Beautiful SF and Marin scenery as you ascend the stairs on the Morning Sun Trail leading to the Rodeo Valley Trail. I would say it's an easy to moderate trail with slight elevation at certain points....amazing views down towards Sausalito, Tiburon and Angel Island. And in a not so far distance, you will be able to see the cityscape of San Francisco downtown and Treasure Island, etc. It was a great hike to burn off some calories from the huge Easter brunch.
It started to drizzle but we made it just fine altho my pants and hiking shoes suffered in appearance...portion of the trail was soggy and muddy caused by the running water from the nearby mountain/creek (too much rain!!!!) hence we were soaked in the shoes, not a pleasant sight but nothing beats being out in nature and bask in some sunshine, walking past luxurious wildflower terrain - Ithuriel's spear, yarrow (reminded me of Cauliflower), blue-eyed grass, California poppies, kestrels perched on tree tops, eagles flying in the sky and we saw a tiny snake slithering by which made me scream coz it was just too gross but I calmed down...oh well, so much drama for an afternoon hike... :) read more
