Had the breaded chicken torta.... It was ok. Average. My wife had the steak burrito very good.

It was a rainy Friday evening. While hubby barely finished work, I was heading back home from the south side. Our original plan was to order Mexican food from our usual take-out place, but week-long fatigue and endless laundry I had to do convinced me to try out the delivery from "Rolando Tacos." Placing an order online was simple: I did it all via Yelp. I wanted one (1) taco de carne asada, one (1) taco de chile relleno, and enchiladas suizas hubby requested. Delivery fee was $3. A few minutes after I received the confirmation e-mail, a phone call came in from Rolando Tacos informing me that taco de chile relleno was out. I then chose one (1) taco de al pastor and one (1) taco de pollo as the substitutions. He also asked if we would like any meat for enchiladas suizas. Hubby wanted it done meatless. Yelpers certainly didn't lead us astray! Their tacos were very solid. First of all, there was a good amount of meat in each taco. They did a great job on the texture and flavor of the meat. The ingredients were also fresh. Something about their salsa roja was quite unique. The spicy level was just perfect for me. The order arrived at an optimal temperature and within the time frame indicated in the e-mail. We were delighted with the food and service. Therefore, we will definitely patronize "Rolando Tacos" again for either pickup or delivery whenever we are in the mood for delicious tacos.

Made it a point to go here because of other reviews on Yelp. I was not disappointed. The tacos are only $1.99 unless you want the chili rellenos tacos those are $3.25. The food was surprisingly fresh and tasty. I got the taco dinner which consists of three tacos served with rice beans and tortillas. Ask for carne asada or skirt steak it is delicious. The taco dinner is $8.99. We also had a carne asada torta with refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and sour cream on it. All of the Torches are $5.50. They give you chips and sauce to start with and I would hold off on eating lot of chips so you do not spoil your appetite for the rest of your mail. The taco dinner is very big and failing. The restaurant is located on Cicero just south of Fullerton Avenue on the west side of the street it's a small place very dive like and sparsely decorated. But, don't let that fool you the food is great. There's about 20 chairs inside the restaurant so you can sit and eat, but a lot of their business is to go. Will have to return here for the al pastor tacos which they are known for. I would have given them a 5-star rating for the food alone, but I did not receive the tortillas with my dinner, which I did not even notice because I was so full, until I was at my home.

We stopped here on the recommendation of a fellow Yelper, and were not disappointed. The tacos are good, the tortas were large and the dinners are big enough to make you take a siesta. Everything is fresh & made to order, including the "Gorditas" (like stuffed tortilla) The meat was lean, which separates Rolando from many greasy joints, and the service is frienly and attentive. The decor is virtually non existent: a plain room with a few simple tables; this is by no means a Michelin star rated restaurant, but in their price range, and food type, they are better then most.

Waiting and been waiting for 3 tacos and a quesadilla for over 30 mins. I come at the time they told me to pick up food and admitted to never putting in the order thru to the cooks. Way to waste my time. It's empty in here but orders get out thru and served BEFORE mine. That's wack. They don't want my money clearly. Then they get my order wrong. Oof

Give them a shot. They make fresh tamales, and the burritos are a steal considering how big they are. Try the carne asada anything. Taco, burrito, torta.. It has a great grilled taste that's comparable to El Patron. I've gone here a couple of times since its in the neighborhood. There's plenty of competition around, but this family owned spot seems like it can hold its own next to the rest.

I ordered for pick up and when I got home I realized that the order was wrong. I gave them a call and they didn't hesitate to offer me a replacement. The best part is that they gave me the option to pick it up or to have it get delivered. Not only are the pastor quesadillas delicious, but the customer service is just as great! (: thank you!

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. They were good but a little small for the price. - Pozole Pipian -- It has a verde base that's very light. Something that makes it unique is chicharrones on top. My daughter prefers pork over the chicken. - Carnitas Huarache -- good flavors but probably my least favorite of the meal. - Asada Torta -- this was my favorite dish of the night. I arrived at the restaurant on time (4:30) and checked in with the hostess, who said I could only be seated when the entire group of three arrived. This seemed weird given the restaurant was pretty empty at this time, and ordinarily I'd order a drink while waiting at the table. Regardless, I went to Starbucks instead because I knew the other two were a few minutes behind. When I got back to the restaurant, my friend said the hostess told him we absolutely had to leave within 1.5 hours because we were late... which seemed odd because he may have checked in 15 minutes after our reservation, to an empty restaurant, that already refused to seat me on time. Regardless, the food was delicious. I had the Pollo in ChiChilo-- the mole was delicious, and I loved the chicken and sweet potato. I ordered the mole on the side, which seemed like a nice balance. Since the hostess wouldn't previously seat me, I had a lovely iced matcha latte with oat milk and half a pump of vanilla from Starbucks, which was a nice pairing. The waiter did ask if I wanted a shot of something with it, which seemed odd. Ambiance was cute, probably due for a renovation but seemed appropriate for most dining out occasions- dates, families, a day out in town. Note: the restaurant charges an automatic 20% gratuity which may explain the service. Keep this in mind to avoid tipping more than you intend. Overall, I would definitely come back, and the food and wait staff made up for the abrasive welcome.
