On a Saturday night, one person was saying it was $50 and free other was saying $40. But for what you're paying it's an ok karaoke place. The songs get updated pretty quickly though I went two weeks after a new BTS song came out and it was there. The food seems to be from the Exit 201 next door. Which is very average. Nothing special about it. But very pricey probably because they need to make a profit off it. Like $20 for odenggtang? The rooms are older but decently clean. They put in UV light strip on the wall to "sanitize" the room. It's nice to have you're own room and not have to worry about other guests. The owners were not wearing a mask though. . If you need drinks, just push the service button on the wall and someone will come assist you. Water is not complimentary and you need to buy bottled water. But the popcorn is complimentary.

Very clean environment & spacious environment, they gave us a room that could've easily fit 15 people. Thank god for the sound-proof walls. I don't speak Korean and I cannot read Chinese so we stuck to singing mostly English songs. I wish there were more English options to choose from, but there were enough options that we still sang our hearts out for 2 hours. We'll see you again soon, kam sahm ni dah!

Volume Up is a place of LEGEND in Edgewater. It's been around for years - it's a cult favorite to…read morethe locals, and yet I've never experienced it until a few weeks ago. I suppose I am in the minority but...this is the most basic, bare-bones karaoke experience you can have! I'm saying this after going to luxury karaoke establishments (see my review for Tokyo Kitty in Cincinnati) and doing karaoke at bars for years. This establishment provides you with a room (a different size depending on your party), a mic, and a tablet with Youtube. The place has no ambience whatsoever. It is not just BYOB, it's BYOE - as it, BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING! You literally bring everything yourself - both food and drinks! To me, that is where Volume Up is really missing out, not just on the experience of the people, but also revenue. I can understand it being a BYOB to cut down on costs, but to offer no food at all? They have some canned / bottled drinks and snacks, and that's it. You can get delivery to this place but that adds an extra to your evening, and if you come here hungry you're SOL! (I would even take the reverse and order drinks here and bring snacks.) We were here with a party of about 12 people. The room was a little tight for us, but it suited us just fine - the next room up would have been a little more money. They have one AC unit for the room and TBH it got incredibly hot after drunk singing for two hours. Also, as I mentioned, the karaoke was literally a tablet connected to Youtube - and if you moved the table off of its holder, the cast disconnected and you had to get the desk worker. It's a cheap night out with friends! We had fun, the prices were fair, but if I were to go somewhere to get my karaoke fix, this wouldn't be the first place I would pick.

I have only been to one other karaoke place before, so there is not much of a comparison…read more I came here on a Saturday with me and 4 other friends (so 5 people total). We had called in advance to find out a price first to compare in the area and found out it was $35/hour. But my friend kept on insisting they had some free hours. We arrived at the place and found out that if you go between 3pm to 7pm, you only had to pay a flat rate for the first hour and the rest are covered. We thought it was a pretty good deal and it is 7 days a week. We didn't make it at 3 but still got a good 2 and half hours in. For $7 a person I think it was worth it. At first I thought oh the rooms aren't sound proof but once you start singing, you can't hear the other rooms anymore. I liked the room we were in. There was enough space for us plus extra. The room had the crazy rainbow party lights and tambourines. The room was also set up in a way where if you really wanted you can stand up in the front and use the screen on the back wall to read the words (Mini show for your friends). I also liked that this karaoke system scored you. I am not sure how it works but it must be complicated because I kept getting 00 for songs I usually can score well it on other systems. Or I was just off my game. Still good laughs. Some things to note: -You have to pay for parking meter (though it is cheap in Palisades Park 25 cents per 30 minutes) -It really helps to have a Korean friend who can read and speak Korean. The remote is in Korean and you can search for songs on the system instead of looking through the book. (My Korean friend loved this feature) But if you are looking through the books you can just get number and plug it in. You don't need to know in Korean red means cancel, green means go and the yellow one means wait in the queue.

It's the perfect spot to gather with friends for food, drinks, and karaoke. I tried the Scallion Chicken which was crispy, bite sized, and served in a savory dipping sauce. So easy to eat and enjoy! The Corn Cheese was probably the most cheese I've ever seen on this dish; an absolute dream if you're a cheese lover. The Spicy Beef Stew was warm, comforting, and tender with the perfect kick. The Hamburger Meat dish was decadent and rich over sweet caramelized onions. The Cheesy Omelette was one of our favorites! Cheesy on the inside with crispy garlic on top. Bulgogi Tacos had tender meat and was a harmonious blend of Korean and Mexican flavors. The Cheesy Spicy Chicken was insanely delicious. A massive, shareable portion filled with chicken, potatoes, rice cakes and onions, completely blanketed in cheese. I'd come back just for this! However, the Kimchi & Seafood Pancakes had great flavor, but unfortunately they came out a bit soggy, so I'd probably skip these next time. Pair all of this amazing food with their flavored soju and chilled beer, and finish the night off in their karaoke rooms. This place has amazing vibes and ever better food and drinks!

I had been to Soosanghan Pocha before for some karaoke but never really had their food. It's a pretty large space and given how early it was the space was practically empty. I ordered a burger skillet and my girlfriend got the Army Stew. The Army Stew was good and comforting on a chilly morning. It was packed with all different kinds of processed meats and some noodles. My burger skillet was a lot bigger than i expected and it tasted really good. It was essentially a huge burger patty in a bed of caramelized onions with an egg on top. The meat was super juicy and flavorful. It was pretty tender too. It was on the saltier side, especially if you got a spoonful of the sauce. But that just means it paired especially well with the white rice it was served with. The service was quick and friendly, but I expected it to be with the restaurant basically empty. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would come back to try some more of their dishes.
