They serve food from outside tents, indoor and drive thru if you preordered. They have different options for each which can be confusing. My friend got the two shrimp platter and I got the pork and we shared. I also had the walnut gluten free cake and it was really good. I also tried the Greek fries which were mostly fries with feta (nothing wrong with that). Another friend had the salad and it looked epic! In the program, they list the rest of the churches hosting their own festivals and I will try to go to other ones this summer! It's the only other one I've been to with loukoumades (greek donuts), plus they had real greek soda and a metaxa sour mixed drink. My cousin and I split souvlaki and rice, greek fries, and ordered both drinks. Everything was delicious and authentic compared to what I remember from my Greek study abroad trip. Afterwards we visited the gift shop/market and bought cute pasta shapes and snacks. The two ladies working there were very friendly and helpful as we both talked about our experiences and love of all things greek, haha. Unfortunately we missed the church tour, as someone raised catholic and thus used to endless statues and stained glass, I must say I've grown to admire the colorful interiors of Greek Orthodox churches more! (sorry other denominations, up your architecture game!) We look forward to becoming regulars with another visit next year.

After that experience, we attempted to locate a pre-school and Zion was one of the few available programs at the time. We did not know what to expect as we had never utilized a parochial-based education. At Zion, my children found friends, great teachers, and an amazing and welcoming. community. There was ZERO pressure to attend that particular church. My children received a robust preschool education in math, English language fundamental skills, and classes in Spanish. Almost one year after both of my children graduated from Zion, we ran into my son's teacher at a restaurant. She remembered him, asked about a variety of his interests, and followed up with a conversation talking about how much he had grown in the previous 12 months. This is a gem of a preschool and deserves a ton of credit for the strong educational foundation they provide the children attending there.

I haven't seen any issues with the amount of clay that is available, and my teacher has been more than willing to mix up what I need. Edit 4/22/2014 I went to open studio this weekend. The monitor was super helpful, but there was no space to do anything and my stuff was moved multiple times by co-op members... I understand that there is a show next weekend, but maybe open studio time should be geared more toward accommodating the people that are paying to be there and less on the co-op members pushing you out of the way to get their stuff done on time... I hate to say this, 1. because I know I will go back there and I really do not mean to offend anyone... I am just giving my opinion and 2. because all of the classes I have taken there have been amazing. However, I keep having not great experiences at open studio. That being said, I have had some open studio's that were great... but not nearly as many as were bad.

The priests are so nice and personable and always make a point to greet the parishioners after mass, even during inclement weather. The 2 main priests are also very engaging and make mass interesting. Unlike some other Catholic Churches that I have attended through the years, they are also very welcoming to non-parishioners as well. Another thing that was different from any other church that I have attended was that when i first joined about 4 years ago, they had a welcoming cocktail and appetizer party for all new members. It was a nice chance to get to know then clergy, other fellow new members and also many current active younger adult members were in attendance too.

St. Stanislaus has always been iconic with its position on Smallman with golden accents that shine in the sun... especially now as you drive down past The Terminal! The spires have always look... truncated... and now with the history lesson - I fully understand it. The ACME Banana Factory next door had an explosion due to a spark with the ethylene gas in 1936. Launching bananas everywhere, the church had some major damage to the structure which forced them to restructure and thus having some wonky appearances. Even funnier, in 1990, the church was doing renovations and found petrified bananas inside - 54 years after the explosion!!! To this day, they have a banana fest to celebrate the fruitful past! Ornate, gorgeous, and well kept - this church is literally stunning.. to the point that I cannot believe that the doors are just wide open for the public. Praise God that they are so willing to share the beauty with the public so openly.

The interior almost seems small compared to how large it looks looming up from the street, but that adds to the charm of this gorgeously decorated masterpiece! It is a wonderful place to just stop in and admire the beauty, but it is also a wonderful place to spend time in quiet prayer or attend a Mass. Their Masses are reverent and moving. If you are in the area, definitely check it out!
