This is fitting for me to write my 1,300 review on a place that means a lot to me that I apparently never reviewed. The Monroeville Convention Center stands as a beacon of excitement and anticipation for fans of pop culture and entertainment. Hosting the renowned Steel City Con three times a year - in April, August, and December - this venue has become synonymous with unforgettable experiences and star-studded encounters. As a seasoned attendee of the Steel City Con, I can attest to the sheer awesomeness of this convention center. With each visit, my expectations are not only met but exceeded beyond measure. The sheer magnitude of celebrity guests gracing its halls is enough to leave any fan in awe. From iconic figures like Michael C. Hall, who brought the enigmatic Dexter Morgan to life, to the lovable David Zayas, known for his portrayal of Sgt. Angel Batista, the lineup of celebrities is nothing short of spectacular. And let's not forget Ralph Macchio, forever etched in our hearts as the Karate Kid, and the ruggedly charming Charlie Hunnam, who stole our hearts as Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy. The list truly goes on and on. This weekend promises to be yet another unforgettable affair, with the opportunity to meet the beloved cast members of 90210, including Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh), and Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders / Fin Sheperd from Sharknado). The prospect of rubbing shoulders with these legends is enough to make any fan's heart skip a beat. But what truly sets the Monroeville Convention Center apart is its ability to turn dreams into reality. Here, amidst the hustle and bustle of the convention floor, fans have the chance to meet their childhood heroes, snap a photo with their favorite stars, and bask in the glow of shared fandom. In essence, the Monroeville Convention Center is more than just a venue - it's a gateway to a world of imagination, where fantasies are brought to life and memories are made to last a lifetime. So whether you're a die-hard fan or simply looking for an unforgettable experience, look no further than the Monroeville Convention Center. After all, dreams really do come true here.T

Second time here for a convention. What I will say in the positive is that the forklift staff is very helpful and friendly. However the convention owners are very very unflattering and unreasonable. Place inside is very nice, and again the staff like Phil are very helpful and take care of moving in items.

for many years, the SteelCityCon has been held at this venue. Every year it gets bigger and bigger and the venue is just too small. They expanded to the hotel, and everything is a cluster people barely get through you spend an excessive amount of money for a three day pass and then you could add on the standard VIP for an additional $150 or if you want a specific celebrity upwards of $500 if you choose not to spend the additional for the VIP the odds you meet your favorite celebrity are nil. cut off people who were waiting in line for five hours to meet somebody. This is not cool, not cool this venue is too small for the caliber in the amount of celebrities they get. this past convention was a nightmare. I waited in line for two hours. They cut me off so she could go to her Q&A. I did not get a number and my time was considered not valuable at all. I contacted them and they said they would forward my complaints and concerns to management, I am highly upset and will not be attending any future conventions as long as it's at this venue

    Steel City Con...fun!

Fun place to go for the Steel City Con...lots of great little setup vendors, food available that's not too bad, and the folks running around in costumes are an absolute hoot! The Con usually has a reasonable group of 'stars' you can see and pay for autographs. It's a fun day there...just take your wallet. Over 20 bucks to get in the door. You can negotiate any vendor purchases you've interest in.

This is a nice size convention center in front of the famous Monroeville "Dawn of the Dead" Mall. It is about as simple as it gets, traveling to this mall. There is not an overabundance of amenities. But, the bathrooms are typically clean. The staff has been very helpful and friendly, in my experience. Compared to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philly, though, it pales. This one is very plain Jane. But location makes this place an attractive destination.

Decent convention center of a decent size. Usually only come out for conventions like Steel City Con; which is always fun and packed with fans, celebs and vendors. Great time to people watch. I'll say the staff at convention center handles for traffic and congestion well. Though it gets crowded it's an enjoyable time and easy to navigate.

Great amount of space. I go to the holiday craft show every year. The parking lot is also large but does fill up quick.

Went here for the Antique Military Show. It was HUGE and took us about 2 and a half hours to look at everything.

Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, decent wifi... No free continental breakfast here.... But, they have a bar/restaurant in the lobby area for dinner. The guest laundry is only 1 washer & 1 dryer, so the wait can be ling if others are using. The area is nice, close to the new hospital, Miracle Mile shopping area & Penn Center. Over all I had a great stay stay and recommend.

They seem to be doing renovations and it is an ok place overall. The checkin went smooth. We were told about the bar, pool and exercise room. The rooms were clean and good overall. They had a TV, Microwave, coffee maker and fridge. There was no safe but that was the overall downside for the room. I stayed for two nights and I never got my room cleaned the first night. I sat a pizza box outside my door so maybe this was a sign not to clean my room or give me towels, make my bed or even leave fresh cups for coffee. Maybe it was housekeepings off day. Not sure but I thought this was odd. I asked for towels and coffee cups in the afternoon and they never showed up. I also saw toilet paper and towels hanging from outside doors which makes me think it was not only me. I used the exercise room and the equipments built in TVs did not work. Overall it was good for the price and things will probably be better in time. The staff were slightly attentive. I was also told that the place was going to become a Best Western. Overall the place was also quiet and close to the turnpike and freeways. The beds were also comfortable. I would give it a second try in the future once things have settled.

I wasn't overly impressed with the dinner, the chicken was too lemon-y and the short rib was too well done for me. The mashed potatoes were amazing and the vegetarian option (ravioli) looked great. To mitigate risk amid COVID, they offered a virtual menu accessed by scanning a bar code with your phone. They have been able to maintain an expansive menu as well, with options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I tried a new dish for dinner- a veggie pesto tartare. The presentation was stunning and I loved the meal. The bread was toasted yet still soft enough to bite. The pesto and veggies were a perfect savory topping. We also ordered the zucchini planks, which were plentiful on the plate and paired well with the dipping sauces. My friend ordered a veggie wrap that came with a side of fresh fruit, and had nothing but positive things to say about the dish. We both ordered white wine (I had a pinot grigio and she had a riesling) to go with our vegetarian meals. Huge props to the chef, Matt! We loved it all! Our server, Susy, was so nice and accommodating. She was a pleasure to talk to and did a great job serving! We also got to meet Brad, who walked around to each table and chatted with the members (he also recommended the veggie tartare, such a good call). Mark (Sales & Catering Director) gave us a tour of their event space, as we are looking for a venue for a bridal shower. He was great! Very personable and knowledgeable of everything Edgewood has to offer. He gave us a packet of information to go home with. They renovated their main event spaces in early 2020, and we were very impressed with the classy look and feel of each room! Every person we met at Edgewood was friendly and attentive. Between the staff and members we had the chance to meet, I am confident that Edgewood has built a comforting and accepting community. Overall I would highly recommend this club!
