Staff was so friendly and helpful, I can't rave enough about them! What got me was the view of San Francisco. Since I needed a break, I decided to go with a glass of their Cab Franc which they use Dry Creek gapes. For me, this hit the right notes. They have a regular food vendor on site and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry but if I was, I would have definitely ordered. I actually think of going back to this place. I could see being here during the week on a nice day, reading a book or doom scrolling with a glass of wine. There is something so zen about it that it's worth going back. Since I had a dog, I couldn't be inside, but check it out - it's really nice. That's where they make the magic.

We tried the 3 flights of wine and all of them were pretty good. Unfortunately, the bees kept coming to us and our wines despite moving to 3 different tables. One of them even fell into my cup of wine! Pam was kind enough to give me a new glass of wine. Scott was very nice and brought water bowls with treats for our dogs. This is a great spot to check out in Alameda. Wines, service and view were great and it's even better that it's dog friendly.

The atmosphere is quaint, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. They frequently host live music and offer a variety of games and activities that align with what's happening around the city and the season. It's a great spot to meet friends before dinner or after dinner, although I'm not entirely sure of their late-night hours. The restrooms are clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, which honestly matters in a wine bar. While Coco Noir doesn't offer a full menu, they do have bits and bites, including charcuterie boards crafted by an amazing chef. Chef Shan Shan puts genuine love and care into everything she creates, and she has done an outstanding job with her role at Coco Noir. Because of her alone, I've become a regular and will continue to be a loyal patron of this amazing venue. If you're looking for a cute, cozy spot to relax, connect, and enjoy good vibes, check out Coco Noir. You won't be disappointed. Tell them Dorothy sent you you may get an extra pour

What can I say?! Sapphire Hill just charms my little socks off! Every single time that I stop into…read morethis tasting room, I'm always left wondering why the hell I don't come by more often. Busy summer Shayla is in full effect, but you BEST believe that I will NOT be missing visits to this gem (and neither should you). First things first; the wine is just gawd damned FINE here, ladies and gents! As a self proclaimed certified wino (BAHAHAHA! Please take that title with a grain of salt), I will say that these wines can rival any of those big named Napa/Sonoma wine labels. The difference?! I ain't gotta drive all the way down to Napa to get this goodness (and I'm saving the big bucks)! Plus, the service is impeccable and them Oakland vibes are simply unparalleled. We love us a town gem, oh yes we do! ;). Okay, so back to the wine: I'm kind of hooked on a few of them. You can't go wrong with anything that you try here, but you CAN fall in love with the Vivant like I have. As someone whose wine of choice has never been a Cab, I am obsessed with the Vivant! It's bright, it's fruity, it's lucious and it's easy drinking for a Cab. I just love how they've changed converted me to a Cab lover... correction; a "Vivant" cab lover ;). Other notables that are not to be missed here: their fruity and floral rosé, their crisp and refreshing Chardonnay, and their succulent barbera. Again, you won't taste a bad wine here ever, but these are my current and recommended faves. I love coming in and trying the newbies on the list! I tasted a chilled red the last time that I was in, and it was quite delicious! Aside from the wines, what makes this place golden is the PEOPLE! It's a combination of the people running the place and the people who come in to enjoy it. Hallie and Tony are friggin' SPECTACULAR!!! Personalities on fleek (do people even say that anymore?!) and knowledge times a million. You should be there when we're having the most random convos ever. No really... you SHOULD! It's what makes things so fun enjoyable. I alwaaaays meet the BEST people here. We are always having the time of our lives and then I have to leave because... ya know. Work and bills and health and stuff! HA! But seriously, I can't say enough great things about this little gem. I am truly so grateful to have this wonderful place in my neighborhood. Pay them a visit! I promise you'll be back for more.

They had turned part of the alley into an outdoor patio. They used bistro table and chairs and had portable heaters and a E-Z ups (I went back when it was cold outside and potential rain. The interior space has a few seats at the counter and a few at the window. The owners of the spot are super kind and their wine is divine! Iain Bolton, winemaker of Eight Arms Cellars, definitely qualifies as a Renaissance man in my book. I have to admit that I haven't been to an official release party, but does an office party count? Milton would have given up his prized red stapler for a taste of these artisan wines. And lucky me, they were the perfect accompaniment to Friday's Beer (and Wine) Bash. Eight Arms put their marketing genius to work in celebration of their latest release. Where else can you taste wine and then throw down your best target practice at an Octopus inspired "Ink Spitting" contest? I hear the winner got a whopping 18 feet! Being able to talk to winemakers is always a treat. It truly is a craft that takes years of know-how, science, and a highly developed palette. You can pick up these wines at more than a couple local places: Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant, SF New Russian Hill Market, SF Wine on Piedmont, Oakland Du Vin Wines, Alameda Wine Mine, Oakland JV Wine & Spirit, Napa Swirl on Castro ...or you make your purchase online at www.eightarmscellars.com. Be sure to check out their Go Green Drink Red/White program. I was really impressed to learn that this is one company that is "committed to sustainable practices and a portion of the sale from each bottle is donated to help combat global warming." That's a glass of wine that you can feel more than good about drinking! If I had Eight Arms myself, I'd hold on tight to a case or two (and maybe lay some down to cellar for a few years).
