WHAT A VENUE! This place is a total game changer. Lucy and Josh (the managers) are an absolute pleasure and the food is way beyond any expectation you might have! All but one of their wines is locally made and pretty bloody exceptional. The boyfriend and I decided to pop down for lunch on a rainy day and ended up spending the entire afternoon laughing with other patrons and the managers themselves. Definitely the most amazing wining/dining experience I've had to date. A MUST-GO if you're ever on the island. :) read more

I had a late lunch at the Rockpool Café on Kangaroo Island, AU last week and it was absolutely delicious! I tried the garlic prawns on chips (aka French fries here in the states) and they were some of the best I have had. I was given a generous portion with good-sized prawns and the fries with the garlic butter were really tasty! Sorry Giovanni's, these were tastier! read more

Having been here in my youth, I was looking forward to showing the place off to my girlfriend. We went for a late lunch in the middle of the SA school holidays and were bitterly disappointed. We ordered the 'seafood cone', and for $28 we thought it would be enough to share as a light lunch but asked to add an extra fillet of King George whiting. This added $10 to the price. After 45 minutes (without apology), we were brought our soggy cone. While the seafood was nice, our $10 whiting was barely legal (if at all). Our chips were limp and undercooked and the salad consisted of a few leaves of lettuce, a tomato wedge or two, and a few slivers of cucumber. The house made tartare sauce was nice, and I'm glad we bought wine and a crossword puzzle. read more
