Before heading out onto the walkway, there's a large tent with food and a space where you can watch a short video explaining the sanctuary's mission and the work they do. I appreciated having that background because it made the whole experience feel more meaningful once we were out there. It was also nice that you can grab food and bring it out with you. Obviously you cannot feed the animals, but you can enjoy your own food and bring a water bottle while you walk. I grabbed a slice of pizza on the way out and appreciated that flexibility. The volunteers were genuinely kind and clearly passionate about being there. The facility itself is huge, you walk along a long elevated walkway that stretches over the habitats, which gives you a really unique vantage point. We had beautiful weather and great visibility, so we were lucky to see a lot. Some animals were lounging, some sleeping, and others were playing around. I liked how each enclosure felt thoughtfully set up and spacious, you could tell they are trying to give the animals an environment that suits them. If you are an animal lover, it is absolutely worth checking out. I do think it can feel a little expensive without a membership, but when you see the scale of the property and understand the work they are doing, it makes more sense. Overall, it was a really special way to spend the day.

We try to come early January so we can see the eagles when they come through. We missed that window so there were only a few that we saw this time. I understand ear tipping can be done for barn cats, but this looks like far more than it should be. I showed the photos to my vet today, and they told me the ear was cut way too short. Every time I look at her now I tear up, it breaks my heart. I truly wish my cat had been treated with more care and consideration.

We pulled up to our spot and waited less than 5 mins before a technician came out. As soon as I handed her off they were so sweet chatting with her and I could tell she was going to be in good hands. Like the instructions said, a payment link was sent in the afternoon and it was easy to checkout. Pickup was easy too and I loved that they not only gave verbal instructions but also written (great for my forgetfulness). Her incision was very small and looked clean, I could tell my pup felt a million times better the next day since she was back to her usual energy levels again and we had to refrain her play. **tip that I wish I did if I scheduled the appt more in advance: order a few soft dog cones/donuts/surgical suits in advance to find what will work best. We had to bring our sweet girl in for and emergency for some symptoms she was exhibiting. They explained all of the tests they wanted to do and why, and gave us a quote with everything listed that they may or may not need to do, with explanations on everything. This was my first time bringing our girl here, and I felt comfortable leaving her as I felt she was in great hands. We had to leave her for the day, and we received multiple check in calls to update us on how she was doing. We were able to bring her home later that night and when she was being discharged, the lady I talked to was so kind in explaining everything that we needed to keep our eye out on, and things we needed to do for her for the next few days. I'm very pleased with the services they provided, and I feel the quote was fair for what we received. Pet care isn't cheap, but I knew they were trying to make it as cost effective as they could. I hope I don't need to come back here anytime soon, but if we do I'm glad we have this place close to us to take care of our girl.

Nowadays, fashion rather than function seems to be the selection at 'outdoor' shops. Ok... there's Bent Gate that still carries higher quality gear for folks who like to 'get at it'. Sure, you get what you pay for but the stuff does what it's supposed to do albeit at a price point a little higher than average. However, if you ever needed gear that will not fail, buy the better stuff for in the long run, you'll not only come out ahead but it might save your life. I asked why wouldn't it say that when ordering and she mentioned not all the stores do but she's giving me a heads up and her tone wasn't nice and matter of fact attitude was not appropriate to a very consistent customer for years. Please do not go to this veterinary hospital!! I bought my 5…read moremonth old puppy in because he ate toxic plants. It happened at 745pm. He was wobbly,weak, lathrgic by 830. I brought him in around 930, after trying to get activated charcoal but all stores were closed. I brought in a oval pink flower pedal and told the nurse and doctor that he had eatin long white flower pedals off the floor of an art gallery. The doctor said he was having neurological issues. Then, The doctor said my dog must have ate marijuana. I don't use illicit drugs or drink. I saw my puppy eat the flowers. I told both medical people that it was not marijuana it was Daisy's and some other flower. I was not given help, told to leave. I asked so you are not going to treat him and their response was no. I'm going to escalate this to the authoritys and will be proceeding with further actions if my dog has permanent neurological issues. His back legs still do not support him. When I called to ask why did the doctor not listen to me. They said their not botanists. I replied then why did you call poison control and identify the flower pedals. They said not their job. There are tons of toxic plants for cats and dogs. It is their job to know. This was the worst experience ever. And my puppy may never be the same. Please don't not go to this emergency room!!! Read others reviews. There are some unqualified doctors working there. I was treated disrespectfully by the staff after I was upset they misdiagnosed the issue. And refused to treat my pup. Funny thing is the response to my review from management was that I began to be violent, which never happened. I asked for the cops to escort me back so I and the officer could to review the security footage. However the management got the cops to go there first saying I was aggressive. Of course I'll never go back there. Take responsibility for your belittling and patronizing staff.
