Bed Bugs! This Rodeway Inn has bed bugs and when brought to their attention, they do not care. Stayed the night on Friday 3/4/22. Was woken three times in the night (2:30, 3:30, 5:30am, even feeling the bugs crawling off of me the last time). Showered, packed and went down and told Nicki the front desk person of my ordeal. Asked for my money back. Was told a day later the manager does not care. Stay away from this motel. Go across the street. Much better. read more

I stayed at this location for a couple of days mainly because it had the cheapest rate around. But I had no idea it was catered to truckers. I mean... you get what you paid for, right? I can't complain too much, and here are a list of pros and cons that might help someone with young kids. Pros: - very cheap and the pricing is great if you just need a place to crash. - location is safe and right by a Walmart - there's a lake with a seating area behind it and it's very charming - they have fresh cookies in the front desk, coffee and snacks - it's in Giltner, and there's not too many of a selection around - free parking and free WiFi - for a place that markets itself to truckers , the bathroom is very clean Cons: - there are rooms that are smoking and non-smoking... that doesn't help. You can smell cigarettes every where - we got confronted by a trucker who claimed we were being loud, ... that didn't end well - front desk people can be short and rude - toilets leaked constantly... they really should do something about it.. you can hear it leaking from other rooms too. So would I stay here again? Probably not , I have kids and it's not really kid friendly. But I would if I were single and just needed a cheap place to stay. read more

This is a nice basic hotel. It's not fancy, but if you're looking at this hotel you're not likely looking for fancy. We stopped here late at night on our way home from South Dakota. It was one of the few places that had a room within several miles. The room and bathroom were clean. It had clean towels and washrags. It smelled nice and not like smoke as some people have reviewed. The only place I smelled cigarette smoke was by the door in the back entrance which was probably from people smoking by the door. The hotel is a little dated and could use some sprucing up in the halls, but the rooms look nice. Nice little fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The only thing that didn't work was the hair dryer in our room. It was a nice place to crash after a day on the road. read more

I travel all over the country , I stay in all kinds of hotels from the really shady to the very nice. Once in awhile I find a true gem, this hotel is one of those! Nice view from the back... beautiful, the rooms are clean, Bed is comfy, pillows look like pillows, water pressure is excellent, big screen TV microwave, refrigerator in the room, and it is spacious, all for a nominal price. You can guarantee that I will be back! There is a wonderful lady behind the desk whose name is Gail who is very sweet. I recommend this place for any one but ESPECIALLY Pilot/Escorts. Room was not clean and the door to the bathroom didn't lock. The bathroom light/vent fan was missing cover and showed exposed wires

This place should not be allowed to have people stay at it unless there are major changes. I had 2 rooms that I had gotten through Reservation.com. It smelled as soon as we walked in to check in. When we got to the room our wasn't even shut. As we went in the room smelled as bad as the hallways and lobby. We had to shut off the a/c unit because it was so dirty . We had to have our window opened all night to be able to breath easier. The bathroom has black mold in it and it's supposed to be a non-smoking room but there were cigarette burn holes in the bed spreads. one of the rooms had 1 light bulb in it. We had 2 of our kids that have extreme allergies and we knew they could not stay longer than1 night so I asked the front desk person to please allow us to check out and refund the last two nights because I had put in a claim to Reservation.com. He told me no so I asked to talk to a manager and he said there wasn't one there. I tried showing him all the pictures I had taken of the complaints I had and he just said I had to many and he wasn't gonna do anything except try a different room. Well I declined another room because I had reserved 2 rooms and they both were bad and the halls and lobby were the same way. As you walk down the halls all you could hear were people coughing and blowing their noses. I asked for his business card and when he gave it to me it said General Manager on it. So not only was he unwilling to work with me on a refund because it was unhealthy for us to stay there, he totally lied to me about there not being a manager there. We also double charged me for the rooms because he put them on my card that was given for "incidentals". I am so disappointed in this motel and Reservation.com for reserving for this establishment and also not doing more to serve their customers. read more

middle of the night, i woke up covered in bed bug bites. management refused to offer a refund. i am super bummed and upset at the poor customer relations. it's pretty immoral to open your doors and charge hardworking people good money, only for them to get covered in painful bites. the least you could do is offer a refund, otherwise, aren't you inviting a lawsuit? i am also worried about getting infections from the bites. they're huge. avoid this place. you're better off sleeping in your car or truck. read more

Bathroom had base trim falling off and mold all the way up the wall Room was musty and smelled like smoke. Staff was t as friendly as last year and seemed to be non existent. Room keys only worked half the time. Coffee wasn't in the room after the first day and cleaning was half assed. Room was dirty corners were filthy. I will never stay again. read more

It's a pretty basic motel. I was going to add an extra point for the GORGEOUS view of a lake from the window ... but then I wanted to subtract a point for some of the sketchy people hanging around there, and how loud it was. So I'll settle for an average 3-star motel. I only stayed here one night, while moving across the country. It's pet friendly, which is why we initially chose it. They had a pretty decent continental breakfast in the morning, which was nice. The rooms seemed clean (I'm a paranoid freak and check for bedbugs everywhere) so that was good - but they also had that motel room smell. I don't know how to describe it but you know what I mean. I would stay here again. It was convenient and reasonably priced, and the view makes it worth it. read more

The Rodeway Inn in Grand Island met my needs very well for an easy overnight. The hotel is used by lots of workers with huge trucks that park in the big dirt lot next to the hotel. The place is pretty quiet, and everything seems to work, and the desk is helpful and cheerful, even when overwhelmed as the sun goes down and everybody want to lay down. Decided to stop hear after driving cross country, we read so many great reviews we thought this was the one. I don't know if those reviews were fake or what, the people staying in the hotel were extremly sketchy! We were scared to fall asleep at night. Stayed here with my boyfriend and two cats while traveling across the country. No extra pet fee! :) View was gorgeous, staff was friendly and informative. You could tell by the smell that we were in a "pet-friendly" room, but nothing to complain about, it wasn't terrible just noticeable. I agree with a previous comment that there were some sketchy people hanging about. We weren't bothered by any and they all seemed nice enough, but we definitely parked our cars in view of the main lobby just to be safe. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone passing through, especially when traveling with pets! read more

I travel for a month at a time around the country for work, and I can say this is one of the best motels I've ever stayed at. Clean rooms that smell fresh the moment you walk in them, comfortable beds, and a decent HDTV along with a fridge and microwave makes this a very pleasant stay. The staff is extremely friendly and will go out of the way to make sure you have the best possible experience. There's also a great view of the lake with a patio and chairs/tables if you want to kick back and relax outside. Keeping in mind the price and the relative comfort, this is as good as it gets. This is a well known chain that has won a number of awards as well as having the benefit of being privately owned The staff is wonderfully chatty polite and incredibly helpful when it comes to tips and suggestions. The Inn also provides great discounts at a number of restaurants in walking distance. I was there during the NE state fair and they convinced me to go and I had a fantastic time! The Inn itself was clean and quiet. It has a beautiful lake that you can see from some of the rooms in the back as well as from the patio. The rooms were spacious, and the staff was quick to try and accommodate Now for the bonuses... First of all, like I mentioned, the lake! Beautiful and peaceful! Also, they pop some delicious popcorn for the guests every night. Another staff member also regularly brings in baked cookies and sometimes even cinnamon rolls! how can you beat that? The breakfast was also nice. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, coffee, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, etc. It was a great start to the day Lasty, we met the owner and her daughter when we were at the State Fair. They were incredibly sweet and we had a fantastic conversation with them. I was thoroughly impressed. I Think its great to support a local family and they are the ones to support! We stayed here for a few days 2 weeks ago and were very impressed with the staff and ammenities! As previous posters mentioned, there was fresh popcorn and cookies every night! There was a fridge and coffee maker in our room and a large tv. We happened to be there the weekend of Junk Jaunt....packed full!! We still had HOT water and great pressure every time we showered! We had an ideal view of the lake and multi-tiered patio....I've lived in this area for about 10 years off and on and never knew the lake was there! The staff were super friendly...even brewed an extra pot of coffee so my husband could fill his thermos for the long road trip the morning we checked out! Keep in mind that you are staying at a mom-n-pop style hotel. They treat you like family here! We've stayed in LOTS of different hotels/motels and anything you think you are missing from the 'bigger places' these folks make up for in friendliness, helpfulness, and positive attitudes! read more

The room is a decent size. We are here for a few weeks so to have a room that you can make a home for a couple of weeks is important and this motel does that for you. The rates are awesome, stay a week and it's affordable nightly. The breakfast is nice, coffee is great. They have cookies put out sometimes. The staff is nice and helpful, and the rooms are real clean. I like to cook in my room and that is allowed. Pets are allowed which is a plus, and the wifi is really good. They have an area in the back that's really nice, it has a view of a pond or lake, and you can grill out there. I would definitely stay again if we ever come back to Grand Island for work again. read more

I'm a young woman traveling alone. Stopping here on my way from Texas to South Dakota to spend Christmas with my family. There is a bad snow storm on my route so I decided to stop over night...something I've never done. Stopped at another hotel first but the rate was too high for the short amount of time I would be staying. Stopped here and was checked in by Wendy. She was great!! My room was less than $70 and I was checked in and in my room in 15 mins. It's a cute and cozy inn. Free wifi is great. Lots of travelers in the parking lot. I feel warm, safe and sound here. Great place for someone who doesn't need any fancy amenities, just a cozy place to stay. Would stop again and would recommend!! read more

Room was well set up, but definitely aged. Sheets/bedding appeared very old and for that reason they felt unclean. Honestly if those had been updated I would've been much more comfortable. If I could leave zero stars I would. We stayed here during the Nebraska State Fair. I made the reservation obviously not knowing how awful it is. First of all, it's SMOKING. The entire place REEKS of smoke. They placed us right by someone who was having a cigarette party in their room and it smelt AWFUL. They knew we had kids when I booked the room, yet refused to move us as they were booked bc of the fair. Every other hotel in town was booked or we would have left. It doesn't end there. We get in the room and the sink was completely clogged up. When I called the front desk, they said no maintenance person was on duty and we'd just have to deal with it. That night, we turned on the air bc it was hot. It smelt awful. They obviously hadn't changed the filter in years and my family and I couldn't breathe all night. On top of that, they placed us right by an ice machine. People were getting ice all night and it was so loud. I maybe got an hour of sleep. I went to the front desk three times during the night and nobody was there. Not only did the ice machine keep us up, but we heard banging all night from the room above us. The next day, I again asked to move rooms, advising them of the awful disturbance of the Ice machine. They said I should have asked to not be by the machine. As if I should have known. I've never stayed at a place where the ice machine was right next to a room. Overall, it was an awful experience. My family vacation to the fair was ruined. I have since called the manager FIVE times to discuss the stay, and he couldn't bother to call us back. If you are looking for a place to stay during the fair, I HIGHLY recommend you avoid this place at all costs! read more

I spent over five years living in hotels and this one is definitely worth staying in. Great location off the interstate, smells great, and the room we stayed in had three (3) queen beds. I have never seen that before. Very spacious, entrances were located very well, and the price was perfect. Everything was clean and accommodating. We did not try the breakfast as we slept in because the beds were not too soft and not too hard, pillows were just right, and we had the room temperature comfortable. The shower was surprising... it was easy to overheat the water... that is a good thing. Plenty of hot water at 9:30 when most people have already checked out. I have two complaints; the restaurant next door has mediocre food and smells bad and making a left turn from their parking lot can be difficult. Neither of these are negatives towards the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay in it every time I visit Grand Island. read more
