It was awkward and embarrassing and still isn't 100% back- even though it's about 90% back now- 10+ years later!! I also felt like his father the dentist was very dismissive after his initial friendliness- and then the younger dentist I ended up liking left. I haven't been there since way before the pandemic, but I didn't want to write a negative review while I was still a patient. Also- I signed a waiver/form about the implant surgery so...and thank God the feeling mostly came back. However, the very experienced hygienist also named Kessler (she said they were unrelated) was a lovely person as was the Eastern European receptionist with blond hair- unfortunately I have forgotten her name- Marina? Elena?

I come in here every month for my Invisalign trays, and it's always a warm welcome coming in. Almost feels like I'm catching up with old friends. The staff here is friendly and funny. Also I'm sure they cover many different ranges of insurances. And the location is close to Bedford Av. Dr Butter is amazing as a dentist and very dedicated to helping the patients out. Like if Beyoncé were a dentist, it would be Dr Butter. Would 100000000000% trust her with my life. Definitely come through.

My wife and I are always satisfied with them. Billing is never an issue, either. Comfortable waiting area helps alleviate any "pre-dental-work" tensions, too :-) Only 2 minor quibbles: I'm 6'5 and the dental chair is a tad shorter than my body length (a common issue with big folks like me in any doctor's or dentist's office). Bringing along a small pillow for behind my head helped in my comfort: just a tip if you're tall. Also, because of my height, it was difficult to place myself bodily in their secondary x-rays-chair in one of their offices without contorting myself. But again: not everyone is 6'5 like me. The first set of xrays were the normal set taken in the dental chair which were not an issue...and they sufficed for the x-rays needed in my case. All that aside, Dr. Kim and the dental-office staff were great at their job(s), offer good dental advice and are pleasant to deal with. I'd recommend Norman Dental Center in Greenpoint to anyone needing care or cleaning. I wish my wife and I had discovered them earlier (we live nearby); we'd been going to another dental office, also in Gpt but farther away (I won't name them) and this not only was easier to get to but the care has been better, too. Not to mention: a front office staff that didn't screw up the billing and actually answered their phones :-)

Tooth Implant: in-progress review!…read more I knocked out my permanent front tooth as a kid. Back then it was back in but the tooth has honestly plagued me ever since. It lasted me almost 30 years, but the time has come to get an implant as my tooth cracked and was one wrong bite away from falling out of my mouth. My dentist gave me a few recommendations of places I could go to for this. All of them wanted to do the typical 6-9 month process of extraction & bone graph. wait to heal. Install implant, wait to heal. None of them suggested an attached temp tooth. I called up Havemeyer Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and spoke with Perri who was an absolute joy to speak with. She was hyper informative, didn't rush me off the phone or anything - she put a lot of emphasis that this needs to be done right as it's my front tooth! Which was not something other surgeons said on the phone. I was seen a few days later for the consultation. Did an X-ray and then discussed pricing. I agreed and immediately after we did imaging - 3D cat scan and teeth scan which they combine in software to do a total 3d model of me. The tech they use is absolutely cutting edge. They run this prior to surgery because Dr. Stern literally plans the exact spot to drill before surgery. They scheduled me the next day for surgery, which was awesome, but also super nerve-racking. Dr. Stern is by far the coolest doctor I've ever dealt with. Really down to earth guy, super knowledgeable and happy to explain everything. Overall the extraction and implant went super smooth and was only minimally painful. That 3D model they made was used during surgery to make sure they are drilling in the exact spot and the exact length of a hole for the implant. Truly awesome tech! Everything went well and I went home no issues. The best part - they put in a plastic 3d printed tooth as a temp, so no 'flipper' that has to come in and out. They printed this on site. As a lover of tech, this was just amazing. About 9 days later, my temp came loose. Nothing super out of order, but at the time, it was very very nerve-wracking and unsure if it was something serious. Dr. Stern literally drove 4 hrs and saw me at 10pm Sunday night on a holiday weekend. Forget about doctors, idk how many people would do this for a client. He tightened the tooth and we're back on track for things to heal. I don't like going to the dentist. Who does. But honestly, I'm absolutely looking forward to going back in 2 months! This has been without a doubt the most stressful things I've ever gone through medically, and somehow I ended up in the hands of the most awesome people ever. Also, what a power couple! Thanks Dr Stern and Perri!

My new teeth work perfectly and the look fits in perfectly with my other teeth. There were many moments where it was obvious the benefit from dealing with a specialist in implants - most recently the full mouth digital scan that led to a perfectly fitted crown. Years ago I had one implant done by my dentist who is excellent as a general dentist but clearly over his head when doing implants (it literally fell out several months later, with great pain, requiring a full do-over of the entire process). Plan to arrive early in case there are travel problems, which NYC is notorious for. The office has excellent free coffee and spring water, and comfortable sofa's.

I want to describe the experience I had at this dental office on May 6th. I went in to have one of…read moremy veneers reattached because it had come off. The procedure itself did not take long. I do not remember the doctor's name, but he was very kind. He explained everything to me clearly and spoke very politely. However, I did feel that the treatment itself was not very gentle. This is my first time using dental services here in the United States, and I noticed a big difference compared to the country I come from. The injection to numb the area felt very rough to me. Also, when they had to place the plastic pieces on both sides to isolate the tooth, the way they handled my face and removed everything felt very forceful and lacking delicacy. Still, the doctor himself was kind in the way he communicated. At the end of the appointment, I needed to make my payment. The doctor's assistant told me in English something like, "I'll bring you to the receptionist," but I misunderstood and thought she meant she would bring the receptionist to me. Since I did not fully understand the phrase, I politely asked, "Sorry, should I stay here?" Her reaction made me feel very uncomfortable. She rolled her eyes and directed me in a very dismissive and rude manner. I understand that misunderstandings can happen, especially because English is not my first language, but I felt disrespected by the way I was treated in that moment. This is a paid service, and patients deserve to be treated with kindness and patience. I would also like to mention that the receptionist who helped me with the payment was extremely kind and professional. My only complaint is regarding the attitude of the assistant who escorted me around noon to 12:30 p.m. on May 8th. Unfortunately, I do not know her name, but I wanted to share how unpleasant that interaction felt.
