The Railyard - Game day. Beautiful day. Think they usually have more people for games but this was supposed to be an off week plus it's 11am.

The hustle and bustle of the crowd in The Railyard is full of excitement and camaraderie. You watch the games on giant screens hung around The Railyard, and each time the Huskers score or make a great play, the crowd erupts and you may get a drink or two splashed on or around you in the hubbub (just part of the fun, get ready to get dirty and stepped on). Speaking of spilled drinks, that is one plus of watching a game at The Railyard vs. in person at the stadium - there are plenty of alcoholic drinks to enjoy, if that's your thing - and plenty of restaurants and bars around for nonalcoholic drinks and snacks too. You don't have to stick to Dr. Pepper and Valentinos here! (Memorial Stadium did recently lift their ban on alcohol sales in the stadium but that won't be in effect for a while, and you will pay an arm and a leg.) My husband actually had his bachelor party at The Railyard, watching a game and then hitting a few nearby bars. He said it was a great way to spend a day with his pals, and would recommend doing that to anyone who's a Husker fan, looking for a more chill bachelor party idea. You can eat at one of The Railyard restaurants with a patio and watch the game on the giant screens that way, or find a spot with your group and stake your claim in the middle of the yard (don't worry, it's concrete, not grass). Whichever way you decide to do it, I definitely say you should catch a game at The Railyard for the unique experience!

When you go in there and order a drink like a whiskey and Coke they charge you for a double which was $17, if you do not tell them I want a single. They automatically charge you for a double. Otherwise, the rail yards is great place, and the best bar in the railyard is Gate 25. Because they do not scam you like ( tanks and the corner bar do)

We had a great time seeing Weird Al here! It's a pretty large space; next time there is a show here…read moreI want to see, I will buy tickets when they first go on sale. Parking before the show was easy, lots of people to wave us in to the right spaces. Unfortunately most of those attendants were nowhere to be seen AFTER the show. And that was frustrating because it was really a huge cluster of cars. REALLY. Fortunately the parking is free. The Bowl is part of a park that is really nice, with a pond, beautiful trees, and an interesting display of huge old columns. So if you are there early you can wander around. The seats though. We were in the last row, and obviously the Bowl did not have quite enough of the regular chairs, so those of us in the way back were on these white folding chairs that definitely appeared narrower and less comfortable than the black chairs that all the other rows have. It was warm and we were REALLY close to each other. Food and drink is available. I believe the site says you can bring in an empty plastic water bottle. Though apparently it needs to be CLEAR and not opaque plastic and that is ridiculous. Thinking about it now I'm going to take off another star for that, since we were not allowed to bring our water bottle in and they were jerks about it honestly.

What a small and unique music venue…read more It doesn't look like much, but it produces five star events featuring some of entertainment's biggest names. Stage, sound and lights are world class. Whoever you come to see will look and sound good. Portable seats are brought in every show. They're semi small and they're packed close together. I've seen skinnier days, so I did my best to make myself small. Please beware if you're in a similar weight class. You may want to buy early, so you can find seats on an aisle. I couldn't find bathrooms. Somebody in another review said there were real bathrooms on site, so I guess if you know you know. Luckily there are a few porta potty farms with sinks. Lines formed, however they moved quickly and even though some of us may have had some adult beverages, everybody behaved themselves. I didn't see any food, but I did find some beverage stands. They seemed to be fully stocked with the normal beer and cocktail brands. Expect to pay inflated music venue prices. Parking is easy, but there are only a few ways into the venue, so it will take a while. Please give yourself plenty of time to travel.

WEA YOU STAY GOING?…read more Wen people learn dat you stay going mainland fo' vacay, dey usually respond with beeg smiles, wide eyes, and enthusiastically ask, "Where are you going?" or "What state are you visiting?" When I replied back with, "Lincoln, Nebraska," I got da reply, "What's over there?" Post-visit, I can honestly say wat stay ovah dea: "Haoles, corn, and choke land." ------------- SCCA SOLO II NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RUNOFFS I was dea attending da 50th Annual Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Solo II National Championship Runoffs sponsored by online discount tire/wheel magnate, Tire Rack, and held in September 2013. No, I don't race, but my husband does! And befoa any of you get any kine preconceived notions of a spiky-haired, skinny and lanky Japanee/Korean/Chinee who binges on Fast & Da Furious movies, Initial D manga, and Top Gear (da Europe version; U.S. one sucks monkey butt), who illegally races on da H-2 and H-3 freeway in da middle of da nite, and goes to Tantalus fo' midnite drift runs .... YOU'RE ACTUALLY RIGHT! NOT! He's a "fluffy", dark Hawaiian dude dat I affectionately call "Da Fat & Da Furious" (based on comedian Gabriel Iglesias' hilarious joke) who has done autocrossing fo' ovah a decade now. WHAT AUTOCROSSING (OR "AUTOX") IS .... A timed competition wea cars race, one at a time, on a defined course, and da goal is fo' have da fastest time. It's a sport dat requires speed, but mo' so, you need fo' have precision and expertise behind da wheel. It was spacious, clean, and capable of holding large parties up to 300 people. A parking lot dat holds up to 90 cars and no pukas!!! (puka = "hole" in Hawaiian; if you live in Hawai'i, especially on O'ahu, majority of our roads and highways look like da equivalent of Swiss cheese). Has a large commercial kitchen or you can bring your own catering/food. Very impressive and located rite across from da Museum of American Speed dat has several HUMANGOUS floors of race cars, engines, items related to speed (push carts, bikes, etc.), car-related merchandise (lunch boxes, toys, etc.), antiques, and mo'! I guess with all da land in Corntown, U.S.A. dey can afford fo' have such a spacious and huge facility ... lucky buggahs! REVIEW #256

The facility is gorgeous, well stocked and had all kinds of extras that you can choose to use for your event. Great sound system. Debbie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and went the extra mile to make last minute items for us. Everything was set up just as discussed when we arrived. She was involved through the whole process and so easy to work with. The bartender was great and so accommodating when we had a featured drink request. Thank you so much! We will definitely look to you if we ever need an event space in Lincoln again!
