We had a consultation (Orem) and had the actual surgery the next day in Saratoga Springs. We couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Dr. Burton explained everything thoroughly in the consult. The next day (surgery day) he was on time, personable, and made us feel right at home. The surgery normally takes about 30 minutes but Dr. Burton, being efficient as he is, only took 20 minutes! He even called in the prescription meds before the surgery started, so by the time we arrived at the pharmacy, it was ready for pick up. I was surprised by how quickly the actual operation was performed after we finished all of the paperwork because I had barely settled down to do some reading in the waiting room when I was told that it was all done! After the surgery my loopy and super inquisitive wife was brought down to our car by a member of the staff and we went on our way to get some drugs at a local pharmacy. Very easy! Before the procedure, I…read moreclearly informed Dr. Jenkins and his assistant that I wanted to be brought back into the room before my son woke up from sedation. I explained that I had heard patients often say funny or disoriented things during emergence from anesthesia and wanted to be present for that personal moment as his parent. They agreed to notify me. However, when staff finally came to get me, my son was already fully awake and had been moved to another room. The assistant stated they "have to move patients to another room right after the procedure" and added that my son "didn't say anything funny." I was deeply disappointed. As a parent, this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment I had specifically requested. It is not the staff's role to decide what is or isn't meaningful to our family. This experience disregarded basic patient and family rights to participate in care and be present during key recovery moments, especially after sedation. We were not given even a few minutes to accommodate a reasonable, pre-communicated request. Instead, the focus appeared to be on quickly moving patients through rather than providing patient-centered care. Wisdom teeth removal is an expensive procedure, and families expect better respect for their rights and wishes. I will not recommend this practice to others.

Each of the four people I spoke to confirmed that this was possible and put it in their notes each time. When I finished my surgery, they couldn't find them and then said they ended up in the trash. They clearly lack attention to detail so if you are planning on getting your wisdom teeth removed and would like to keep them I would advise you do NOT come to this Utah Surgical Arts.

Thanks to some bad dental genetics, I'm the lucky owner of pretty, but very badly behaved teeth…read more This resulted in many dentist visits, escalating to endodontist visits, and eventually oral surgeon visits. Once my 40's slammed me in the face, I had to begin having the real problem teeth removed and replaced. They've been molars thus far, which most dentists no longer deal with for removal. Dr. Crawford has been a fantastic referral from my trusted endodontist. He has removed two molars, a couple of years apart, and performed the surgery follow up care for my eventual implant replacements completed by my dentist. A molar removal is very invasive and complicated, with a decent amount of healing time necessary. Dr. Crawford is careful and thoughtful about his work, making sure any bone grafts and other processes are healed properly before taking next steps. (I know people who've been rushed through this process by their oral surgeons, and have lost implants because of it.) I've been extremely appreciative of his cautious care as it has certainly assisted me in making sure the implants stay where they're implanted and that the surrounding areas remain healthy. The surgeries I've been through with Dr. Crawford have been flawless. It's clear that everyone in his office, from the receptionists to the surgical assistants to Dr. Crawford himself, are there to help you. They're very communicative and respectful. Dr. Crawford has a very pleasant bedside manner, and does quality work. I also feel that his costs are in line with other oral surgeons, and he doesn't charge you for the small extra things that some offices wouldn't hesitate to add to your bill. I know I have more dental issues ahead of me, and although I'm very much not looking forward to any of them, I know Dr. Crawford and his team will take good care of me.
