He brings an array of tools and parts. He works quickly from one chore to another. He is kind and he is reasonable. There is no rating high enough for a handyman like Dan Amori. He comes when he says he will. He can handle most any job, and if it requires a specialist, he will advise us on what kind to hire and often has a recommendation....skilled, experienced, honest, kind, and reasonable. It doesn't get any better:)

I called this guy to put in a door in my rental…read moreproperty and I explained to him the details of the job which were not complicating at all and that it would be a quick job. He was supposed to be there AFTER 11:30 as my tenant said that's when she would be home. Nearly 2 hours later (no call from Dan) but a text from my tenant saying he never showed up. I called Dan and he said he was there before 11:30 and she wasn't home. I told him that he agreed AFTER 11:30 was good so my tenant would be there. He then said that if he's supposed to be there at 11:30 but he shows up early. I told him that wasn't the arrangement he agreed to. He said he waited but the tenant never showed but I pulled in complex at 11:35 and Dan wasn't there but my tenant was home. So when I told him that he THEN said "Well I'm not going back cause the job isn't worth my time". Wowww I told him the details and he said he would do it but changed his mind. I understand he has the right to refuse jobs but at least be honest! He wasted my time and he lied. Wow, poor poor business.

About seven years ago my wife and I purchased a beautiful leather sofa bed at Ethan Allan's…read morefurniture store in Garden City NY. To write it is a high end sofa would be an accurate description so you can imaging our surprise when we heard a snap when I sat on the sofa. I pull the bed mechanism out and I could see a metal rod, in the rear was broken. I called Ethan Allan and received a list of their recommended repair companies. All companies are independent but they are Allan recommended (They are familiar with the Allan products). I called the two companies here on Long Island and got machines at both. I called Furniture Repair in 845 area code...up state NY and actually spoke to a human being. I explained my dilemma, and was told to take a picture of the break and e mail it to them. Okay, done and done. She called back and told me the cost for the repair was going to be $400. Bottom line. The sofa was expensive so I knew the repair was not going to be an easy fix. I was given a date for repair and when that day came I was expecting a repairman to arrive with the rod/part. Not so. I met Craig and his assistant James as they were removing a LARGE box from the rear of their delivery truck. What the ??? I watch James open the box and I could see what appeared to be the entire sofa-bed mechanism. I told Craig there must be some mistake. I just need the lower rod replaced. He told me they used to weld that part but it always snapped again so this was the only way to do that repair properly. Now I'm not happy with this news. The sofa cost about $ 4500. I'm doing quick math and estimate the cost for the primary part of the bed to be at least $1500-2000. Craig...I was told the cost for this repair would be a total of $400. Yes, that's right. $400. $400 for the part, the delivery and your repair... That's right. As I watched Craig and James take the entire sofa mechanism into my home I began to come out of shock. This is impossible. My wife and I watch them work like a well oiled machine, no doubt this was not their first rodeo. It took them less then 30 minutes to removed the defective part.and replace it with the new. They even replaced all cushions. There's nothing more I can write, oh maybe one more important fact: prior to this service call I have never even heard of the Furniture Repair company. My review is unsolicited but I want everyone in need of just about any furniture repair to consider Furniture Repair, Reupholstery & Refinishing. I do not recommend hiring Anderson Carpentry…read more I am the homeowner of the custom built home advertised on their page. Our home is their first and only full-house build to date and we felt the entire process was very disorganized. George Anderson was our general contractor and we believe he was unprepared for the scope of work and size of the project. Installs were not always done in standard order, which resulted in delays and extra labor. Materials were not always made available on schedule, which would result in subcontractors arriving but not being able to complete their work as planned. Overall, we felt the management and communication during the entire project was very poor. During the job, a worker accidentally sprayed white paint on our brown wooden swing outside. Instead of Anderson Carpentry offering to help remove the paint, we were given advice on how we could fix it ourselves. We feel the quality of the work is overall disappointing. There are noticeable flaws throughout the home. We were also given inaccurate timelines throughout the project and our home was completed over 4 months behind schedule, and only after we hired a lawyer to serve a demand letter to Anderson Carpentry. Everything about this experience was stressful, exhausting, frustrating and disappointing. We feel it was a serious mistake on our part to have hired Anderson Carpentry and we deeply regret it.
