Sex therapy is a great thing, and I do think we need more knowledgeable people helping us to understand sex. Dr. Roger Libby is very smart and seems to be well known in his field. BUT he is not a good therapist/counselor. If you want a therapist who subtly mocks any sort of morals or belief systems you might have, then Dr. Libby is the person you want to see. If you want a therapist who will make you feel like the bad guy for being uncomfortable with something he suggests, then Dr. Libby is the person you want to see. If you want a therapist who will continually bring up a past relationship that "you just need to get over" because you mentioned it ONCE, then Dr. Libby is the person you want to see. If you want a therapist who is very arrogant and will keep telling you that you can't get help/fix your problem anywhere else, then Dr. Libby is the person you want to see. If you want a therapist who will tell your husband in your absence that he should have "taken her for a test drive before the wedding", then Dr. Libby is the person you want to see.
If you DON'T want a therapist like that, I want you to read this warning to save your emotional well-being , time and money. Do NOT see him. I promise you, there are other sex therapists who will be able to help you! It will take some searching, but it will be worth it! I suggest starting at www.nwioi.com, that is the website for the Northwest Institute on Intimacy. I hope this information helps anyone who is looking for help. This is from a personal experience that my husband and I had. I was desperate to just fix our problem and just jumped into an appointment without doing some research first. I learned my lesson the hard way. You don't have to! read more
