I thought having my insurance agent in my building would make it convenient for him to be my State Farm Agent for my home car, and office I was renting. That was probably in around 2015. Let me tell you "State Farm is NOT there when you have a claim. And MATT completely ignores you. I had a water claim on my home, and I never heard back from MATT, and state farm sent SERVPRO for my Clean-up - and they STOLE things. Matt, NEVER even spoke to me, let alone come to my house to see the damage. Then I had a MOLD claim in my office, neither MATT, nor STATE Farm, EVER got back to me (that was the First week in October. It is now the END of November and I have been ignored, except a note from Matt about my insurance payment. But what am I getting for my insurance payments? Certainty not any help from MATT, and only flimsy patronizing help from State Farm, after contacting higher ups.

I guess that you can say that I have a lot of experience with insurance agents (and even internet companies), and unfortunately, I have had some bad experiences. For example, I thought I had good coverage with an online policy for my car (let's just say that the small green lizard was their representative) but then had an accident and found out that my coverage wasn't quite what I had thought. I had to shell out thousands for a repair...so much for "cheap" insurance! When I moved to Toledo I asked around about who I should choose for my home and auto insurance, and I consistently heard good things about Mullan Insurance. I also saw on TV that they had received some sort of award from the Better Business Bureau, so I felt that I could probably trust them. I decided to give them a call, and I was extremely happy that I did. What I liked the best was the fact that they have multiple companies from which they can choose, and so they were able to get prices from several different companies that could get me the best price. I also felt like they treated me as an intelligent human being, taking the time to explain the types of coverage and deductibles that I could choose from. I didn't feel like they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes with complicated insurance "speak"- they were happy to answer all of my questions and saved me money by finding just the right company for me. I appreciated that. They also helped get me several discounts that dropped my cost quite a bit. These are quality people, and I highly recommend them!

While it's true I did not know I was required to pay a City Tax, it's reasonable that a professional tax preparer would know and make the client aware. When I notified John of the letter from the city and asking for help to resolve this I was ghosted. He stated he would get back in touch the following week and never did. I did try to reach him by phone but no response. Obviously I'm moving my business elsewhere as this has cost me in penalty, late fees, and the cost of having 4 years of returns amended with the City. My point is be sure you know what you need done and don't expect any assistance from Benzing because you will be left high and dry to deal with any issues that come up by yourself. I cannot recommend this firm.

We met with Steve Hayes after we…read moremoved to Michigan from Ohio and were trying to find quality home insurance at a competitive rate. Steve was able to provide that for us. At first, I did not give Hayes our auto insurance as I could get better rates by keeping our auto and home insurance at separate companies. Steve was always understanding of my position and continued to look for policies to bring the rest of my business to Hayes. A few years later the numbers made sense and we moved all our insurance policies to Hayes. Since we have been with Hayes, we did unfortunately lose my wife's wedding ring. Though we were quite sick over the loss of the ring, Steve made the replacement process quite painless. Thankfully, we had purchased a rider on our home policy to cover the ring and it was replaced without a large increase to our premium. I highlight this incident to stress to anyone reading this review that insurance quality is just as important as price. This incident highlighted the quality of the coverage we receive from Hayes Insurance. In the end I am thankful I was able to find Hayes Insurance and Steve in particular. He understands where we are at in life and has been able to provide great counsel over the years to ensure that we are properly protected. If you are in the market for insurance, I would highly recommend getting a quote from Hayes.
