nice as pie to the guy in front of me, and I walk up and get a pile of shit? F you, lady. I wish I had looked at your name tag so that I could complain. read more

I'd never been there before and my bathroom has had a leak for 10 years. I figured it was time to fix it. No one had the parts I needed on hand... but Rollier's did. Every question I had they had a simple to the point answer and they were honest about the price for everything. Even offered to fix the the pieces I did Have. I am a local small business owner myself so I try to support local especially over a big box store. I began patronizing Rollier's about 4 years ago when I bought my house in BP. As a single mom with a newly acquired yard, I needed quite a few maintenance and upkeep items. The staff are extremely helpful and the gentleman working that day took over 20 minutes to ask specific questions about the size of my yard and the trees, bushes, plants, etc. and recommended tools, and actually talked me out of some more expensive items, as he didn't feel I needed them. This impressed me! Since then I have purchased my lawn mower (which they have cheerfully and professionally serviced since then), new locksets, doorknobs, had screens repaired, gotten advice and help with plumbing purchases. You name it, they have it. And I do not understand the people claiming they are more expensive. I have checked and compared and they are competitive with any big box store and often carry better quality items. And I will definitely shop there, where I can get actual help, advice, and recommendations, rather than Home Depot where you have to hunt down an associate who may or may not even know what the heck you're looking for. read more

The greatest hardware/home store I have been to! I have been looking for paint and was highly unsatisfied with the help and customer service I was getting at large stores. Then I came to rolliers where they knew EVERYTHING. From photos on my phone, to a magazine and a tiny chip from my wall they were able to make the perfect color (I wanted a similar color just brighter". I was shocked that they understood and were able to help. Once my sample jar was a hit I came back and let them select me the correct brushes I would need. I'm not experienced and was given many items but not ripped off. They told me things I was buying that insist actually need and how I could use items I already have. I was so impressed with this service I then walked over to the door section and they were able to cut me a special piece of glass so I didn't have to replace an entire door. Worth the price. Will never go to a big box store again! read more

This neighborhood all around hardware store is great. Huge selection of typical and hard to find items from plumbing and electrical to paints and garden supplies. They also have knowledgeable folks working there who actually seem to enjoy helping customers. Prices are very similar to the big box stores. Great to have close by and actually has parking in Mt Lebanon. read more

My husband and I went to Rollier's Hardware on Friday, June 24, 2022, and I WAS REMINDED WHY I LOVE SHOPPING IN THIS STORE SO MUCH. Everyone who works there KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING! They really do! We asked the woman working at the desk near the storage, bath, and cleaning items. SHE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL! She helped us locate the items that we were looking for, and she made a few recommendations for other items that might be helpful. Then we went over to the hardware desk and asked about a few hardware items we were having trouble locating. The gentleman working at the hardware desk was just as amazing as the woman who worked at the other desk! Not only did he help us find the items we were trying to locate, he actually walked over to the area with use and showed us the various options. You just don't get that kind of incredible service at Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, or other Hardware stores! Finally, when we went to check out, the gentleman who was working at the register was friendly, personable, and extremely helpful. I will not shop anywhere else, because there is no other store with EMPLOYEES WHO ARE SO KNOWLEDGEABLE! THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO ENSURE THAT THEIR CUSTOMERS HAVE A POSITIVE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE! This is a great local place for the neighborhood. There aren't many general shops or convenience stores within walking distance, so Rolliers is my go-to store. Their employees (beyond the local teens at the registers) are very friendly and knowledgeable. I've never had any problems finding plumbing, storage, or cleaning supplies. read more

I have to share my experience today regarding Rollier's hardware store Washington Rd in Mount Lebanon. I WILL NEVER shop that store again. I entered the store looking for kitchen item with my son and asked the sales person, who turned out to be the owner who helped me find the item I came in to look for. Once I saw the items he had, I decided there was nothing there I wanted and felt the price was a little expensive also. As I started to walk away from the product my phone rings. I put my hand in my bag to collect my phone to answer the call, while he then starts to chase me down the store and saying in an accusing tone "will I be buying the item I came in for and why not?". When I explained it wasn't what I was looking for he then proceeded to tell me to take the items out of my handbag and he was falsely accusing me of stealing product. He'd seen my hand go in my bag to collect my phone and he stood there and accused me of shoplifting. I literally was just taking my phone out of my handbag to answer the call. I emptied my bag out in front of him that I had nothing in my bag and showed that I was not stealing. I asked the rudest associate for the manager and she said he was the owner. I then proceeded to call the police as I felt that was unfair that he accused me of stealing he never even apologized to me infront of my son. The police showed up and I complained to them they addressed the situation. But I felt the owner needed to be aware he was in the wrong by me having the police involved. The least thing the Owner could have done was apologize to me and my son like any decent human being should have done. I will never set foot back in that Rolliers hardware store again. So beware if you go in there and your phone rings and your hand goes in your bag to get your phone, They may end up accusing you of shoplifting! I am beyound insulted and furious! read more

I really like Rollier's. I "discovered" it because I wanted to buy a Miele canister vacuum and I saw online that they carry the complete line. I have been back several times after that. They carry lots of good quality merchandise that I just don't see in other stores. They have a wide variety of quality items. I will continue to shop at Rollier's and I have recommended it to others. read more

We went there for the first time to look at the big green egg. What a great place to shop. Super knowledgeable staff and very, very helpful. Ended up picking up a large green egg on the spot. Really thorough and professional from purchase through delivery and setup. Cathy helped us in the store and Derrick and Rick were great scheduling delivery and coordinating everything. I have never posted a review but Rolliers is one I must write about. Initially, I would argue with my husband that box stores were cheaper and that was all that mattered. But, customer service has converted me to this store. I regularly walk in with many questions and someone has always been able to brainstorm, advise, explain and assist. I wanted to know how to make a lamp from antique gooseneck lamp parts and glass shades bought on eBay. Someone told me the specific parts I needed to order online, and how then to do it even though I was only able to buy the antique electric cord from them. When stripped screws have put the brakes on my projects, they have gotten them out for me. I recently brought in an antique 2-tiered wooden paper tray that many would have thrown away. Someone helped me figure out a solution and worked with me to make it secure and sturdy once again. With their help, I have been able to renew, restore, create, refinish and learn. That is priceless to me. So I guess if all you want is the cheapest value for something, then let that be your guide. However, being an educated consumer will, ultimately, be cheaper in the long run. If you want a place that knows what they are doing and not afraid to show you, then go to Rolliers- a place that helps you value and care for what you have. read more

We have shopped at Rollier's for 40 years and have never had bad customer service, so some of the comments surprise me. We have always found the clerks (esp. in the paint and plumbing and lawn and garden departments) to be very knowledgeable and helpful. The owners actually work in the store and will answer questions, too. They also have a tremendous selection of items you would never expect like quality lampshades! The prices can be higher than the big box stores on some items, but this store always supports local school and community activities, so they deserve a little more. read more

This place is huge and very convenient to our home. I like to frequent locally owned businesses so I was excited to try Rollier's instead of going to the Home Depot down the street. Unfortunately this store is considerably more expensive and has a much smaller selection of items. I know this is to be expected, but I expect the stellar service to compensate for this fact. I did not find stellar service. The gentleman in hardware that helped me was unfriendly and didn't seem to care that that I couldn't find what I needed. I sensed it might have been because I was female, which really bugs me. I have returned to grab things quickly and the cashiers are friendly to a fault. I have had to sit in line while they chat with someone infront of me FOREVER pretending not to see me waiting.....too friendly, not friendly enough....not sure which is worse. I will continue to try this place out because I still think local businesses need a break these days, but they aren't winning me over. read more

I've gone to Rollier's a lot over the years whenever I needed a personal touch - something you can't get at places like Home Depot. Last week I went in with a busted window screen frame. I wanted to replace it, and Rollier's has built replacement screens for me in the past. For some reason, this time, MT in plumbing was determined to repair my frame instead of sell me a new one. He told me that my frame hardware was actually thinner than what he had to sell and it wouldn't fit. (Later I determined that not to be true - its the same size.) He said instead he could put a brace across the frame. OK I said. I'm always open to saving $50+. Well that brace added at least 1/8" thickness to the frame. Now it won't fit. If he was concerned that a new frame would not fit, why would he think this very thick brace would? I had to remove that brace to get the frame back on the window. So he wasted my time, probably over 2 gallons of $4/gallon gas, and took $25.67 from me. So much for the personal touch. I think I will stick for the impersonal honesty of Home Depot for now on. read more

Convenient and easier to find items then big box stores, although you do pay for that convenience. Most staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, others in dire need of customer service training (mocking and eye rolling at customers is not cool). Returns can be a hassle including items sold that are defective or missing parts. read more

Yes, their prices are a little high compared to competitors but there's something to be said for the local mom and pop hardware store. You can actually get help here from people who know what they are doing....not the experience I had at the local Home Depot. Every employee is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the store and it's products. I especially like the service (and advice) that I get in the plumbing and paint departments. Have been going to Rolliers for many many years, just recently purchased a major item, went back today to spend my rollier bucks and had question, talked to one of the owners and I must say as much as I like the store and all the employees, he was not nice, not professional and had a very bad attitude towards me, and he said something very disrepectful to me as he walked away, my husband was standing in his path and heard him. We will not go back to Rolliers and will tell many of our Mt. Lebanon neighbors what had happened to us. DON'T BUY DOG FOOD HERE!! I had a coupon for 15 percent off dog food and it was still $10 more than Pet Supplies Plus for a 33 lb. bag. Rollers does NOT price match and apparently does not care . I guess Mt. Lebanonites don't worry about price. read more
