From experience, i know how difficult it is to find one that's open on the weekends... let alone one that spends a great deal of time getting to know you and your specific needs. They take the time to get to know you as a person and not just another patient in a revolving line of "any problem areas today?" I've never known a Chiropractor to be so down to earth, answering the phones and even routing calls to their cell before/after hours. I first discovered them on a Saturday morning in excruciating pain desperately trying to find relief. I was flabbergasted when I called 2 hours before they opened and Dr. Mir himself answered. He is exceptional at providing customized personal attention. They always say "We are here for you" and truly mean it. I've been going for a few weeks and haven't looked back. Their practice offers advanced techniques that combine traditional chiropractic with stretching, exercises and roller tables to get you well on your way to overall health. Nestled behind the dance school at the corner of Camino Al Note (MLK) & Washburn this place qualifies as a hidden gem.

He uses his own hands and body to manipulates and adjusts my neck and back in such a way that no other chiropractors have. He must know the patient's anxiety about neck adjustment. He first asked me if I was OK with a neck adjustment before he touched me. His neck adjustment is heavenly. Dr. Cohen has Palmer School style practices in his basic style; AND plus, plus, plus. He does not simply repeat the same pattern of adjustment. He always asks me to find out where my discomfort is and how it came about. Then, he applies the special adjustment pattern to tackle my problem. Dr Cohen looks relatively young. But, his knowledge and experience seem to me far, way beyond his looks. Don't be fooled by his looks. He is the bright shining star in this industry. Also, Gerardo at Canyon Lake is a splendid stretch therapist who loosened me up enough so that I was able to begin my old stretch methods. Gerardo is my star light. All in all, this place is a collection of the STARS. Canyon Lake is the nice discovery for my old body. 84.

Two months ago I stopped all pharmaceuticals and started a peptide regimen instead. It helped, but my back, shoulders, and neck were still in bad shape. In desperation I called Rivas Chiropractic. I'd been to chiropractors before and never got the results I wanted, so I was skeptical. I was even prepared to call as many as eighty places if I had to. Talking to Ace on the phone changed that. She told me how an accident led her to Dr. Rivas, and how life-changing the experience was for her--so much so that she became his assistant. She also mentioned patients come from as far as Guatemala to see him. Something about her story felt completely genuine. When I arrived, I was surprised to discover that Ace is actually Ace Vega, a local Las Vegas singer and entertainer in Latin music. We quickly realized we have many friends in common in the entertainment industry. That connection made me feel instantly at ease. Dr. Rivas is more than a chiropractor--he's also a massage therapist--but what impressed me most was how much time he spent on the mental and internal side of healing. While he worked on my body, he shared wisdom and techniques for framing the mind toward recovery. At one point he even had me meditate while he drove his hand into my stomach with a massage technique I'd never experienced before. There was some pain, but it was manageable, and within moments I was completely relaxed. He offered me a six-visit package that was very reasonably priced and completely flexible--no schedule, use it whenever I need. The relief was immediate. I felt tremendous ease, almost euphoric at times. The rest of my day I kept marveling at how my body was finally working the way it should for the first time in many years. I'm fifty-four and still have other issues--I may never be a hundred percent--but thanks to Rivas Chiropractic, for the first time in a long time I believe I'm going to be alright. Thank you, Ricardo and Ace. You're my people now!
